  1. Hi, I am redoing the security for a business we just took over, and they had this Speco Technologies recorder in the storage room. Non of the current employees remember why it was used or what the password would be... So I'm trying to access the recorder so I can use it as a back up recorder. Can someone help me reset the password back to the default, I removed the battery, the hard drive, the ram... Still it doesn't reset the password. The numbers 1-8 are the only numbers I can use for a password. I've tried 1234,1111,4321,12345,123456,54321,654321.... What's even funnier is I can view all the video on the recorder I just can access any of the settings. The Speco model is DVR-8TN/160. I think the password is being stored in the ram if that's possible, because the system still loads even when the hard drive is our. Anyone could help me I would be most thankful! I know it's an old recorder, around 2007 but I hate to throw it out... Thanks again!
  2. Hi I am redoing security cameras in a business we just took over and they currently have two Samsung SPD-2200N PTZ out side that are hooked up by cat5e. The video is not clear and there is a lot of interference. It also gets worse when I turn on the Samsung Jostick to control the cameras. The cameras seem to have a lot of static and interference, and when I turn on the joystick the static increases. Any suggestion on what could be causing this problem. I don't believe this has always been like this, the cameras are about 6 years old. Do you think it's a power issues, they are both long runs, and have 24V DC power Supply. Video connected is Cat5e to a BNC patch, than BNC to the recorder. Any help on what to check to get a sharper, clear photo would be most thankful!
