  1. Guys, I have an issue with my system I can't figure out. I have a 4 camera Hikvision system with NVR. During playback on any Android device I get an "abnormal playback" error when trying to replay recordings. The recording plays fine for a few seconds, then stops and gives me the error. I've been trying to fix this for days. Any idea what may be causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Yeah, thanks for pointing that out.
  3. Just got a reply from HikvisionUSA tech support on this issue. They would not support my cameras because I purchased them from Amazon. I do believe I'm done with Hikvision all together.
  4. Anybody happen to have a link to this version of firmware? Upgraded to 5.1 and now my web interface does not work. Thanks.
  5. I tried and tried and tried to get my hik 2032 using IMVS-4200 to record on motion as well with not luck. I installed PCNVR which is also Hikvision software and got that working. FYI.
  6. In case you're interested, here is a very good review of the camera you're looking at. May answer some of your questions. http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1968#more-1968
  7. I just installed xprotectgo and I could not enter the code either. After pulling my hair out for a while trying to figure it out, I noticed the email I got had a license file in it and directions for what to do with it. Basically I had to save it to my computer, then go into the xprotectgo management app and under "file" at the top left, there is a "manage license offline" option -----> "import license". Navigate to where it was saved on your computer to import it. Re-started it and all was registered/licensed as it should be.

I'm not exactly an expert but I just installed 3 of the 2032 bullets. You'll need to plug it into a POE port from either a network switch or NVR (or separate power supply) to get it setup on your network. As far as the cables go, I drilled a one inch hole where I mounted them so I could get all the cabling out of the elements.
  9. Hi, I just started setting up an ip camera system. I've got three hikvision 2032 bullets so far. I'm looking for a standalone NVR that is compatible with my cameras. Any thoughts on a solid NVR that is reasonably priced. Say around $500 or less?
  10. I do believe I'm going to go this route. I was just seeing if there were any other comparable NVR's out there in the same price range. I think this is probably the best way to go just for compatibility. Thanks for the reply.

    Basic IP setup

Hi Guys. New here. I've been reading here for a week or so. I need a basic IP POE camera system at my house, specifically for my driveway to start. Had some items stolen from my pickup. I'm still a little confused on exactly what hardware I need. So I need cameras, poe network switch to go to the router and software installed on a computer to view/manage the the video. Is that about it for a basic system to start? I just want to get a couple cameras up and going on the driveway to start, then build up from there. Any suggestions/links to suggested hardware would be appreciated. I would like to get a couple cameras up and running for $500-$1000 if possible. Thanks for any help.

    Basic IP setup

Well, I bought a camera (Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I) and a POE switch and got the camera running. Looks like to motion record I'm going to need an NAS or NVR. Is there a way to record straight to the computer (Win7) that's running the software? Leaning towards just getting an NVR. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced NVR compatible with this camera? Thanks for any help.
