Dahua NVR won't record motion
algilson replied to algilson's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks for this -- it got me thinking about how else I could check if MD was working in the camera. I set the cameras to email me upon motion detection, and nothing was coming through. I enabled the health-check email, and for sure it was showing up, but nothing for motion detection. Turns out that I had set the cameras for MJPG format for whatever reason, and hadn't set them back to H.264. For motion detection to work they needed to be H.264. We're all good again! I was blaming the NVR, but after your insight, I realized it was at the camera level. Thanks again, - Al -
How would you improve this IR recording?
algilson posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have two systems -- one at work, and one at home. My home camera picked up some activity a few nights ago, and I wondered if there's anything that you would have done to make this recording better: The system used is a Dahua HWF3200S feeding an iCode iCatcher server. The frame rate at the time (I believe) was 4 FPS, which I have since increased to 10. What else could be done to make this better? Thanks, - Al -
Dahua NVR won't record motion
algilson posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'll try to explain this as best as I can: We have 8 Dahua cameras: 3x HFW3200s and 5x HDW2100s as well as a Dahua NVR3216. When we first got the system, the cameras were all PAL, and the NVR was NTSC. It recorded motion fine. The camera firmware dates were all over the board, so I've updated them to a recent NTSC version that I found: 2.210.0001.0.R, build : 2013-05-17. While doing that, I figured I'd update the NVR to the latest version as well -- but accidentally updated it to PAL, as I didn't notice that it was PAL firmware - General_NVR3xxx_Eng_P_V2.610.0000.5.R.20130525 (still looking for NTSC if anyone has it?). Since then, I cannot for the life of me get the the NVR to record motion. I've done a "Default" reset on the NVR, and have reconfigured everything. I can have the cameras record on schedule without any issue, and the playback works fine. I simply can not get the motion detect to work. If I change the schedule to manual, the cameras record all the time, but if I change it back to motion detect, they don't record. I've tried changing the sensitivity (threshold?) from 1 to 6 and I've also tried changing the masks from all squares covered to all squares uncovered. Nothing seems to work. Any pointers? Thanks, - Al -

Would still love a NTSC version if anyone has one? Thanks, - Al

Anyone have the NTSC firmware for an NVR3216? Trying to track down why my NVR isn't recording. - Al

Dahua IPC-HFW3200S Low IR after Firmware update
algilson replied to algilson's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
As an update, I upgraded the firmware in the camera to 2.211.0000.0.R, build : 2013-07-26 and the image has corrected itself again. Whew. -
This new one works and I can confirm that my camera updated. Thanks for fixing and posting this! - Al

I downloaded the file twice but couldn't get it to load on my camera. Says bad file format. I also can't unzip it. Anyone else have any luck? File also seemed a tad small at 10.3 MB vs 12.8 MB for the May 17 2013 release. - Al

Dahua IPC-HFW3200S Low IR after Firmware update
algilson posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
On the front of my house is mounted a Dahua IPC-HFW3200S which records the driveway and my vehicle. The camera worked great until I flashed the firmware to version 2.210.0001.0.R, build : 2013-05-17. After the firmware update, the image seems very dark: It used to be a beautiful image that allowed me to see my vehicle, etc. I've tweaked some of the settings which have made a bit of difference, but it's still not ideal: I've set the camera back to it's default settings and reconfigured everything and it's still the same scenario. So... does anyone have any ideas on how to get that image back? The daytime image is fine. All of the IR's are lit up at night. Can someone send me an older (2012?) based firmware that I can flash the camera back to? I'm running NTSC if that helps.
