What is the sensor size of your camera? 1/3" or 1/2" Small diameter C/CS mount mega pixel lens are difficult to find. M12 mount mega pixel lens are smaller than C/CS mount lens but difficult to adjust and focus. http://www.mars-cam.com/optical.html http://www.m12lenses.com/default.asp

  8. The Samsung SDC-435 analog camera has been discontinued and replaced by Samsung SCB-4000 (1/2" sensor) and Samsung SCB-2001 (1/3" sensor). The Samsung SDC-435 specifications show that 0.0001 Lux is with SENS-UP. Sens-up is useless with anything that moves faster than a turtle and will cause motion blur. The Samsung SDC-435 specifications show that 0.05 Lux @ 50IRE NO SENS-UP. This is the more real world, realistic minimum illumination spec. Samsung's SSDR (Samsung Super Dynamic Range) is their WDR implementation. Sony's ViewDR (visibility enhanced wide dynamic range) is their WDR implementation. Panasonic's Super Dynamic 5 is their WDR implementation. etc... Cameras optimized for low light are not great for bright light. Cameras optimized for bright light are not great for low light. There are many box camera enclosures that are waterproof and rated for IP66.

  10. What size lens are you using for facial recognition? What is the target distance? The cameras on your link look like general overview cameras with 4mm lens. Facial recognition requires a dedicated camera with quality zoom lens. With a proper sized quality zoom lens, facial recognition can be accomplished with just a 1MP camera. If you want facial recognition with a general overview camera, than you will need a very high resolution camera. Avigilon has 8, 12, and 16 MP cameras that are great for facial recognition in large areas such as stadiums, airports, and parking lots.
  11. Separate IR illumination is best. Allows best control of night time image. Helps reduce flying insects and spiders who like the heat source. Bosch makes the best IR illuminators. Their 940nm IR illuminators are true covert and not visible to the human eye. http://us.boschsecurity.com/us_product/02_products_3/st_bu_f_277305_tams_catalog_prod_us/st_section_f_278110_tams_catalog_prod_us/st_chapter_p_278110_tams_catalog_prod_us_277896

    RG-59 Siamese Quality Issues

If possible go big with that main conduit to the garage. I recommend 2" conduit for most installations for future expansion. Also, molded HDMI connector needs about 1" diameter space to pass through the conduit. For the TVs/Monitors in the garage...
  13. Any great value camera for situation number 2? I am not able to currently recommend a "value" WDR MP camera. I tested many cameras for WDR over 1 year ago to overcome a difficult and very bright mostly glass booth problem. The Sony SNC-CH140 box camera was able to provide a great image, regardless of how bright the background became. http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/product-SNCCH140/ WDR=130dB Sony's ViewDR (visibility enhanced wide dynamic range) is very good. As with all Sony products, expect high Sony pricing... Also, in general with most CCTV cameras, low light capabilities is slightly reduced when WDR is enabled...

    RG-59 Siamese Quality Issues

I recommend Belden 549945 Siamese cable for most analog camera installations. http://www.belden.com/techdatas/metric/549945.pdf Belden 549945 is very consistent and reliable. Comes in black or white and footage is sequentially marked every 2 feet. If you choose another brand, make sure the solid center conductor is pure copper and not copper coated steel. Copper coated steel is not recommended for CCTV and will cause "skin effect". http://www.belden.com/blog/broadcastav/Understanding-Skin-Effect-and-Frequency.cfm I use a magnet to check for the presence of iron/steel.

  17. I think you should test a HIKVision DS-2CD2332-I. If you do, you will see that my guess is correct. I tested that turret camera over 3 months ago. The rotational mechanism on the camera was difficult to adjust. The tilt was minimal, about 60 degrees of movement. Perhaps turret I had was mechanically defective... I do not have another turret camera to test. That turret failed my low light testing. I am currently working on 1.3MP low light dome camera shootout. Hikvision vs Avigilon (Lightcatcher) vs Axis (Lightfinder) vs Samsung Looking for a low cost, low light dome camera...
  18. That's not exactly correct. I am guessing that 0 degrees points straight down if mounted on the ceiling and straight out out from the wall when wall mounted. As the lens and part that provides the tilt are both able to rotate 360 degrees, it allows you to tilt 75 degrees in any direction. I have played with CCTV cameras for over 35 years. I have installed and tested many, many, many domes from most major manufacturers. Here are some domes on my test bench today. I never guess, I test...
  19. Not all domes mounts are created equal. 2 axis domes are usually ceiling mount only. 3 axis/gimble domes are ceiling or wall mount. The most flexible cameras have tilt of 180 degrees (can pivot 90 degrees to the right or 90 degrees to the left). Camera angle adjustment specifications can usually be found in the manufacture's data sheet.
  20. When wall mounting that dome, tilt is only 75 degrees. That is about 35 degrees to the right or 35 degrees to the left only. If you need more than 35 degrees, than matching wall mount bracket is recommended..
  21. Do you want to look "down the wall"?

  23. There are only a handful of low light IP cameras that are available today. These cameras are full sized box or full sized dome configuration. A small low light IP camera will be difficult to find. Mounting a camera behind glass is not recommended. viewtopic.php?f=53&t=31581&hilit=behind+glass Here is an option to consider...
