Hello everyone,
I'm currently using a Q-See DVR system (4 channel) to monitor a job site, and have a couple questions.
The DVR is set up in a trailer with a PC beside it, and they are linked through a LAN with an ethernet cable. I 95% of the time use the computer remotely to view and use the Q-See program.
1. Is there a faster way to back-up selected files onto the job site PC FROM the DVR? It currently takes atleast 20 minutes per 30 minutes of footage, which is ridiculously slow. It's not the computer's processor speed, because I tried doing it through a crappy laptop and it took the same amount of time. Which leads me to believe it's something in the DVR's software.
2. I have certain times I want full recording and motion recording, and I have the times selected in the schedule and motion tabs. However, it's recording 24/7 no matter what I change. Anyone else had this problem, or know of something I can try to correct this? It's burning up the memory on the DVR, and as my question above implies, I can't keep up with the memory filling.
If there's any more info I need to supply please let me know, I'm quite new to CCTV systems, but I'm the only tech savvy employee in the company. So it's my baby now, heh. Thanks everyone!
