Julia & "CCTV Camera Shop" on Aliexpress
Boogieman replied to pipabix's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm not going to open all my old bookmarks, but I assure you that there's too many complaints about the website for me to take it seriously or want to part with big money that way. I'd rather support a trusted distribution chain and pay a little more money. Besides, waiting up to 28 days for delivery and then having to cover return costs if there's a problem, isn't an ideal trading platform for me. Here are a couple of the first links I found. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.alibaba.com http://andrewminalto.com/alibaba-scam-exposed/ The second link seems to be an article defending Alibaba, but just look at the comments at the bottom. This seems very much like ebay to me, where, with a careful eye, you can weed out most of the bad deals, duplicate accounts and fake goods - but unfortunately many people can't do this and make complaints. I would suggest a reputable seller would be a trusted CCTV distributor or wholesaler. This topic has been discussed to death (you are new here, there are thousands of posts on this topic)...there will be complaints about any website...There are pros and cons.....it varies by the end users specific needs. My point is there is no more credit card security risk by using ali vs any other popular web commerce site. There is a specific reason the OP was asking about Julia as she was a reputable merchant that he has purchased from in the past. -
Julia & "CCTV Camera Shop" on Aliexpress
Boogieman replied to pipabix's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Users who buy from reputable sellers dont have these issues. The seller does not get paid unless you approve the transaction. You credit card provides additional protection. As far as the credit cards being stolen the sellers NEVER get the card info. Ali is just as secure as ebay/amazon. -
Best free CCTV DVR software? Windows or linux doesnt matter
Boogieman replied to mxmaniac's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The blue iris mobile app is 10 dollars not 15. It is far superior to zoneminder...60 dollars is nothing for a vms... The zoneminder app is 4 dollars if you want remote event viewing... -
There are new 4mp and 2mp cameras from hikvision that are superior to these, particularly in low light / night.

Highest Camera Resolution to use with D1 DVR
Boogieman replied to burchis's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You will be wasting money...how much are you spending on the cameras...remember that a complete new system that will run on your old cable with but produce 1080p images is only 400...will blow away your old system. http://www.costco.com/Lorex-8-Channel-HD-Analog-DVR-with-2TB-HDD%2c-8-1080p-Cameras-with-130'-Night-Vision.product.100218592.html -
3mp only increases the vertical fov, there is no added clarity to the 1080p image (its negligible).... You dont need a second network card. As long as the pc and cameras are connected to the same switch, the traffic will not pass through your router. Generally a bitrate over 4096 does not yield better results...its a waste. You can run your cameras at 15fps, its more than enough...

Trouble with Dahua IPC-HFW4300SN Camera's

Recrimp your connections...does the problem always start at night? -
Like I said, they have many many cameras with high end zoom lenses. They have different needs and objectives than home and business owners. The fact that you dont understand that speaks volumes. Furthermore, when was the last time you were in vegas? Your 90 percent number is completely fabricated.
-
Also blurry/low resolution/useless. Not any more rugged that IP or CVI/TVI. It all depends on the manufacturer. Cheap junk analog is not rugged. Analog card is even worse. Its 2015, standard non hd analog should NEVER be installed. Both IP and CVI/TVI are very cheap. Analog system has been there for years. It comes down very very cheap, but rugged. 90% of Las Vegas still using analog. I do not think they are not experienced. Who can be out-smarted? 90 percent of vegas in not using analog. You need to come visit more often. The analog systems they do use are better that the 200 dollar systems you are recommending. They also use high quality zoom lenses with MANY MANY cameras. A homeowner is better off with 4-8 HD 1080p camera instead of installing 20-40 analog cameras. Analog should not be used in 2015 end of story. CVI/TVI if there is existing cable and its to expensive to replace. Anyone suggesting otherwise has an agenda, like sunnykim, who works for a company that sells analog junk. Shame.

Most common poe cameras from hikvision or dahua will only draw 4-7w even with IR on. You might want a camera with sd card if you are not going to use an NVR or VMS software package.
-
Why in the world would you install analog. Its 2015. 1080p HD should be baseline. POE can be run 100m at a minimum. 47m is nothing. Dont use garbage ebay copper clad aluminum (CCA) wire. Use copper.
-
While outside the spec, its certainly possible. Ive seen 500+ runs work fine. Use 23awg direct burial cat6. If it does not work, you can use something like this to extend range. http://www.veracityglobal.com/products/ethernet-and-poe-devices/longspan.aspx

please help unable to see cctv and port not open
Boogieman replied to imcool's topic in Computers/Networking
hello, that's what I did in isp router and tplink router, what wrong I have done? please tell me See if you can set your cable modem/router into bridge mode. -
If the distance from the home to the camera location is under about 300 feet then you can run a single ethernet cable (100m is the max length, that is from the POE switch) to power a single ip camera..you will need to get someone to bury the cable....will likely be less of a hassle than trying to power the camera via solar..

2 DVRS ON ONE MODEM? I can't view but 1?
Boogieman replied to naiefelyemeni's topic in Computers/Networking
Do you mean modem or router? You will need to change the external port numbers for one of the dvr's -
Analog low resolution should not be a consideration in 2015. You should be looking at 720p minimum (1080p preferable). IP or hd over coax (CVI/TVI)...start researching.

Flashing Hikvision firmware on LTS IP Cameras/NVRs?
Boogieman replied to minni1986's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I stand by my statements in my post. They are clear and concise. You can re-read my post if required, to try to more accurately understand what I stated. Don Donny, I stand by everything in my post as well. I guess that something that now need to be stated otherwise its assumed that the poster does not stand by what they said. Good to know. -
Flashing Hikvision firmware on LTS IP Cameras/NVRs?
Boogieman replied to minni1986's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You need to tftp the hik firmware. It's best not to "Kludge" LTS firmware with Hik firmware, at this time. A major firmware release for all Hikvision NVR's/DVR's is currently scheduled for release by the end of this month and another matching release for Hikvision IP Cameras is currently scheduled for the end of November. To make sure that ("non-crippled non-grey-market") Hikvision IP Camera equipment will better support new features across Hikvision product lines. Once these major firmware releases are found to be stable for the Hikvision product lines. OEM's like LTS will have working versions with many if not all of those new fixes, enhancements and features. Like the Hik firmware, but specifically for their OEM product lines. Whatever you do. Please! don't use "Kludged" Hik firmware to downgrade LTS products to older Hik firmware. You may regret doing that, sooner than later. It would be best/better to stay on any most current firmware you have for LTS products at the moment. Because of all this going on. Don Who said anything about "kludged" firmware. The camera will take standard hik firmware downloaded from hikvision usa website via tftp. -

Boogieman replied to naiefelyemeni's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
im sorry but this forum isnt helping me at all thats why i have seperate threads.. im just getting laughed at and disrespected with childish remarks.. and ive read many other posts to and i see the same childish remarks and bashing from the supposed " helpers" .. it seems to me like this forum needs a little speach from the moderators to help people without bashing them.. How does starting separate threads resolve that problem in any way? You still have not answered his question so he can help you. -

Does this seem high for POE cam installation?
Boogieman replied to kablam0r's topic in General Digital Discussion
The rate is good. Can you get the parts for less, sure. That is irrelevant though. When you get your car serviced they charge more for the parts as well. The guy needs to make some money somewhere. Will you expect him to come by and warranty the install if something is not working properly? Yes. Your other option is to hire someone to run the cable and do it all yourself if you are comfortable and know what you are doing. If not, leave it to someone who does. Confirm that the cameras and NVR are US region and fully upgradeable in the future. -

Wait of a dell business outlet sale. They routinely have the i7-4790 for under 500..As low as 429...follow the outlet twitter account. -
Why not keep that windows machine running? Makes not sense to buy an expensive apple machine simply to run VMS software.
