See the link below for Aver supported IP & Mega Pixel and the resolution they support on Mega Pixel cameras. From what I understand from one of the rep at iLink Professionals that it will display and record on the resolution listed in the link and it will keep the recording in that resolutions. It will also keep that resolution if you do the backup by going into setup - backup but, if you use playback and output the clip/segment of video to AVI it will convert it in to 800x600. Link: http://www.avermedia-dvr.com/dl/IPnMegaPixel%20Camera%20Support%20List.pdf iLink seem to be very knowledge about Aver products and I know Aver USA and Aver HQ in Taiwan works very closely with iLink as they been partners for very longtime. I will confirm the above post with iLink one more time. I was referred to them by Aver USA support while back. I will update my post in day or so if I get any update from iLink.

Does Geovision do anything about vendors who sale duplicate cards? Friend of mine has reported couple of companies via email to Geo but they didn't do anything about it and same companies are still selling them. Not a single reply from Geo... It almost seems like they really don't care. I also have a customer who came to me and told me that they were cheated and don't really know what to do about it... According to the invoice they didn't charge Tax as well...Any suggestions?

Geovision Gv-800 vs Avermedia NV5000
sajaan458 replied to topspin's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I have used both products and found AVer's software to be much easy to use from the end-user point of view and you can even use touch screen monitor. AVer has most of the feature that Geo has and they actually work (In past I have seen Geo would release a new feature Pre-maturely which I am not sure if that is still the case) Far as the video quality; I found AVer's New Express DVR (NV6240exp and NV6480EXP) has little better quality and on NV3000 & NV5000 quality is about the same. Again, this is just my opinion based on my observation and the feedback from my clients. -
I am glad that you were able to get that problem fixed.

Avermedia Versus Geovision, my personal review.....
sajaan458 replied to 501's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Rory: AVer does have SDKs. They have had the SDK out for very very long time. I got the first AVer SDK via CCTVMegaStore almost 2 years ago. You should try out one of the AVerMedia DVR and you will be surprise... I have used both Geo and AVer and there is a clear difference. -
Avermedia NV5000 disable send images when email after alarm
sajaan458 replied to topspin's topic in AverMedia
I just got an email from Sonny @ CCTVMegaStore and he was just told by AVerMedia Taiwan that they will add the feature in next release 7.3 early 2008. here is the reply from AVerMedia Network Video BU: "It’s possible, if everything is OK, we can have this function added into 7.3. You may expected in early 2008." -
Remote Console: once you see the remote console screen you have to click on network to start the video transmission... If you are getting a blue screen then make sure you you are using the recommended hardware (ex.don't use on board video and make sure your video card has min. of 64 ram 128 is recommended, make sure your windows is updated, etc.) As of now there are no bugs with the software (7.1.0.0057j which you can download from www.AVerMedia-DVR.com) and hardware and if you are using the proper hardware you shouldn't have any problem. I suggest you first call the company you purchase the DVR card from and if they are not able to help then call AVer. AVer USA tech support # is: 408-942-2121.

Avermedia standalones. Opinions please.
sajaan458 replied to photys's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I have sold many EB1304Net and they work real well. 1. VGA port works as good as BNC port but you can only use one port at a time. 2. CM3000 basic is free and you can connect 16 DVR and you can mix and match with Standalone and PC based. CM3000 ADV can be purchased which will allow you to connect 1000 DVRs 3. Here is the demo live demo link from the vendor I buy from: EB1304net.iLinkPro.com user id is: user and password is: 111111 4. It also comes with free Video Enhancer software and PDA software 5. Remote control has A-B option which allows you to stack two EB1304net 6. Last 50 units i got from my vendors works with Vista. EB1104 is a discontinue product. -

New to CCTV and my first large customer needs 20 Cam System

I agree with 501 I have sold many 32 port DVR with AVer's 6240exp x 2 and with 6480exp x 2 and they work great! -
I use AVerMedia's 32 Port DVRs and they work real well. Check out http://www.avermedia-dvr.com/products.asp?cat=57 .

One thing for sure that AVer's software is much easier to use then Geo and we get a lot less support calls from Enduser. At the end of the day it's our End user who ends up using the DVR. Few of our Endusers are using it with touch screen monitor. Also, we have found AVer boards to be a lot more stable then Geo and is why we end up switching to AVer few years ago.

FYI: They are working on Ethernet capture box just like how they came out with Etherne based I/O box. -
Port 80 is for Web view - If you want to view your DVR from browser then only open/forward port 80. Port 5550 is used for CM software and remote console: 1. CM comes on the CD which allows you to watch 16 DVRs from one central location great software. 2. Remote Console is something you can be downloaded from one of the icon once you connect via web view: Remote console app allows you to connect to single DVR without using a browser. Port 5555 is more for remote control which lets you take over the control for your DVR like PC Anywhere or VNC. Remote control is one of the feature/icon under CM software. If you are not planning on using CM/Remote console/remote control then you don't have to forward port: 5550/5555 If you want to use DDNS I would recommend you use the one that AVer provides for free for charge. If you are planning useing DDNS then I would recommend that you download the newest version 7.1.0.0057j from www.AVerMedia-DVR.com which also works with Vista.

sajaan458 replied to topspin's topic in AverMedia
As of now there is not a way to do that but I will forward your request to AVer to see if they can add that option in next release. -

Software to control both IP cameras and analog cameras
sajaan458 replied to briarwood's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
NV7000 would work but AVer is no longer supporting NV7000 so you will not be able to get updateds for NV7000. My recommendation is to go with NV6240exp or NV6480exp. Even NV5000 will work. -

Check out AVerMedia's DVRs. They support CCTV Analog, IP, IP PTZ and MegaPixel camera including Axis, Vivotek, etc. They have it in 4 - 32 port DVR cards as well as system. I think for your applicaton AVerMedia is only one I can think of which will work great. I am very happy with AVerMedia products but I like to see what are the other options just incase. -

Check with AVerMedia. When I was talking to one of the Techs' at AVer USA they said that for Autogas company they have come up with a small client to run on POS that sends the text to DVR's Ethernet via one of the TCP port and DVR displays it on which ever camera you map the text to. You can also then do search based on the text. Contact AVerMedia USA and they might be able to help you with this. -
I have purchased AVerMedia 32 ports video/audio 960fps display and 480fps record 1G HDD system for under $ 3500 and 960fps display and 960fps record for under $4200 US. It comes will alot of feature and what i really like about it is that very easy to use and everything is preinstall ready to go. Here is the web site [edit by mod-store link removed]. I buy it on dealer price so my cost is even lower. Hope this helps...

sajaan458 replied to CJ's topic in Security Cameras
I know of a company that sells great IP / Analog PTZ outdoor 27x Optical 10Digital Speed Deme with WDR+DSS Day/Night with two Ethernet port and BNC port w/ RS485 port. At one install I am using IP and BNC port both at the sametime without any problem and bought it for around $1295 as a dealer. PM or message me if you want the contact as I don't want to put it on this post as this is not an advertisment but a direct response to your question. I did check most of the company adv. on this forum but didn't come accross anyone who offers IP/Analog PTZ specailly in this price range. Demo IP Address is: 63.237.31.10 user id: demo password: ndvr and it's the CAMERA # 15 Hope this help. Sajaan -

DVR Card/Software Suggestion?
sajaan458 replied to gRoberts's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Also, check out AVerMedia DVR Card... I have used both Geo and AVer and I seem to like AVer DVR cards better since they are much easier to user (from end user point of you view) and from my PERSONAL experience they are very stable card compare to Geo... AVer use to make the boards for Geo where Geo is known as Software company and from last I talked to AVer they now have over 60 programs working on enhancing the product plus AVer cards are hybrid where you can connect traditional CCTV cameras or IP and now Mega pixel camera. I really like there new 4 port real time standalone DVR (EB1304Net) which does everything you are looking for and they are under $400 USD.... Far as web site request I can give you the demo site for AVer product from the company I buy from which is: http://www.ilinkpro.com/demo/demo.asp?nav=demo&pg=demo Hope this helps... regards, Sajaan
