Hi folks I would really appreciate some help and advice for anyone who is familiar with the Jpeg 2000 standalone DVR. I got one 8 channel with a 500gb drive. At default settings and on continuous/emergency record I am only able to go back as far as 1 day to view any recorded footage. It is set to overwrite when the HDD is full but the green light saying HDD full is on after around a day or so and stays on? I have reduced the quality to enhanced from super fine but this hasn't made a difference. Also what is the difference between Schedule recording and emergency recording as in the manual it says they both record 24/7?Surley even on continuous recording I should be able to get at least 4-5 days recorded? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi cctv man. Did you get the PM's I sent you? It's really frustrating this.I tried what you suggested initially and it kept going back to the same date all the time.(Just the one date)What we are trying to achieve is for it to record 24/7 and get more than a couple of days worth of footage which I'm sure we should be able to do with a 500GB drive? What I'm not "getting" is the times that are to be entered in schedule record. In the manual it says "Set recording type for each recording time interval for a day of the week (2 hours interval)" Can you have a look here page 32 for me please?http://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/pdf/dvr-manuals/JPEG-Dual-Codec-DVR-Manual.pdf

Is anyone familiar with the jpeg 2000 and how to set it up?I would really appreciate any help.I reset it to default and in "schedule record" there were lots of cc's.I cleared everything but it didn't help?

Hi folks, I'm still having problems with this. The problem is that I don't know how to set up Schedule Record? Could anyone tell me how to set this up so it records 24/7 please? The thing is if it is no recording in "schedule record" then it reverts to "emergency record" at full resolution and I only get 2 days worth of recorded footage. The quality is fine it's just getting it set up properly so that it records 24/7.If we can get a week or so of footage that would be fine? ANY help is much appreciated.P.s here is the manual if it helps. http://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/pdf/dvr-manuals/JPEG-Dual-Codec-DVR-Manual.pdf See page.32

When set to schedule you do not need to push record button bud That is what the issue possibly is on your unit It will record by its self as per scedule wether its motion or perminant Can you tell me how to set up schedule record so that it records 24/7 continuously please?

I've tried resetting to default settings but once I press record it goes into emergency "Red light" record. If it would just record for more than a couple of days it would be fine.I gather this is because in 2emergency mode" it records at full(super fine)quality? The thing is I'm not really sure how the "Schedule record" should be set up if I still wish to record 24/7?

Hi folks, Can anyone see anything in this picture of "Schedule Record" that would cause the machine to only record in "Emergency Record"?According to the manual the jpeg 2000 should with default settings record 24/7 in Schedule Record but it's only recording in Emergency Record 24/7 and I think this is why it's using up so much disc space and only going back a day and a half? It says that the schedule record settings should have an interval of 2 hours/day but I would like it to record 24/7. Again any help would be much appreciated. Thanks folks!
-
Hi.It's recording in "Emergency record" with the red light so it records 24/7.Apparently in default mode it should record in Schedule mode 24/7 but I can only get it to record on emergency mode. The settings of the record configuration areOverwrite -on Multiplex -Duplex Quality-Enhanced Resolution-100ips@720*288 Record in Alarm-1/1X Record in Motion -1/1X Continuous Record -1/1X Here is a picture of "Schedule setup" settings. As far as I can see there aren't any?Any help/advice would be much appreciated.Still only able to go back just over 24 hours of recorded footage!

100ips@720*288 is the resolution.Thanks.

Hi folks, any help and advice would be much appreciated. My mum's looking to purchase a new CCTV system for her business. She is upgrading from the old jpeg 2000 standalone DVR that she's had for years as it's starting to fail! I've explained that backing up to a USB is much "better" but she is used to burning it to a CD-R from the built in CD-RW and she would like to be able to back up to CD-R and view it without the need for a laptop etc. My first question is this.Is there anything available that still uses the ability to back up to an internal CD-RW these days?I've checked ebay etc and can't find anything similar? She would be perfectly happy with another jpeg 2000 DVR if I can get one for her I seen this and was wondering if anyone here has tried it and what the quality is like compared to the jpeg 2000?Surley it would be better? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-Channel-CCTV-DVR-Network-Video-Recorder-Camera-D1-H264-320GB-to-2TB-HDD-/171046434769?pt=UK_CCTV&var=&hash=item27d32977d1 Thank you folks.

Hi Tom,thanks for your help. That system looked very similar to the ones I had been looking at but only even cheaper?Could you tell me what a dahua unit is please? No guidelines to follow no.It's a self run business. All I am looking for is a reliable system that will record fairly good quality and will "do it's job".The JPEG 2000 worked well but is maybe just a bit dated now? Something around the £200 mark that's fairly reasonably good should be just fine.Another thing is my mum's got to operate it so something not to technical. Also could somebody tell me the difference with an OS based system like Linus as opposed to the jpeg system. If possible I would like to keep it simple for her as she knows how to work the jpeg 2000 just fine. Also what would be the main benefits of updating the JPEG 2000 to something more modern. Thanks folks. -

Hi £116 then take price of hard drive off that's £30 for a dvr ..... So don't expect it to work and don't expect to be able to use footage in a uk court What is your budget ..... That's the best way to help you. Also your ebay link ........ Just because it says uk don't believe the seller is ......... Have a read in negative and I would say that is from china I know that's why I'm a bit weary! To be honest we're only looking to spend around £200.Do you think I would be better buying a new drive for the current JPEG 2000 standalone system we have? The only thing is it only backs up to cd-r and I then have to convert to AVI(If required to do so)May be worth mentioning that it is to be used for recording/monitoring at my mothers business. This one is just over £200 does this "seem" ok?I posted this link before as someone on here provided a link to their site? http://www.bigbrothersystems.com/p/8-channel-h264-dvr-full-d1-recording-1tb-hdmi-1920-x-1080-resolution-full-hd-vga-tv-out-577.php -

Hi folks.Sorry it's just that I don't want to purchase something that isn't going to work. The cameras we have are old(At least 8 years old)so they aren't going to record in HD or anything. What about this one. It's branded "Kongtop" and costs £116.89 with a 1TB HDD.Does it look ok?Obviously at that price it isn't going to be "top of the range" but should it record ok? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KONGTOP-8CH-8-CHANNEL-REALTIME-NETWORK-CCTV-SURVEILLANCE-DVR-VIDEO-RECORDER-H264-/171003158637?pt=UK_CCTV&var=&hash=item27d095206d If you were on a budget which of the 3 would you buy if you had to?Thanks folks. -

Hi folks. We have a jpeg 2000 Stand Alone DVR CCTV system. Last week it started beeping and saying there was no HDD detected.I opened it up and made sure the connections were secure and it now recognizes the Hard drive ok however it used to be able to play back and see as far back as a week or so worth of recording dates and now it is only going as far back as the following day? I set to factory default and cleared hdd and set time/date etc.The record light is red and(as far as I know)is set to record continuously? I would really appreciate if anyone could offer any advice as to what the reason for this could be? Thank you in advance. -
