"Identical" HikVision DS-2CD2183G0-I showing different options in UI
sumocomputers posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I recently purchased a few HikVision DS-2CD2183G0-I from the same vendor on Amazon in the US (Power Supply Center). They all appear to be non-Chinese models (I think they are called International versions?). I bought the problem child a few weeks prior to the others, and all are running FW V5.6.3 build 190923. I am using Brave (Chromium Browser) and one of the cameras has some different things in the UI, and I think I have checked all the settings to be the same, but still get these differences: 1. On the Live View page, the odd camera shows a bunch of PTZ controls, etc.; the others do not. 2. "Local" on the sidebar is missing, as are "Playback" and "Picture" across the top; the others have it 3. "Download Plug-in" is displayed across the top; the others do not 4. The "HIKVision" logo in the upper left is slightly different with a "R" registration mark next to it; the others do not See Screenshots I should also mention I have a Synology Surveillance Station NAS connecting to all the cameras. As part of troubleshooting I deleted the camera from Synology, factory reset the camera, reloaded the same FW, put back all the settings to match the others, and still getting the same result. It just bothers me that they are not all the same... Tearing my hair out thinking there is some setting I missed, and hoping someone can shed some light on this. Thanks, Chris -
Think I need Auto-Iris, need help. Have several HIKVision

Thanks for help on auto-iris. I was using WDR, but I am now playing with BLC. Only problem is that the big garage door and the smaller side door are both sources of light, and I don't think I can't account for both with BLC, since it lets me pick only one: up/down/left/right. As for moving the camera, I really prefer to keep it where it is at if at all possible. -

I currently have 5 HIKVision DS-2CD2132-I 2.8mm Dome Cameras and a Synology that I record to. They have the latest FW, which I think is 5.3.0. I am having an issue like in my garage that works great in B&W or Color Mode (set to auto switch), but if there is a large source of light (like opening a door), causes that area to be completely washed out. No amount of tweaking seems to address this scenario. See attached screenshot for example. I think I need an Auto-Iris camera, but wanted to make sure before I go try to research this. I have been happy with HIKVision, but willing to go to another brand. Would like to keep the cost under $300 USD if possible. Thank You, Chris -
Hikvision Raptor 5.1

Just filed a support email with Hikvision USA. Also reverted the FW back to 5.02 (too many things just didn't work as well with 5.1.0). -
Hikvision Raptor 5.1

I have 4 cameras (DS-2CD2132-I and DS-2CD2032-I) I noticed that with 5.0.2, if I wanted to pull snapshot images, I used the following URL format which worked fine: http://username:password@IP_ADDRESS/Streaming/channels/1/picture With 5.1.0, it now returns an XML error (note "Device Error", not "Invalid Operation"). <ResponseStatus xmlns="http://www.hikvision.com/ver10/XMLSchema" version="1.0"> <requestURL>/streaming/channels/1/picture</requestURL> <statusCode>3</statusCode> <statusString>Device Error</statusString> </ResponseStatus> I have tried changing some other settings that look like they might apply, but I still cannot get it to work. I may load up the 5.02 FW, and see what the XML returns when I just enter http://username:password@IP_ADDRESS/Streaming/channels/1 (without the /picture). Anyone else see this issue? Anyone figure out if there is a workaround or setting to fix it? Thanks, Chris -
Horizontal Lines with Hikvision Dome 2.8mm DS-2CD2132-I

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried the cleaning, and no dice. I even switched the clear dome with another identical unit and no dice. So I switched cameras, and the swapped camera was fine, so I am sending back the defective unit and have another on the way. -

Great tip, I will clean the inside of the dome. I don't recall seeing any foam pads, but will look. -

It seems I only get the gain when I force day or night mode, but currently I have it on Auto. I looked at the 5.0.5 FW, and some say it is buggy, so I will just keep checking for FW updates, and in the meantime, reach out to Hikvision Support. -

Thanks for the advice. I can swap them out to see, it's just a PITA with all the screws and adjustments... Chris -
Horizontal Lines with Hikvision Dome 2.8mm DS-2CD2132-I

I have 3 Hikvision Dome 2.8mm DS-2CD2132-I cameras, 1 has a horizontal line problem, and 2 of them don't. All running on FW V5.0.2 130805, Main Stream as 1920x1080, Variable, 30FPS, Highest Quality, 4096 Max bit rate, and H.264. I am wondering if the problematic one might be defective, or maybe it is just where it is mounted or the dome interfering? It is mounted in a corner with walls on either side. If you watch the video below, if I increase the brightness above 20, it gets some horizontal lines towards the bottom third of the screen. And if I increase the brightness more, the lines move up further (problem camera is "Back Deck"). Also in the video, you can see the 2 other identical cameras, which don't exhibit this problem with high brightness ("Front Door" & "Garage"). I browsed and didn't find a thread with this problem, so sorry if this has been answered, and I hope this is the right forum area. Thanks, Chris (sorry, I don't have permission to link URLs directly, and attachment is too big, so I hope this is OK) Video Link on Dropbox http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2466418/Uploads/hikvision1.mp4
