slowmod01 started following MP camera w/bnc or rca video out and Security Camera World / SCW WARNING!!!
-
not sure why it displayed in b&w originally, but when I actually installed it today the svc output was in full color. accomplished exactly what I was looking for, again thanks for the input
-
got the camera (thing is massive) and got everything hooked up and functional on both the svc output and ip feed, only question is should the image be black & white on the service feed or did I miss a setting somewhere? IP stream looks normal / good.

I figured it would require some modification to plumb the wires through, but that's not a big deal. got a DS-2CD2732F-IS ordered. thanks for the recommendation.
-
awesome, thanks!

would prefer to stay around the $300 range if possible. on those Hikvision's, is that a test plug on the board for the bnc? what few pics I have found showing the camera with the cables online are only showing network and power pigtail.

ok, I am back on this again. I hit a dead end last time as my hybrid nvr ran out of camera spots, I have since moved to BI and have two analog domes to replace that also need to interface with an in-wall monitor. can anyone recommend a decent priced dome MP camera with a bnc and/or composite output? the two referenced above were bullets, these will be within reach of a normal height person.

Anyone familiar with it? maybe have contact info for a vendor for add'l client licenses.. thanks!

I realize many of the pro's here would not use vendors such as this, but at the same time I know a lot of home users use this site for general info and many times end up here by a google search- I suggest anyone looking to purchase from them to move on to another company and save yourself the headaches! I want to start by saying that I install on the side for residential, commercial, and some manufacturing. I have been dealing with this company for over 5years and have pushed $25k+ their way over that time. over the past year I have watched this company steadily decline, they no longer call back my clients on tech support calls (or answer the phone or emails for that matter). I had placed a licensing order with them 1.5 months ago via phone sales, when they emailed me the invoice it had a $15 ups freight charge on it for an electronic delivery item. I immediately called back my sales person- he did not answer, emailed him - no reply. over 45 days later, 10 phone calls/vm's and countless emails I still have no returned calls or licenses. they have an outgoing message on their voicemail system that they are having phone system problems, that message has been on there for about a month now. They claim on their website to be a BBB+ member, according to the BBB page they are not a member at all. I also question what relationships they claim to have with all the corporations listed on their homepage. I am left with an extremely irate customer and possibly a now useless system so I have disputed the cc charge, registered a complaint with the BBB, and now am following up on multiple forums. I will get my payback..

long range video intercom for gate
slowmod01 replied to slowmod01's topic in General Access Control Discussion
can you recommend a video intercom as well? what I have been seeing is primarily direct wire, not network/cat5 or 6 based. -
Looking for Ideas on a long range gate control / intercom.. prefer video and of course gate open button. the gate is located approximately 1300' (wooded) from the home, wired or wireless will work. what little I have found online seems to cut off around 330-600ft. Any suggestions? thanks!

sorry to double-post, but maybe this will have better luck here.. is there a such thing as a semi-decent lower end ip camera that has both both network and bnc? I'm looking for $200-300 range with night vision, 1-2MP, preferably dome. dahua / qsee / or similar would work. I can find them all day long in the $500 range, just not lower, as most sites fail to list complete specs.

Dahua ipc-hdbw3300 is a good example at around $380. not sure if i can post links but will try to post the amazon link, click the third pic down and you will see cat, audio, video, bnc, power. even just an rca video will work as i can dump that back to bnc. http://www.amazon.com/Dahua-IPC-HDBW3300-Megapixel-2048Hx1536V-Resolution/dp/B00AUF8SOA/ref=pd_sim_p_8 the idea here is a few of my current cameras split off at the dvr through a bnc "t" connector and covert into RCA, which then dumps into a video splitter and to multiple in-wall 8" screens that allow viewing of the specific cameras at multiple points in the house. going to strictly IP would lose this ability. Another issue is three cameras are on second detached garage in which the siamese cable was piped under ground (sidewalk, borders, shrubs, and now a 5yr old semi-mature tree). only one network cable was run, which feeds a computer. I could put a poe switch out there, but i would also have to add a battery backup to it. with BNC i can dual feed the hybrid NVR and power the camera through the siamese that is already on a battery backup.
