I am yet to buy my HD-SDI DVR (see my other thread) I do like the idea of buying a PC card that will do the job. I have a powerful desktop that could handle it. What is the size of your PC's HDD? how will you control data and maintain reliability? what did you pay for your card? and the cams? cheers -
you can setup a remote connection to your home PC through any remote software once you are controlling your home PC, you can open a IE browser and connect straight to your DVR using its IP address you will need to setup permissions for the first stage and setup login credentials for the second stage HTH

maybe you have a faulty BNC on the cable for that camera? try a different connector or cable? or maybe your new camera is inferior to your old one the picture of your 540TVL is quite impressive -

Connections for my cameras in one place

You need some shotgun coaxial cable. It carries power and video down 1 wire. So either buy a 100m roll or 5 x 20m pre made cables. run the cables from each camera to near where your DVR is. all your BNC (video) need to go from your camera to the back of your DVR. Your DVR does NOT power your cameras. You need a 4 way power supply to power 4 cameras. So either buy 2 of these or buy an extra single PSU to power your 5th camera. http://www.qvissecurity.com/Catalogue/CEARANCE-BARGAINS/Accessories/POWER-ADAPTORS/Power-Supply-5amp-4-Way-PSU5-4WAY-N hope that helps
