CameraGenius replied to bobbyo's topic in Geovision
BEST SOLUTION = UPS Backup, find out what is causing video lost OK SOLUTION = upgrade to version 8.1 [/b] -
there should be a place to choose how many cams you want on the layout, also there should be a place to make the event viewer windowed so you can minimize it and move it wherever you want Sorry I do not have the exact instructions right in front of me

a "Pirated Software Question"
CameraGenius replied to CraigVM62's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
2 x GV-2008's in each of DVR (2 DVRs total) Yes you will have to have nice systems and much storage space, probably a dual core would be nice..........but it can be done -

CameraGenius replied to CraigVM62's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
if possible to wait till end of monthh......... You should get 4 x GV-2008 cards and make 2 DVR's with 2 in each.....that would be a great fix We may be able to get them sooner, not sure atm. -
or you can use the GV-COM and communicate through a USB port

Need to setup your DVR to have a 20GB Partition for the OS, and use the rest for storage. If you already have windows setup install the program "Partition Magic" and you can make your hard drive partitions whatever size you want **Never want to save your video data on the same partition as your OS

Dual monitor produces pinkish video stream
CameraGenius replied to xcopy-'s topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
sounds like a directdraw problem, that is why it is good to go with a dvr card that has a built in video output.....this usually will avoid the "pink screen" problem -
Problem with Webcam / Internet Explorer 7.0 & Windows Vi
CameraGenius replied to RichTJ99's topic in Geovision
no vista issue with the webcam, at least i've experienced the same issue you are having with a beta version, i was just saying ie 7 also has some bugs in it atm -
does the gv-data capture box have a serial port only sticker? what length is the serial cable to dvr? check your com ports in device manager, make sure there are no driver issues make sure you are pointing the pos settings to the right com port **personally i would use the gv-com and communicate through usb to the dvr (it creates a virtual com port that is clearly labeled), then from the gv-data capture box to the gv-com use rs-485 (2 conductor wire)

CameraGenius replied to RichTJ99's topic in Geovision
not sure what beta version you are using but I had the same problem, i suppose it has something to do with "beta" the real one will be out soon, ie 7.0 isn't perfect yet either -
just make sure you have the text overlay settings corrected how are you connecting the GV-Data capture to the DVR? How are you connecting the POS to the GV-Data? if you can't find any help give geovision a call and they can help you out, if you need the US number let me know
