  1. No, that is not correct. Motion detection still works...
  2. You are probably listing the wrong model..the 3032 is a turret... Regardless ir reflection in the dome is generally a result of improper installation. Buy a hikvision or LTS turret they are the same. The 2mp lts will be even better at night so there is an advantage there.
  3. are you sure you have this camera? http://www.ltsecurityinc.com/ip-camera/ip-dome/cmip3022-28.html It should not have any halo effect.
  4. The lts that he linked to with blackface is a rebanded hikvision turret, though its a 2mp model, which is actually better at night than the 2332.
  5. If you have never done this before then you need to have someone else come out and look at it. You will be doing the client as disservice by getting involved in this.
  6. Yes it requires a powerful cpu with HD cams...make sure you are recording with the "direct to disk" option enabled...
  7. Ask forum owner to restrict usage of word "Analog" lol...that would be great.
  8. As usual you make no sense. Stop peddling your D1 junk on innocent users!

    hikvision cameras and possibly NVR

Its not hard to find these systems. Dell has an outlet sale monthly... In the past year I have purchased over 20 of them. Just follow the outlet on twitter.. You can pay 600 if you need them asap http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Optiplex-7020-Business-PC-MT-Intel-i7-3-6GHz-8GB-500GB-7020T11210722SA-/301699033788?hash=item463ea9eabc http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Dell-Optiplex-7020-SFF-i7-4790-QUAD-8GB-500GB-3-Year-Wnty-/131564520707?hash=item1ea1db4503
  10. The original poster does not need 1000 feet of distance. So dont even bring it up. The fact that you do proves that you dont understand the needs of the user or this industry. There is NOTHING good about your junk D1 or 960h cameras, not the contrast, NOTHING. You say "your company"..I dont work for anyone..if you look at my posts I recommend various makes of cameras. I dont normally recommend CVI, its transitional until everyone moves to ip. For a new install ip is best. I only mentioned CVI because its MUCH better than the junk your company sells. No one is interested in your DVR cards, analog D1, low resolution junk with NO WARRANTY. Please go sell you low end garbage cameras to third world counties..here in North America, we are not interested - we know better. I know this upsets you, that someone is calling you out because you purposely give bad advice so you can peddle and sell your junk to users. Also please try to use a better language translator...yours does not seem to work very well.
  11. Yes because the original poster needs to run 1000 feet? BTW CVI can go more than 1000f. Please learn about the technology you are trying to knock. Only very large jobs need more than a 150 feet of cable and trust me, those jobs will not be using your D1 junk equipment. I laugh when you say your junk 30 dollar cameras are "Rugged". How does the fact that its been around help at all. CRT has been around for so many years. You not using a flatscreen monitor/tv? Please learn about the technology you are trying to knock. I already showed you how its 960h is NOT cheaper. You need many more cameras to cover the same area. There is nothing good about D1 and 960h. Its junk. Every time you try and recommend it here I will make sure to point out that your are recommending junk only because your company sells it. You seem to be upset that I pointed out your scam. Good.
  12. The vacuum is an example. I personally dont do that. But I have friends who have returned vacuums after 5-6 years, computers after 3 year before they changed the rules, even furniture after 5 years. Yes I know its hard to believe..Do you have google in china? please read about costco...They have a no questions return policy. Regardless, like I said, dont make this about the return. D1 and 960h should not be installed in 2015. http://www.bargaineering.com/articles/costcos-incredible-return-policy.html
  13. What I do for a living is not relevant here - the point is I have no agenda, unlike you. Lookup the link I sent you. They have a satisfaction guaranteed policy...that means anytime you want you can bring it back. I know lots of people who do that with costco. "On Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price" this is LIFETIME, not 30 days, not 1 year. They had a problem with computers and other items so they limited SPECIFIC items to 90 days. Forget about the return policy. Why do you recommend a D1 or 960h system when a 1080p system with warranty costs the same or less? WHY? Instead you recommend junk that has NO warranty and TERRIBLE resolution. Why do you want to screw over innocent folks here on the website. Go back and reread your posts. You will see that your recommended a dvr card. You cannon example is terrible logic. If you use a cannon to kill a roach you will damage your home. If you get great 1080p hd picture it will not harm anything. It the same price as the junk you recommended. Its 2015, D1 deserves a quick death, just like CRT tv's. No one is paying for me to be angry with you. It disturbs me that you are purposely giving bad advice to peddle you products.
  14. Dont waste your money on cheap ptz's they often have focus problems and poor firmware. If you dont need too much zoom, look at the Hikvision 2DE4582-AE its 4x, and has a very wide view at the widest position, much more than the 12x cameras. It can be had for around 500 from US sellers with warranty.
  15. What is the budget? You are better off using to fixed cameras..that way you wont miss any activity.
  16. Either you dont understand english or your are purposely acting dumb. They have a LIFETIME return policy!!! This is by the SELLER costco!!!! Learn to read. I can return a vacuum cleaner I bought 10 years ago, today. Like I said even without the return its a much better system then the junk you are advising to buy. I said in my posts multiple times that its a DAHUA based CVI system. Why are you acting surprised? What are you acting like this is a bad thing for a 500 dollar system. Stop with your lies. Again, please stop recommending your JUNK systems that have NO warranty (return shipping to china is too expensive) and worst of all have terrible resolution and likely poor performance in general and cost more money. Please stop giving folks here BAD advice because you want to sell your companies JUNK to them. Please tell me why I should buy a DVR card D1 system that needs a pc to run over this 500 dollars system? Forget about the return policy for a minuet. Its clear that you have an agenda to peddle your companies low end garbage. Stop it.
  17. Please read my post. Costco has a lifetime return policy on EVERYTHING in the store EXCEPT certain items. https://customerservice.costco.com/system/templates/selfservice/costco_en_us/#!portal/200500000001002/article/200500000040287/Costco-Return-Policy So you can return at any time. The "cameras" listed there are point and shoot. You can return IP cameras anytime. This is a return policy of the seller. Even without the return policy this is a much better deal than your d1 junk. Even at your posted numbers of 30 dollars per camera x8 cameras +50 for a dvr card costs 290. Now you need a PC + large hard disk how much does that cost? 2tb drive costs 90... This whole unit is 500 dollars with an NVR, cables, 2TB hard drive. Makes no sense to buy d1 or 960h junk...please stop advising innocent people to buy low quality dvr cards and low resolution cameras, simply because your company sells them, when they can buy 1080p hd systems for less. You can sell the junk to users in the third world.
  18. No need to peddle low resolution junk its 2015..d1 or 960h should not be installed it should be thrown in the trash...I know you guys sell it so thats why you promote it...you can get 1080p CVI from costco with lifetime returns for 500. Or spend a bit more for IP... A 4k camera camera will allow you to zoom in to the image at a later point and get much more clarity. You will also be able to cover much more area say with a 1080p camera over a 960h camera while maintaining MUCH better image quality. I have no idea what you are talking about when you say limited choices for decoding and playback - you are just making stuff up now...how are IP cameras more limited that analog? 1080P-CVI system at 500, Life Time Warranty. Real good deal. I missed. Hope not lying. Are you selling those? No i dont own costco https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costco - thats the difference between my advice and yours. You have an agenda because your company sells old outdated D1 junk. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costco What can I be lying about? The price is on their webpage. They have a lifetime return policy that excludes only specific items not including ip camera. http://www.costco.com/Lorex-8-Channel-HD-1080p-Security-System-with-2TB-HDD-and-8-1080p-Cameras-.product.100218592.html this is a rebranded Dahua CVI system.

DVI or HDMI is recommended for CCTV

Go to your teacher and demand a refund. Find someone who knows what they are talking about.

    New guy...

Yes you may as well run cat6..although cat5e will be just fine. If you are using your own cable, make sure you use good quality cable...not cheap copper clad aluminum (CCA)... 100 feet is no problem....

    Picking out a system?

A slight delay is normal with ip systems..who cares...its being recorded. The 1300 costco system is a 4mp so there is a bit more resolution... There are various ways to tell about the rebrand..ususally looking at the firmware...You dont need to view a the mainstream live..when the cameras are shown in a matrix the substream is just fine. 4096 is way more than sufficient to get a great image...that is what I run all my 2 and 3mp cams at...you will not notice a degradation.

    New guy...

For the cost its basically the best you can get along with Dahua. They one of the largest camera makers in the world. Are there better cameras out there. Sure. Are you willing to spend 500-2000 PER camera? based on your post, no.
