Best DVR solution for 31 Camera setup
sajaan458 replied to mpr86's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I agree with Rorry, 32 ports in real time on one system will create a lot of I/O and system may not be very stable. I have not seen any DVR that can record 30fps per channel in D1 resolution. I use AVerMedia DVRs and they have PCI Express 16 port DVR card, which can display/record 30fps per channel with 640x480 mode. You can also stack two AVerMedia 16 port express DVR cards in one system. -
Test Monitor w/Power
sajaan458 replied to ClosedCircuitCom's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I am able to power up my DC cameras right from the battery pack of my test monitor, which I bought from iLink Professionals while back. Here is the link, if you want to check it out and see how they are doing it. I think it was under $300 with digital panel. One think I really liked about my test monitor that I can just wear it around my arm while I am up on the ladder. http://www.ilinkpro.com/proddetail.asp?prod=iLCDTV35 -
If you only have four cameras, then I would strongly recommend to go with EB1304Net which is a great unitl and I have install many of those unit. if you want to see the remote demo you can connect to EB1304net.iLinkPro.com. User id: user and password is: 111111

In the web view, click on remote setup button on the right side of the screen, button has a picture of screw driver and hammer. If you are at the site you can also change configure with your remote control. Far as the right-click option, I think it only works in PC Based DVR. I think they have one manual for both PC Based and EB1304net stand alone DVRs and both of them look very similar from remote. Also, download the remote console which is second last icon. Remote console gives you even better quality then web view.

FYI: AVerMedia also work with JAVA 2.0 or higher...

I am going to iLink Professionals tomorrow and they have new 7.3 beta install in there R&D Lab, and I'll check if the new release has made any improvements on exporting video to disk in an AVI or MPEG file. I am assuming that you are talking about exporting video to disk in an AVI or MPEG format, which requires the converting of the video. I’ll try to post an update in day or so. If you are referring to something else then please update your post.

You have to install OSD software which is on the CD. OSD will not work if you use two monitors and OSD must be installed after you install DVR software.

I don't think even Geo works with Mac, maybe Rory can reply to this message. I would post this question in Geovision forum.

I have installed many PTZ cameras with AVerMedia DVRs and never had any problems. Which Protocal are you trying to connect with AVerMedia? I recently connected Outdoor high speed 27x WDR IP PTZ camera from iLink Professionals, and even that worked fine. I would double check the configuration and make sure that your ID, Protocol and baud rate is set right.

NV6000 with DOM is being discontinue and from what I understand is that AVerMedia at this point do not want to release DOM by itself (as I think they are trying to push there SA series product) but that my change. By the way I have couple of PCI NV6000-16 channel with DOM in stock if someone wants it.

Sinbad: Click on this link from AVerMedia and scroll down to where it says System requirement. http://www.aver.com/dvr/nv6480exp_spec.html This was added later on and I think turbo option was also added in new release. Make sure you have 7.1.0.0057j which is not on AVer's Site but you can downloaded it from www.iLinkPro.com under support. Hope this helps.

Rory: Nice Post... you always have interesting reply AVerMedia DOM: There is not enough demand for DOM. AVer did have the NV6000 PCI DVR card with DOM, but I think they didn't move many units so they stop coming out with DVR with DOM option. Plus, they are using DOM for SA server so they want to keep that option for SA servers only, as of now.

I use vivotek cameras wth AVerMedia 16 port DVR. I know it's a hardware solution Hybrid DVR which also works with IP cameras but most good NVR cost more then getting AVerMedia 5000 with video three video ext.

User id and password BOTH are case sensitive, double check that.

AVerMedia does not recommend using VIA chipset. They recommend Intel 915 chipset or higher. In past I did have Eyespro, NV3000 and NV5000 to work with VIA chipset, but this was long time ago and I strongly recommend using Intel 915 or higher chipset.

I was in the same boat far as building PC for Goe & AVer DVR, then I found a company who I can buy properly build PC with AVer DVR card. They have over 18 years computer/IT experiance and they been doing CCTV for last 8 years. They are # 1 recommend company by AVerMedia USA. I have already gone thru the route you are on; buying Dell PC and or building my own PC. I first thought that I would save money by building my own PC or buy Dell, but not really. Now, I spend more time in selling and installing the DVR then building and supporting it. I have sold few 100s pre-build PC-DVR system from this vendor and they work real well. I'll PM you the information on this company and they are also listed on AVer's web site. FYI: They don’t sale Geo system any more and I stop using Geo since I got my first AVer System.

Expertise needed: Best Card / Software for POS at Gas Statio
sajaan458 replied to mburris's topic in Geovision
I don't know about the Geovision, but I was able to get AVerMedia DVR with POS capture box to work with Ruby Verifone Gas Station POS register. So far I have it installed in about 10 Gas station. Out the box it didn't work but my vendor was able to get me couple of adaptor which were less then $10 to go with AVerMedia DVR & POS Capture box which was well worth the investment. -
what standalone does everyone like under $2,000
sajaan458 replied to acableconnection's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Far as standalone I like EB1304Net which is great for residential market, since it's small and fan less unit and because most people end up putting the DVR in there bed room it make sense to have a unit that is low noise. Also, what I really like about that unit is that it has VGA port and build in web server where you can view the DVR right from the browser. Central management (CM3000) software which is free with the unit let you watch up to 16 AVerMedia standalone and/or PC based system and from remote CM or browser view you can't tell the difference between Standalone and PC based DVR. If I have to pick between standalone or PC based then I would pick PC based any day, any time, as long as it's build and configured properly. If you purchased the DVR that is build by right technical company and configured properly you can get the best of both world standalone and embedded. PC based system can be locked as much if not more then standalone DVR and with PC based DVR you get a lot more options, feature and have a lot flexibilities when it comes to upgrade, etc. Vendor I get my PC based DVR does a great job in building very strong, secure and stable AVerMedia based DVR for very good cost. They (my vendor) not only has over 8 years of DVR experience, but over 18 years of Computer/IT background and they employ very qualified tech with proper certifications like Microsoft Systems Engineer, MCT, A+ and more.... I am not trying to market my vendor but because of PC based DVRs build by unqualified individuals and companies who things that just slamming bunch of cheap computer parts or putting a DVR card in a cheap Dell desktop is enough to host/ run critical security application which in turn is giving bad name to PC based DVRs. Most people dont' realize that standalone DVR are also running on almost same hardware as PC based DVR except those hardware have a lot less resources and in most cases have old board, memory and processors and are very slow to operate. Standalone are great for some application, but for the most part I would use PC based DVR. From my personal experience you can’t really build large, robust and powerful DVR solution with Standalone DVR. FYI: I have sold many AVerDigi NV6480 PCI Express DVR card and they work great! -
It does record and backup full resolution, but it resizes the image to 800x600 when you backup. When you zoom you will notice that full resolution and the pixel are there just like how the Mega Pixel camera is or was originally set at the time of recording.

From what I remember is that you can use one port on NV3000 for IP cameras but I'll confirm with my vendor if that has changed in new release and try to get back to you but here is the link from AVer Global web site and from the Vendor I buy from and they both mention IP Support for NV3000. http://www.avermedia.com/EN/Default.aspx?TYPE=vipplayercard.htm&PT=product&tv_TCAT_POS=0&CATNO0=B&CATNO1=BC&CNT=1&PID=2353 http://www.avermedia-dvr.com/proddetail.asp?prod=NV3000

I use the one listed in this link: [edit by mod-store link removed] from last six months and so far it's been working well. What I really like about this TFT LCD service monitor is that it comes with wearable pouch for hands-free operation (look at the picture on that link and you'll see what I am talking about), you can power the camera from the LCD and it has Digtal Panel so quaility is great compare to the once I pruchased before. You can get it even cheaper then what is listed on the web site if you become a dealer with them. Hope this information helps because, I have bought few different service monitor in past from the couple of vendor I meet at ISC west and they seem to go bad really quick and the quaility was not all that.

NV7000 is discontinued product but I just called my friend at iLink and they have few in stock for very low cost. Here is the Link: [edit by mod-please refrain from posting links to stores, please PM the user if you have a recommendation)

I agree with Joeb, go with the IP cameras and integrate those cameras with NVR. AVerMedia NVR and AVerMedia HYBrid DVR supports most of the mfg. Joeb listed on his post. I have Used AVer Hybrid DVR with Vivotek . Axis and Arecontvision.

I buy my products from www.CCTVMegaStore.com. I been very happy with their products and prices. Talk to Nick and I am sure he can work out a good deal for you. As of yesterday he had some new 1/3 Sony High res cameras which they order as sample from Taiwan. Nick is trying to finish those cameras as they don't carry those cameras since they have another model camera which is similar mfg/ssembled in Taiwan by iLink. I bought 10 inferred outdoor cameras last month and they are working real well especially for the price I got it for. hope this helps out.

Yes, you can have real time 30fps with 640x480 mode as long as you have Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor or higher. I have sold many of those card and they work great and have not had any problems with it. NV6480Exp works fine with even lower processor as long as you are not running 30fps at 640x480 mode. I use those cards for 32 ports system all day long. Sold over 50 cards so far and have no had single one bad or any complaint. Compression supported: Software compression with MPEG4 or H.264.
