    TV to DVR converter

Greetings, My Defender DVR security system has one RCA jack or VGA connection for video reproduction to a monitor or TV. My TV is an analog unit that will accept one RCA or S video connection. I tried the RCA jack (DVR to TV) and the video reproduction was marginal-read grainy. What I needed was a converter that went from the DVR VGA connection to my TV's S video connection. Amazon offers a $15 Generic (brand name) PC to TV converter. Unit comes with 4 different cables. Significant difference in video reproduction between a one wire (RCA) and S video (4 wire). This is NOT going to make a analog image into a digital video quality image. 300+ reviews, explanations, and advice. Thank you.

    Defender microphone

Greetings, Not understanding all the details involved, my question might be interpreted as how to get an orchestra from a ukulele. My security system is mfg. by Defender. Model #21101, eight cameras and a 1TB DVR. 1a. My question is in reference to sound, both volume and sensitivity. The DVR has just one input for one microphone and camera combination-only. The microphone I purchased from our good friends at Amazon is a VideoSecu (el cheapo) for >$8. The goal was to see if all the variables (DVR, wiring, connections, etc.) would even function. Works okay and wires into system. Unfortunately, with the volume on both the DVR and headphones at maximum, the volume is inadequate. Is there anyway to "juice" the volume with software and/or equalizer? 1b. The $8 microphone will do a respectable job of picking up the irritating sound of a car alarm chirp from a 40 foot distance. The lower (frequencies?) sound of the same vehicle at high idle is barely perceptible. Is there a specific type of microphone I need that will wire into the BNC (yellow) and female power jack camera wiring? 2. Someone gave a one word answer to a previous question about my wanting to add additional microphones (to the cameras) by using a "mixer". If this sounds advisable, could someone elaborate on a specific type of mixer. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post.
  3. Greetings, This question is in reference in adding two microphones and improving the video quality to my Defender Sentinel System-8 cameras,1TB, Model 21101. Each camera has two wires; 1 wire (BNC, yellow) to the DVR. The 2nd wire (RCA, red) connects to a 4 into 1 splitter to a 12v power module. The DVR back panel has ONE audio input. Can I purchase a 2 into 1 splitter for the two microphones I want to install, or am I limited to just one microphone? The video playback on my CRT TV is marginal (RCA input only). The Defender DVR has a VGA connection. Is there a VGA to RED, WHITE and YELLOW cable, and if so, would this improve video quality? Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
