Does Security Software based on Linux System have market?
Sherry_c posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Recently some of our customers asked us whether we provide security software based on Linux System. Because we don't know how about the market of Linux system, we can't decide to develop a Linux system security software at once. All my friends, how do think about this case? Thank you very much! -

In fact, there are many DVR Card can record at 30fps. But the software is as important as the hardware. If the software has poor database structure will slow down even the good quality hardware. And also the features of software can fully realize the combination with all the hardwares such as Cameras, DVR Card, Alarm Host, Matrix, Speed dome and so on. Sherry www.ortvision.com -

If your cards are CIF card, the resolution can only reach 320*240. If you want to reach 640*480, you have to buy D1(4CIF) cards. But these cards are much more expensive than CIF cards. Sherry Chen www.ortvision.com -
Jem, how long do you run the surveillance system already? If the Harddisk is fulled with record file, the software can't record also. So i advise you clear the record file to see whether the system record again. Sherry www.ortvision.com

FPS is the abbreviation of Frame Per Second. For PAL, 25f/s is real time; for NTSC, 30f/s is real time. Take a 4channel card for example, we say this card is 120fps. That means for NTSC, the total frames for all 4channel are 120fps. Then each channel is 30f/s. And i think you PC specification is ok for 6channel system. You said that you want to connect 6 cameras, then you need use 1pcs 8 channel card or 2pcs 4channel cards. 4channel for realtime record and 2 channel for motion record. You can set the task in software. It's very easy when you know. Don't worry about it Hope i can be helpful for you. Sherry Chen www.ortvision.com

Looking for a good Hardware Compression board

Yeah, Hikvision cards can establish 32 system for one PC. You can use 2pcs DS-4016HCSI cards. And if you want to establish a 32channel system, you can't get D1 effect(D1=4CIF). Hikvision has 8ch D1 card now, but we can only establish a 16 channel D1 system. Because the PC can't load for 32 channel D1 system And the recommend system for 32 channel CIF system is: CPU: Intel Series Motherboard: based on Intel 845/865/915 chipset Memory: 256MB or above Display Adapter: Nvidia Geforce Mx400/420/440 serials, FX 5200/5600 GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon 7000/7200/7500/8500/9000 Serials. ATIX 700 Intel 845G/865G/915G integrated Graphics Controllers Sherry www.ortvision.com Skype: sherry_cw98
