I'm building out my home surveillance system and got most of my system nailed down. I'm repurposing a dell e6500 latitude with 2 1tb nearline drives to act as my NAS storage, and am running win2k8r2 off that box with nfs server for windows running with the BIG5 formatting. Everything works well, until after some period of time, the camera sees the NAS storage as offline and stops recording. On the laptop the service is still running and no error messages to speak of. What could be the failure point? I'm recording at 10 FPS and a bitrate of 2500 kps. Where should I look?
