Tested and Trusted Analog cameras
Boogieman replied to benharuna's topic in General Digital Discussion
No one said anything about 4mp. IF you would bother to look at the links you would see they are for CVI 720p and 1080p cameras. Analog cameras are no more "rugged" than cvi or tvi....as evidenced by the failure of his current cameras..stop spreading misinformation. What we do know is that the cvi cameras will be MUCH clearer and crisper. If you would read my links you would see that he can get 24, 720p cvi cameras with two dvr's for 1000US... Disclaimer, SunnyKim sells D1 low resolution junk cameras and thats why he pushes them. He also claims that I work for costco....anyone who lives in the US can understand why that is insane. As an aside, anyone who can claim that you are cheated when buying 4mp cameras is not only lying, but clearly has no understanding of the technology. Sunnykim likes to post information to make it appear as though he understands camera technology but it is evident that he has no clue. He cant even see the difference between D1 and HD 1080p...maybe he is blind, in that case im sorry. Boogieman, go get the brand new vaccum at Costco. Cameras work for 24/7/365. No TVs, Cars, Vaccums do not work like that. Hot /Warm/Cold/Rain/Strom, even in the lightening. Please do not bame cheap cameras. Still being our good neighbors. Too cheap to support Counterfeits. Thus being trashed / insulted by Boogieman. PLEASE get a better translator. Vacuums? we are talking about cameras here. Please dont buy any cheap junk SunnyKim tries to sell you via PM. There are no counterfeits mentioned in this tread. You are just lying as usual. STOP. Answer the question posed to you. Are you saying that costco is selling counterfeit cameras? YES OR NO? Its a simple question. -

First you say 1000, now 700. OP posted 700-1000. I know you dont speak English. So lets make something clear here. NOWHERE in this thread did I recommend 4mp cameras. Only 720p and 1080p. If you would bother to look at my links from costco, you will find this to be true. You will also find that YES, you can get 24 720p CVI cameras WITH DVR and hard drives for 1000 USD. These are NOT counterfeit! STOP LYING. They are sold by qsee (rebranded dahua) and sold in costco. Are you saying that costco is selling counterfeit? REALLY? Since your google must be broken or your govenment is blocking it. Let me help you understand what costco is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costco " As of 2014, it was the third largest retailer in the United States,[5] in 2015 it is the second largest in the world (after Walmart)[6] and the largest membership warehouse club chain in the United States.[7]" THEY ARE NOT SELLING COUNTERFEIT. Please stop lying to try and sell you junk around here. Please tell us why you made up that lie about costco. That is not the proper way to do business. -

24 cameras, am considering buying from amazon, the budget is $700-$1000, the brand that died is KFE, is a china product Find a reseller of hikvision TVI or dahua CVI, which is HD over analog..the cameras can be had for 35-50 depending on the camera....you will also need a DVR sepcific to either sdi or tvi... IF you can get away with only 16 cameras (you will need to add the other 4), then consider this system.. Its a dahua cvi system. http://www.costco.com/Lorex-16-Channel-HD-1080p-Security-System-with-2TB-HDD-and-12-1080p-Cameras.product.100163008.html# Or even two of these http://www.costco.com/Q-See-16-Channel-HD-720p-Security-System-with-2TB-HDD-and-12-720p-Cameras.product.100220958.html -

Budget NVR with motion detection
Boogieman replied to HenrysCat's topic in General Digital Discussion
The reason I chose to go my own way was simply you offered no reasonable explanation as to why one product may not be a good as another and simply dismissed it as 'Junk' If you had actually tried one of these units which you clearly have not, you would be able to offer more of an informed opinion, but to dismiss something you have never used as 'Junk' seems pointless to me, and to be perfectly honest I find you a little rude. Please do not reply to any more of my threads. No that is not the reason. That is the reason you made up. In my first post I indicated that the reason not to get it. If you wanted a more detailed explanation you should asked for one. The reason is you are trying to be cheap. Penny wise, pound foolish. Now that I see how ungrateful you are, im kind of glad that you went ahead and made the purchase...you will see exactly what we mean when you try to use that junk... -

I already have more hard drives than I know what to do with I'll post back soon If you know what to do ....... First you should of read the advert because that is junk And I would recommend anyone reading this post to read the advert and look for something else ........ But just to show you Dahua NVR ........ 4 x 3mp cameras POE ....£70 Your junk ....... Hard drive NVR switch and not even 1.3mp already over 100 tom, its no use...there are some users who come here asking for advice when their mind is already made up...you can see from the camera choices that this end user does not care about reliability or quality...this will be added to his junk pile. -

I know what your saying about newer machines but I really don't want another pc in the room, just something I can hide, I really like the look of this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301199745305 100% chance that will not work with all your cameras...buy a kit from a reliable maker and seller. -

That's a humongous box full of fans, I want something small and discreet that doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner in the corner of the room, how much processing power is really needed to capture a couple of 720 streams? my dell manages but the end result is a bit choppy. The net top is £50 " title="Applause" /> You have a misconception about the machines...the new machines are SUPER quiet and you cannot hear them..its not like your ten year old machines.. Its not just capturing the stream, its analyzing it for motion detection and displaying the stream if you have it up...there is software that can do this more efficiently than ISPY but there is a per camera license fee... Its your money do as your wish. For a few dollars more get a better system... -

Hmmm interesting, just ran passmark on my Dell and got 271, proof below http://www.passmark.com/baselines/V8/display.php?id=46199962028 Think I might buy that Net top Atom N281G after all How much is the nettop?...its will still struggle over a 150 dollar j2900 system..again, if you keep buying the bare minimum low end you will get poor results. For about 200 you can have a modern efficient i3-4130 haswell. The netop is junk. Here is a prosumer type i3 haswell for 200. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Thinkcentre-I3-4130-3-4-GHz-4GB-Ram-500-GB-Hdd-Windows-10-Pro-EE13331-Ver-/252046812609?hash=item3aaf2925c1 passmark 4700...its worth a few extra dollars..if you dont want to spend that much the j2900/j1800 machines go on sale for 130... -

Not exactly a budget option, I could could buy a complete 4 camera setup for that price yes, you can also find cheaper home systems online... PC nvrs give you lots of flexibility...but if you simply want a recording solution buy a boxed ip system from costco or sams. The bottom line is this, if you keep buying bottom of the barrel equipment then that is what your system will be...that atom has a 696 passmark...thats probably lower than your dell. As you point out you are likely paying your electric company 100 a year or more to run that ancient system at full blast. -

thank you for your quick response, however i will like to know if you have personally install samsung cameras before and how long have they lasted. because i really need proof for this installation i do not want what will fail after the installation. You cannot use someones personal experience with a particular camera as a meter...what are you trying to accomplish? where are you installing these? are they for yourself or someone else? -

Pick up one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-EliteDesk-800-G1-USDT-Desktop-Core-i5-4570s-2-9GHz-4GB-320GB-2017-Warranty-/141752588462?hash=item21011cd8ae draws 16w at idle...probably 35 with your load... Or wait for a dell outlet sale...pickup a dell i5-haswell micropc for 300 or so... If you want units with more room for hard discs, get the small form factors or mini towers...the above units only have room for a single 2.5 drive.. Run ispy on it and it will be fine. -
Budget NVR with motion detection
Boogieman replied to HenrysCat's topic in General Digital Discussion
I dont run ispy (note that ispy is not free, it charges a monthly fee for remote access and a limited number of alerts)...ispy will generally be cpu intensive for many hd streams.. I personally use blue iris because I like the flexibility of the many options, but it too requires a powerful pc for many had streams...how many cameras do you have in total and how what is the resolution of each camera? -

Both are junk, there is a thread on the mini nvr on the forum... What cameras are you using? motion detection is one of the things that is a big hit or miss when you mix and match cameras and NVRs..what cameras are you using? -
Please disregard sunnykim, he sells junk direct from china, and is maybe involved with that company. Usually he promotes D1 junk. So that should tell you a lot. I dont sell any cameras. My advice is not biased. Sunny claims that I work for many companies..lets make a list. Costco, Hikvision, amazon, dahua, qsee, swann, lorex, aliexpress....He is obviously insane or his home country (China) is blocking his google search so he cant read up on how large these companies are.. Im glad i tought sunny a new english word "peddle"... Do yourself a big favor and dont waste your money on that crap..your warranty will never be honored because return shipping is too high...the company already proved that they are scam artists when they sent you a non ADH dvr...The Chinese scammers pray upon folks like you...dont be a sucker... Get the 4mp dahua for 90, you wont be sorry.

If you are doing a new install, why go analog? go ip or at the very least hd over coax. -
it wont do the job...if money is tight buy a single ip camera with an SD card slot, install more when you get money....Junk will be junk...if you keep wasting money on cheap junk you will never have any to buy a decent system. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Dahua-4Mp-IPC-HDBW4421R-AS-IP-camera-network-camera-DH-IPC-HDBW4421R-AS-Support-POE-Micro/32409416351.html

why are you still dealing with this crap company? you will try and save a few dollars and be disappointed again..there is more to a camera and DVR than specs alone. You will get what you pay for...
-
Send it all back...is it this system? http://www.techvision.cn/plus/view.php?aid=99 That is not AHD....its D1... Look for someone selling TVI or CVI systems by hikvsion or dahua...
-
If you buy low end junk, that is going to happen... Where did you buy from? What is the model of the DVR you purchased? have you confirmed that its AHD compatible? Where do you live?
-
Dont use converters (i think you mean encoders)..buy new hikvision cameras..
-
Yes they do. Stop intentionally lying, you know that is NOT true. For IP to be plug and play, you simply need an NVR with built in POE ports...otherwise if you use your own switch you need minimal network knowledge... If you really wanted to help, you would say get a dahua NVR with POE built in...but you dont. You intentionally mislead. Stop it. You know very well that IP with the POE on the NVR is plug and play if you get the same brand NVR and camera. Analog is crap...stop recommending low resolution analog JUNK in 2015. The fact that your company manufactures it does not make it the right choice. He will be able to figure this out with the help of users on this forum. I will offer to login via teamviewer and help him just to get you to shut-up and stop lying. He already has the gear, why are you giving him poor advice? Its really upsetting to see you do this because I know that you know that ip with matching NVR is plug and play. The only folks still installing low resolution analog on NEW home and small business installs are ripoff artists selling low end junk to end users. Okay, I had went ahead and purchased a harddrive for the nvr, but after connecting the harddrive to the nvr and connecting the nvr to the monitor - it still doesnt show anything ( i dont mean the camera, just some sort of user panel). As well, the nvr still powers on and restarts. if the NVR is restating it may be defective...you also may have to log in an initiallze the drive... Before you do anything else, the first step is to be able to access the camera via your network. Nothing will magically show up on the NVR... What is your routers ip address?

Can't get motion detection set up properly on new Dahua DVR
Boogieman replied to hxdrummerxc's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You cannot use pixel based motion on NVR's for reliable alerts...your old unit was likely set to a high threshold and you were missing lots of actual events... There are likely some settings to adjust...hopefully someone who uses dahua NVR's can chime in and help you reduce some of the false alerts..you likely have an improper setting for the sensitivity or the threshold..
