The e77 is terrible...horrid image...particularly at night...look elsewhere... These can do -40 with a built in heater option http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/Products_show.asp?id=9809&showid=1 Im sure there are others..

Samsung Smart TV App?

If you tv is displaying invalid format when you connect the dvr to it, its most likely because you need to set your dvr to display in 1080p to match the tv... see if it will allow you to set the output resolution using the web interface...

Samsung Smart TV App?

Lol...yeah, because the high tech thief is going to first disable the dvr via the tv...

Samsung Smart TV App?

use and android pc stick..preferably wired, or fire tv...run ipcamviewer....when you want to view the cameras just change the hdmi input...

New to CCTV and questions about cameras

Forget about 960H and analog systems....start reading the megapixel section and look at ip cameras that are 1080p..... Even 720p will be much much clearer than the 960h
8. Yes, you can attach a switch at the camera end and then run shorter cables to each camera....thats the beauty of ip cameras...if the cameras are POE then you will need a poe switch...

Wireless cameras security system

Stick with the hikvision, ignore recommendations for no name camera brands.... Wifi is not as reliable as wired, particularly if you plan on running many of them... The risk of "hacking" is not so much with respect to the wifi, but if you dont properly secure the cameras when you setup remote access.. Remember that no camera is wireless...you always have to power it...try to run cable to as many cameras as possible...remember that the 2432 is only an indoor camera....it does have a nice PIR motion sensor that is useful.. You can use powerline adapters instead of wifi...if your home wiring supports a good connection you will be better off.. hikvision does make wifi external cams like the DS-2CD2132F-IWS
10. Look at the ip/megapixel section of this forum...hikvision and dahua are good brands... The swann systems at costco are rebranded hikvision..the qsee and lorex systems are dahua... http://www.costco.com/CatalogSearch?storeId=10301&catalogId=10701&langId=-1&refine=&keyword=ip+camera
11. Instead of spending money on a low quality card and cameras and running it on a power hungry gaming rig...why doing you install 1 or two HD ip cameras that can record to sd card...you can later reuse these cams in your new location...
12. Forget about those crappy analog systems...start researching HD (720 or 1080p) IP Camera systems....the difference will be night and day..You will pay more, but the quality of the image is MUCH better...youtube it...it is also easier to install because most ip cameras support POE - the cameras are powered by the same ethernet cable that transmits data.

Wireless cameras security system

Forget about the wireless....pay someone to neatly run the Ethernet cable for you....
14. That's what I'm using now. It takes forever to load up and start the stream on my HTPC (Q6600). I was hoping there was something out there like the IP Cam Viewer app on android just for Windows. It loads up with all my cameras showing in no more than 2 seconds. Just get a fire tv or android mini pc with ethenet...when doorbell rings, switch hdmi input ..problem solved.. Side note Q6600 is a power hog, particularity since it doesnt have integrated graphics....if you dont put it to sleep and its running 24/7 it may be cheaper to upgrade it to haswell with an i3/i5 from the dell outlet for 250-300..put a killawatt meter on it...

Dahua NVR Hacks

A firmware change wont help you...even if the specs are the same, its not "foolish" to pay for the added functionality...heck most of the vms software charge a per camera fee, even though its the same software.
16. Ok so I have it set up. Here are the night time results. I am pretty pleased. The camera is set to 1/500sec exposure because anything less washes the plate out. Max gain is set to 50%. I figure that gives me a bit of adjustment if the illuminator fades out. The one difficulty I am having atm is blue iris is not detecting rear plates at night, even with the sensitivity all the way up. I have the overview camera triggering at the moment as a stop gap. Going to try increased contrast at night. The letters on those plates are 50mm high. Vertical resolution is about 360 pixels per metre or 108 pixels per foot in that shot. make sure you dont have object detect reject selected....if that is not the issue, try using the hopspot function...

which had better night vision?

the 2332 will be better..
18. Blue iris can pull the streams from the dvr and ip cameras...it cannot control them in anyway though...

Non HD 50 camera system

Default is 4mm....the turret has better IR...and is more resistant to someone knocking it out of place...bullets are easier to aim...
20. The issue is not with emailing..that will work...it viewing the live/recorded video remotely that will be a problem.
21. There wont be any usage unless you are live viewing...the email notifications are use very little data...the problem with satellite is that many doing give you a public ip address to be able to lof into your NVR....can you get cable or dsl?
22. Boogieman

Non HD 50 camera system

You can run the ip cameras on a separate network...it would be exactly the same as using an hdcvi dvr with remote access. its really backwards to install coax in 2015... Dahua makes hdCVI...
23. Boogieman

Non HD 50 camera system

Go with an ip system...that way if you are every unhappy with the interface you can move to a different NVR that supports that camera or a pc based system..you can start with a pc based system from exacq or milestone if you wish or just get a 64 channel nvr...http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/Products_show.asp?id=7701 It will be much easier to wire up an ip system as you dont have to home run all the cameras back to the NVR as you would with traditional coax. if you refuse to, then look at hdcvi which will allow hd over coax..if you buy a regular analog system you will again be unhappy with the poor video quality..
24. There are aliexpress sellers offering a 2032F with sd card...not sure if it truly exists or where in the camera it goes...
25. In the cube camera the issue exists regardless of that setting...the solution is the one mentioned above..
