Dynamic Analysis for Motion
Scoobs72 replied to egypro77's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
In "Local Configuration" on your camera, check that "Rules" is enabled. Rules has to be enabled for dynamic analysis to work. -
Confused about Synology Surveillance Station
Scoobs72 replied to shawn3090's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Have a look at ACTi's own NVRs then. Compatibility should, obviously, not be an issue with ACTi cameras paired with an ACTi NVR. -
Confused about Synology Surveillance Station
Scoobs72 replied to shawn3090's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Just be aware, SS has its faults. It is not a particularly well developed application, imo. If you are buying a solution from scratch and it is purely for IP camera usage then it would not be my first recommendation. And for 20 cameras, there's no way I'd go for Synology, QNAP or any other of these types of NAS application solutions. -
Confused about Synology Surveillance Station
Scoobs72 replied to shawn3090's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Some answers: 1. Recording is performed by the SS application on the NAS. SS is an application that you download and install on the NAS 2. Yes, you will need to install a plugin. The plugin downloads via SS when you first use it. 3. SS runs on the NAS, so doesn't need a PC to work. However, you need your PC to be able to log into SS for configuration and viewing recordings/timeline 4. Upgrades are free. SS comes with two camera licences. Additional licences need to be purchased 5. No idea, sorry. However there is a compatibility chart you can check on Synology's website. I'm sure you could find it easily via Google. -
Do you have a 6mm lens in your Hikvision camera?
Scoobs72 replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I've just set my two "purple haze" cams to Red = 40, Blue = 34. That gives me a very accurate colour balance throughout the day. I've not had to touch saturation with those settings. It tooks some trial and error to get the right balance between red and blue. -

Scoobs72 replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think the issue is that a number of cameras (e.g. 50% of mine) have poor white balance settings 'out of the box'. This can be fixed by manually tuning the white balance settings, but for some inexplicable reason Hikvision removed this feature in the 5.1.2 firmware. -

Hikvision Raptor 2 5.2.0 (2012,2032,2132,2432,7232 etc)
Scoobs72 replied to CBX's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It worked! Thanks so much. As an aside, it looks to me like 5.2.0 is more of a downgrade, than an upgraded firmware. Face detection removed, ability to downgrade to an older firmware level removed etc... 5.1.6 has also been pulled from the US FTP server. Personally, I'm sticking with 5.1.6 until there's a real reason to upgrade. -

tftp firmware recovery can take you to any versions. Seems like it's a real pain to do? Needs a separate 12v psu for the camera and a crossover cable???? -

Eeek! There seems to be no ability to downgrade from 5.2.0 once you've loaded it up. Any attempts are met with "Ugrading failed". -

Problems Hikvision PCNVR setup
Scoobs72 replied to Raikkok's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Email doesn't seem to work from PCNVR with some email providers (e.g. gmail). Anyway, it is actually better to send emails from the cameras directly because they have the benefit of being able to send emails which capture images every x seconds. So you end up with 3 images in the your email for each event, and you can clearly see what has happened during the whole event. When you get just one image from PCNVR you cannot be sure exactly what triggered the recording. I can't help with the other error. Sorry. -
Milestone and hikvision dropping frames problem...
Scoobs72 replied to pjwinstalls's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Try setting the iframe rate to halve of the fps rate. On my setup, when iframe is set to the same as the fps it causes ghosting/dropouts. Also, if you're running these cameras at 3mp with quality set to "best" your bitrate is too low for 20fps. There's a bitrate chart on the Hikvision US FTP site (under the Technical Bulletins section) which lists recommended rates. -
Hikvision 2032-I Events, (GMail) Email Error?
Scoobs72 replied to catseyenu's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Have you tried another provider, e.g. GMX ? It only takes a few minutes to set up an account with GMX. GMX is working fine for me, after Gmail stopped working. -

Yes, I've been running it for the past week or so. I couldn't actually see any improvement from the previous version though. -
Hikvision 2032-I Events, (GMail) Email Error?
Scoobs72 replied to catseyenu's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Success! Email using GMX works, even with SSL enabled. Gmail, yahoo, Outlook etc still don't work, so it's looking more like a compatibility issue with the cameras email client and multiple providers stmp servers. -
Hikvision 2032-I Events, (GMail) Email Error?
Scoobs72 replied to catseyenu's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I put some logging on my firewall. Each camera is definitely making a connection to the smtp servers. A wireshark trace from PCNVR shows the same - the SSL handshake succeeds but the connection then bombs out, closed by PCNVR. I suspect the same is happening with the cameras, though why it has suddenly started is anyones guess. -
Hikvision 2032-I Events, (GMail) Email Error?

I'm running PCNVR v1.03 and it fails to send emails also. PCNVR has somehow screwed up the sending of emails direct from the camera also. -

It's not a gmail change. I've tried with gmail, yahoo, outlook.com and my ISP and all fail. -

Thanks. Did you do anything to get it working again, or did it just spring into life after a period of time? -
Hikvision 2032-I Events, (GMail) Email Error?
Scoobs72 replied to catseyenu's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm having exactly the same problem here across 3 cameras. After having to reboot PCNVR several times email no longer sends from the cameras. I've even reset one the firmware on one of them to no avail. Have you managed to fix this catseyenu? -
Hikvision Face Detection and Line Traversal in 5.1.6
Scoobs72 replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Maybe I'm not configuring it correctly. You have to leave motion detection still enabled still - correct? Or do you turn motion detection off completely and enable one of the new methods instead? -
Hikvision Face Detection and Line Traversal in 5.1.6

I'm using the latest 6.3.3341 (+DSM 5, latest version) with the Hik driver from the device pack. -

That's been my experience too. Nothing I do gets Synology Surveillance Station capturing Traversal, Face Detection or Intrusion Detection. -
Hikvision Face Detection and Line Traversal in 5.1.6
Scoobs72 replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I've tried the same here (motion detection on and off) and neither work too. In terms of false hits, I've managed to get mine down to zero on all my cameras. Use Expert Mode, set daytime sensitivity to 15 (anything above gives me false positives with sun/clouds. Anything below and detection is missed) and set the percentage of the area to a suitable 'human' size. Nighttime false hits are more of a problem though.
