I have sold 100s of EB1304net and I never had problem getting it connected to the Internet from remote access. I have used both DHCP and Static IP address... I have also use DDNS on it and it works just fine. You might have defective unit. Try calling the company you bought the unit from and maybe they can help you out.

I had some problem getting AVerMedia's POS box to work with Ruby Verifone. If you are working with Ruby Gas station POS, then contact www.AVerMedia-DVR.com. After spending days on troubleshooting, I talk Sonny at CCTVMegaStore and he was able to help me by getting me couple adaptor, which made my AVerDigi POS box to work with Ruby.

I have not had to use AVerMedia support that much for the most part, as their products have been very stable. However, I have called Aver few times and don’t remember having any issues with the support. In fact I was very impressed with the fact they even have the support in USA. This was before I switched to one of the AVerMedia distributor who specializes in AVerMedia products and they are listed and recommended by AVerMedia as their #1 dealer/distributor in US. Now, I don’t even have to call AVerMedia support since I am able to get all the help I need from their distributor. Keep in mind that I sell over 20k a month in AVerMedia products alone and I would go out of business if I was dealing with your retailer. You must have bought the DVR from one of the retailers who are what I call "box pusher" for a nickel and dime. And they don't have any technical expertise or loyalty to the product or the company. Far as your issue, I recommend that you switch to WD hard drive. My AVerMedia distributor told me that they have had problems with Seagate drives in past and I noticed that all their DVRs comes WD drives. If you don't mind I like to know the name of the retailer you purchased your AVerMedia Product from, so we are all aware of them for our future purchase. I will have my distributor look into your matter as to why your issue was not looked at. I think the problem is that some of the retailers and dealers don't take any responsibility of the product they sell and just sale anything that they can make few dollars off of and not learn/research on what will work the best with the product they are selling.

I agree with you 100%. I have sold many of EB1304Net unit and they work great. Even AVerMedia DVR cards.

I have gone both routes... I have sold SA servers to few of mine customers and they work great! (nice looking box) and I have also bought pre-build system from iLink, which is one of the largest AVerMedia's distributor in USA and very highly recommend by them. Far as different options depends on what you are looking for. I use to build my own DVR and found that it's much easier to just buy the pre-build DVRs as they are design and build for 24x7 DVR applications. Yes, I did save few dollars when I build my own DVR, but end up spending a lot of time in building and supporting it. With the pre-built or at lease the once I buy have same image, easier to get support. Far as my recommendation is to either get one of the SA server or get the Pre-Build DVR from one the AVerMedia's distributor this way you know that built right. I am not sure what more information you are looking for, but I have sold many AVerMedia DVRs so let me know if you have any specific question.

Go under Setup - system and you select which cameras you want to display out of TV out port of the DVR card. I just tested it with my NV5000 system and I have done what you are looking for on NV6480exp card but I don't that system in front of me.

AVerMedia Express DVR Board will work. For 8 channels NV6240Exp-8, for 16 channels you can use either NV6240-16 or NV6480Exp. AVerMedia also has direct support for IP and Mega Pixel cameas.

AVerMedia DVRs support Vista with 5.7.0.0057j. However, I wouldn't trust running security type application on Vista for at lease another 6 months to a year.

I just purchased 30x optical zoom High speed PTZ with WDR Day/Night from my vendor and they are great quality and very low cost. PM me, if you need the information of my vendor.

I think if you stop recording and then unplug will avoid that message. I'll check with iLink Professionals, where I buy all my products from and will try to get back to this post.

Check out iEB1304Net from AVerMedia. I think it will do what you are looking for.

Since you are looking for night time, you might want to think about getting Infrared Day/Night cameras.

Pre-built AVerMedia PC based system that I buy from iLink Professionals comes with 5TB internal storage with SATA technology. Same system also has an external port to connect more SATA drives and/or USB drives. I think SATA HDD connected to external port can also be RAID without an additional RAID controller. Your option in above post "I was looking at a SATAII to iSCSI RAID that can handle 16TB in one unit and can connect to 3 computers. Have you used this type of setup or similar?" should work just fine. I have connected customers network storage (my customers' IT dept. had purchased those drives before they got DVR) for higher storage with iLink's PC Based DVR and they worked fine, and it's been working from almost one and a half year now, without any problems. From what I was told by some of the iLink dealers at iLink's quarterly training, that they have install DVRs for traffic monitoring, court houses, Police stations with huge amount storage.

Information is there for full 1920x1200, but the image is resized to 800x600. Record the image/video with 800x600 mode and do a digital zoom and then compare it with the video that is recorded with 1920x1200 mode set and you should see the difference. I know it's confusing, but I think AVer is going to take care of that in 7.3 version, which is coming out in a month.

I have used AVerMedia DVR cards with motion and sensors and they work real well.

Your welcome Rorry. I have not use the 32 port standalone unit, but it seems like this unit is also based on NV6480exp. It should be pretty stable as I have built and sold many PC based DVR w/ two NV6480Exp-16 (32 ports) and been very happy with it. I agree, AVerMedia and this 32 pot standalone units are not going anywhere, anytime soon.

I still have access to it, but I only have Vivotek's 1.3 MegaPixel in stock, which I'll test it out. Let me know if you have any other brand of MegaPixel camera on public network and I will connect it, so you can play around with it. I know it's not going to be same over the internet, but it's better then nothing.

Yes, I have sold one unit thru. CCTVMegaStore and It's built-on NV6480Exp-16. It's a great unit and it has all the features of NV6480Exp with an additional touch pad, Jog shuttle and support for I think 16 video loop monitors. Nice looking box.

AVerMedia has SA standalone DVRs in 16 ports and in 32 ports. http://www.aver.com/dvr/eb.html . AVerMedia has CM3000 software, which comes free with all of their DVRs that lets you connect up to 16 DVR system from single system, just incase if you want to go with two 16 port standalone DVR, as Rory recommended.

I have installed many NV5000 DVR cards, but I have never seen that. I know that AVerMedia recommends Vista Professional which may or maynot be the problem. Also, make sure you check for the following: 1. 128MB video card either Nvidia or ATI work real well with most upto date drivers, and NO on-board video (this is true for most DVR cards) 2. Intel 915 chipset or higher motherboard 3. make sure that you have 7.1.0.0057j release. which can be downloaded from iLink Professionals' websit at: http://www.ilinkpro.com/support/downloads.asp?nav=support&pg=downloads . AVerMedia USA still has the older version, which is 7.1.0.0057g posted (Please let me know if this fixes your problem, for future support) Press F1 on the main screen to find out which software version you are running.

I recommend that you stack three 32 ports DVR Systems, and use software like Central Management to manage/watch all 96 cameras from single. Keep the stability in mind, and don’t just look for a DVR that can provide you with the most port in a single system. I am sure you already know this, but this a video/graphics driven application, which requires a lot processing power, hard drive, creates a lot I/O and requires higher watts power supply with longer MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), as the DVRs are running 24x7 with heavy load. AVerMedia makes really nice 16 ports PCI Express DVR cards, that you can you stack two in a system to make 32 channels. It also comes with free CM3000, which allows you to connect 16 DVRs. With CM3000 you can watch 128 cameras at the same time on two monitors (CM3000 supports four monitor, but other two must be use for either E-Map or Playback and for alarm events).
