  1. Pulled the camera down, swapped the ethernet cables either side of the PoE injector. Just the Ethernet connection has disappeared from the router. Not really sure what to check next. Tried different Ethernet ports. I use iDmss to access the camera, but that hasn't got anywhere to look. Can anyone confirm what's should happen when I press and hold the reset button? This doesn't seem to actually do anything. I have a red led on the upper PCB which stays solid. The fan doesn't shut down, and the led stays solid when I try and reset. The only way to get the camera to react, is if I physically move it around, then do a hard unplug. When plugged back in the PTZ will return to a preset 1st position. What else can I try? This isn't possibly bricked is it? I've never tried a firmware install, it's always just been fine, with no intervention. Any help, greatfully received.

Dahua SD59230S-HN 30x PTZ off line

Did you get anywhere with this, I seem to have a similar issue. PTZ cam has dropped from Ethernet. Mi wondering if my PoE injector is bad. But camera does have power, just I don't seem to be able to reset it to bring it back.
  3. I've been using my Dahua x3 PTZ for a couple of years now and it's been great. Couple of weeks ago I couldn't access it, I've discovered that it's dropped from my router. It used to show as connected through Ethernet, now nothing. I've tried a reset of the router, reset of the Dahua, doesn't show up. The camera is powered, and seems 'live'. The lens reacts to a bright light, so it's behaving like someone is home. When I attempt a rest of the camera (hold reset button for a number of seconds) it doesnt fully power down and reboot, like I thought it would. The fan continues to whirr. Is this normal? I'm a bit stuck. I've always been able to trouble shoot the camera myself, but I've never been able to not find it before. Any ideas?
  4. Hi there. I've had my Dahua installed for 18 months and it's been great. I have a focussing question. Since fitting the camera, which is in the only logical place for it, I've screened in the porch. Means some of the preset views are now obscured by the screen. The camera wants to focus on the screen instead of what's behind it. Can I set focus values for each preset position? I'm using iDMSS. This seems quite basic, and I'm wondering if there is a better viewing software, which can help. Thanks. Chris.
  5. Seem to have got my issues ironed out. Tilt seemed to work itself out. Might have Been linked to a reset, although didn't work itself out instantly. Thanks a lot guys.
  6. Nearly there I think. I have forwarded ports 80 and 37777. All is good, I can view and control from my ipad and PC. Although the ipad aspect ratio is all wrong. I think iDMSS wont allow me to alter it on the screen. Not a huge thing. I'll try a different app. However, My camera has lost most of its Tilt function. It will 'look up' a bit too far, but will not 'look down'. Also juddders when it reaches a stop. Ive tried pushing the reset button inside the cam, and resetting by cutting the POE. Could it be a power supply thing? Camera is 15w http://wrightwoodsurveillance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_16&products_id=274 POE injector is 15.4w http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885633-REG/TP_Link_TL_POE150S_Power_Over_Ethernet.html Always something ... Hope its not a hardware fault. Any thoughts?
  7. That got it! By this do you mean reset the cameras HTTP, TCP and RTSP port numbers? I tried that (15001,15002 etc) and the camera freaked out. Couldn't access it a all. I could ping it, but I couldnt get to the UI. Only a push of the reset button inside has brought it back. like this? Can you see a picture now at 74.108.***.** ? Thanks for the assistance fellas. EDIT.... i think i might have it. I am viewing my cam with my iPad, on port 37777. App called iDMSS HD Lite.
  8. Ok, bad to worse. For some reason I now cant access the camera at all, through my network. I had thought it a good idea to change the TCP port to 80 at the camera to match the router, or so I thought. Since then I have only seen the following screen. Installing Quicktime as it stands is no use. Been trying to follow different ways to get Dahua ActiveX to install. Not happening. Any thoughts on this, as it seems to be my biggest hurdle? Apart from forwarding the right ports. I seem to be having the headache due to my IE being 64bit. Have tried the trick of altering the security settings. Cheers folks/..
  9. Ok, back. Here are a few more shots of my settings. They may make more sense being bigger! The camera forwardin is the botom one.
  10. Well that's encouraging. Reckon that's an issue with the camera UI? I have my own issues with IE being 64bit to get around. Working on that. EDIT. Nipped out of the house for a couple of hours. Will look at the TCP port in a bit. To be honest I was kinda guessing the settings, and something happened. Not very pro I grant you. I'll make those pics bigger as well...
  11. Thanks to you guys, and the great service at Wrightwood my camera is in place and working well. its so nice, I could look at the image all day. Needs a slight relocation, but that can be done when my fingers have thawed out! I'm a sniff away from accessing it from a distance, but am just not quite sure what's not in place. Have a look at these two pics. See anything amiss? direct access through network is 192.168.1.4 remote access is 74.108.***.** Many thanks. (are those pics big enough?) EDIT 74.108.***.** does bring up the camera UI. But I cant get past the issue of IE being 64 bit and the active X thing. I managed it for the local browsing part of the operation. Something to do with webrec.cab I was asked to DL something from EMS TECHNOLOGY USA INC which got my feed working. Anyone else see my feed!?
  12. The bottom end of Putnam county. Feel free to stop by. Happening tomorrow...
  13. Fantastic, thank you. I've just ordered the Dahua3x 1080 from http://wrightwoodsurveillance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_16&products_id=274 Top class service so far. This will be the 3rd camera in the same position. Hoping for better luck this time. The others died, of being too cheap. Not expecting any issues setting up having done it a couple of times. I'm reading mixed reviews of PSS. I guess I'll try it as a start point.
  14. Oh here is a question. With a non IR equipped camera, can I add a seperate IR source at a later date? I guess I am asking, do all cameras see IR, just some come equipped with bulbs and other dont. reason I dont want IR on the camera is that the YCam Bullet I had spent all its time recording spiders and other bugs at night. Ok, guess I'm nearly done. Thanks for your kind help. Only two things remain: Would this lens 'see' an IR source placed away from the camera? I probably wouldn't do it, but it's good to know for the future. Anyone know of a NY supplier, where I might get one within a day or so? Many thanks again. I've lost a few hours browsing through this subject! [wife]what are you getting into now?[/wife]
