Please Help Somebody!!! Lasers disruppting my Cameras
Boogieman replied to Loria's topic in General Digital Discussion
Look, there is no way they are deleting clips if the DVR is not connected to the network and they are not coming into the house..NO WAY...end of story.. There are two possibilities...1) the unit is not functioning properly 2) you are smoking some REALLY good weed. Sorry but that is a fact. Why doing you point a regular video camera out the window and see what happens.. -
Yes solid copper cat5....you may even want to run cat6..the price difference is insignificant...buy it from monoprice... The sale ends on the 25th..you can always return..there are lots of samples of that system..the camera is a hikvision 2032... You can build your own system but if you dont know much about networking it may be challenging ...also with costco you can return it anytime and it comes with a 3 year warranty. viewtopic.php?f=53&t=43543&p=261526#p261526

If you are new to think then start reading up on it...make sure you use quality solid cable, not copper clad aluminum...buy from a reputable place like monoprice... As far as cameras you may be better of with a complete kit from costco... http://www.costco.com/Swann-16-Channel-HD-NVR-Security-System-with-3TB-HDD-and-8-3MP-HD-IP-Cameras.product.100144938.html It uses hikvision cameras and NVR...
-
Its amazing who folks post questions as if information about their system is top secret...I think there is a post each day which does not provide for a model number ...at least we know its a DVR....probably...
-
Did you do anything to it before this started happening? Try disconnecting the hard drive and see if that helps.
-
Some NVR's have poe ports others dont...but if you want to use a separate switch and only run a single cable to the NVR you need a switch that provides poe.
-
Even if it worked well which is doubtful, its a waste in that type of application....get more fixed cameras and learn how to properly place them...the ptz going be useless when there is more than one person in the area and its only tracking one...
-
How much are you paying for that noname ptz? you might be better of buying a dahua with a warranty..how are you going to use the ptz? if you are not going to monitor or set up pir or magentic motion triggers then its a total waste.

Need help to find the right DVR NVR
Boogieman replied to hipyo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You can use a pc based software like blue iris to do this..http://blueirissoftware.com/ You can also use synology NAS surveillance station but you will need to pay 50 dollars per camera license (after the first one or two)... I think the mini Nvr can record foscam but i dont know how well and if it works with all foscams..maybe only the hd ones...viewtopic.php?f=56&t=39628 In the future there are way better options than foscam -
Two options... 1) use the old coax cables and use HD over analog technology like HDCVI from dahua. 2) Run new ethernet cable and use HD ip cameras. Both will give you MUCH better picture quality but the ip cameras will be more flexable and easier to upgrade in the future... There are lots of posts on both..
-
are you happy with the video quality of the cameras?
-
Blue iris can do this..you will need a compatible card if you want to use your bnc cameras.... http://blueirissoftware.com/

Look they are all going to do this...mechanics do it on car parts...appliance repair guys..etc.. Can you save a TON by doing it yourself..yes..if you know what you are doing and do it right.. It all boils down to whether you want to take the heat if there are issues...also consider your state laws..since you are not installing in your personal residence but in a common area...
-
Are we supposed to guess the rest of the details? Some basic info about the software and equipment...
-
Some ip cameras have a BNC out so you can use an analog monitor...otherwise just use a tablet/cellphone/laptop.
-
if you use a non poe switch you will not get power...a switch that has 4 POE ports costs 44 dollars... http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-SF1008P-100Mbps-8-Port-802-3af/dp/B003CFATT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421726052&sr=8-1&keywords=poe+switch

Need advise on installing 15 CCTVs using NVR system
Boogieman replied to ch5112's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Note that the 3132 is a 2 axis dome...you will not be able to wall mount it without bulky mounts...if you will be wall mounting consider the 2332/3223 turret.. -
What is the best resolution and fps combination?
Boogieman replied to Jyaki's topic in Security Cameras
You dont need 30fps in an office..15fps is WAY more than enough... As far as the megapixles...that camera will show a different area of view for 3mp and 2mp...try both and see what captures the area you need...it will not be any clearer in 3mp mode..it just covers more vertical area...in 2mp you get a bit more horizontal area. -
Swan 1080p NHD-820 picture quality at night
Boogieman replied to dan_man's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I didnt work because he connected the pc to the router...instead of directly to the camera or the camera and pc to the switch with no router involved. His switch is managed so it may have been screwing things up.. -

Question about IP Camera

Camera model, NVR model???????????? -
Did you read the OP? Synology? what? its exactly the opposite of what he needs...he needs the most basic system for a reliable live feed only... You can get a basic system like this...you dont need to set any recording, just output the dvr to a monitor..if you look around you can find cheaper systems.. http://www.amazon.com/SANNCE-Surveillance-Weatherproof-Outdoor-Cameras/dp/B00GB1IMDY/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1421422479&sr=8-8&keywords=4ch+dvr if you want to pay more and have better quality you might consider this http://www.costco.com/Lorex-4-Channel-HD-720p-Security-System-with-500GB-HDD-and-4-720p-Cameras.product.100140528.html
