Hi MaxIcon, I was hoping that you have sliver my issue but after checking it is across both cards. Thanks anyway. myplace46, to be honest I really didn't notice any improvement in picture quality on my system. Maybe Im doing something wrong . Did you notice the improvement in preview, playback or both ?

tomcctv thanks again and I'm sorry for all the questions. I did go to pull the fuses one at a time and found that I don't have individual ones (see pic below) I did disconnect each analog camera one at a time but it did not completely solve the problem. What I did find was the no matter what camera that I disconnected from the power supply the jumping seemed to lessen with one camera less connected. Also I did find that 2 of the cameras had the "enable deinterlace" option checked which I turned off. All this seemed to help a bit with the jumping and the bleed over seems to have stopped. So I'm left with a small jitter/ jump that is enough to set off the motion detectors even when turned down quite low. Now here is the strange part it is hardly noticeable when I have the system on normal mode 9 channels. When I put the system in full screen or compact mode the jitter comes back. I have changed monitors and that did not help. 4 of the 6 analog cameras are CNB VBM 24VF, 1 KT&C 12V and a 12V no name. I know that the CNB's can run 12v or 24v and the KT&T seems ok but do you think the fact my power supply is 12v could be the issue ? Should I upgrade to a 24v panel ? Thank you in advance. I

Thank you so much for the reply. I see what you mean about the picture rolling, I think its the next camera (6 then 7). Some of the cameras are cat5 and some coax. How do you think I should start the troubleshooting ?

Looking for a bit of advice please. I have a NV5000 using 7 of 8 channels with 6 analog and one IP camera. The 6 analog cameras are powered by one central power supply. Every now and then on one random of the 6 analog cameras the picture will bounce / jitter for a second. This is noticeable on preview and playback. I have attached a screenshot. I would be very grateful of any help.

I wonder if anyone would be so grateful to help with an issues that I am having ? I have just upgraded my PC from a 5 year old P4 running a 128MB graphics card and XP pro to a new systems with the following specs : Dell Vostro 230 Intel Core Duo E7500 2.93GHz 3.0 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 310 512MB Windows 7 Home premium NV5000 DVR Version 7.7.0.0055 8 channels (using 6 analog and 1 IP cameras ) Dell 1704fpv monitor running at 1280 x 1024 Everything went well with the upgrade apart from one issue, the system runs fine in full screen mode (showing 9 channels) but when I click to look at one camera in fullscreen I get a flashing image of that camera on only half the screen. It is the same while trying to play recorded video with one camera in full screen mode, it works fine with one camera not in full screen, this worked fine on the old system and I found it strange to be having this problem with such a new system. On the advice on avermedia support (who have been very helpful) I did the following : the video card driver that was installed was the MS driver 8.16.11.9111 (10/26/2009) I updated the driver to the latest NVIDIA driver 258.96 (2010.07.19) and it did not help with the full screen one camera problem. In fact when I was in full screen 9 camera mode with the new driver it caused some of the windows to be jittery and jump. I rolled back to the old driver and that problem stopped. I spoke to Avermedia again and they suggested that change the resolution to 1024 x 768 and although this did not stop the "flashing" the flashing picture does now fit the whole screen I did reinstall the latest NVIDIA drivers and in full screen 9 camera mode at the new resolution (1024x768) the jittering has stopped but the flashing is still there in one camera full screen. Also I don't know if it is relevant but the flashing picture only happens in full screen one camera mode on the analog cameras, with the one IP camera that I have on the system I just get a blank screen no flashing , no picture, before the upgrade this was never a problem. I'm just wondering why lower the resolution, is it because the screen is 4:3 and the cameras are only 525 lines ? I thought the max resolution was always the way to go Thank you in advance for your help and sorry for the long post.

Thanks again Soundy, I'm sold.

Soundy, thanks for the reply. I'm leaning towards the VCM-24VF, do you think that would be a good choice for a low/street light situation ? Thanks again

Hi I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to help me with a couple of questions that I have about CNB dome cameras ? I have read the board and seem to have got as far as I can without asking for help I'm looking to replace a couple of the bullet I/R cameras in my home security system with domes. I'm interested either the VBM-24F, VMC-24F or VBM-24VD, I just wanted to confirm the differences between them. I know that the VCM-24Vf is dual mount and the VBM-24VF has a different lens but I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction with the other differences. The cameras will be used outdoor in a low/street light setting and Im thinking of getting the brackets to wall mount them. I have a total of 6 cameras (IP indoor and cheap bullets) connected to a AmerMedia NV500 As I said its only a home system but I though as a couple of the cheap bullets are starting to go bad (failing IR's ect) I would talk the opportunely to upgrade the cameras. Thank you in advance

Hi Guys just recently switched over from Geovision to Avermedia and I had a couple of questions. if I am not accessing the remote viewer from outside of my LAN is the card still uploading ? I have a bandwidth meter on the DVR PC and as you can imagine it showing a lot of activity, which I hope is just the IP cams. Its just my ISP has a huge problem with uploading and I want to make sure that I am not going over my allowance. I know with the Geovision card that it does not upload to the net unless its accessed from outside the LAN. Thank you in advance for your help.

At the moment for a home system I have a GV-800 4 with four analog cameras and I was looking to add 2 Axis IP cameras for a total of 6 cameras. After some research I thought I could just buy the Geovision NVR 2 cam license and add the cams for a total of 6 cameras. After some confusion It seems that if I buy the Geovision Hybrid NVR key for approx. $250 I can view and add the two IP cameras to my existing setup. This seems an expensive route just for a home system and I really don’t used a fraction of the Geovision features. Would I be crazy to buy a AverMeida NV5000 and sell the GV 800 on ebay ? I have had no experience with AverMeida but it seems a lot easier to expand the system. Thanks in advance for reading

Thanks again JD, heres an other question if you dont mind. So to upgrade my GV card I have to buy a dongle license for approx $250. Should I take that $250 and buy a AverMeida card and not have to worry about a license ? I could sell the GV800 on ebay The system I have is only for home security and it seems that the GV systems is expensive and overkill for home use. Thank you in advance for reading

Thanks JD I'm running GV 8.2, the store I was talking to said that the max number of cams (IP and analog) was 4. I thought it strange as you said the GUI supports 16. The GV software even finds the Axis IP camera on my network but will not let me install it as it says "connection failed. Limited by USB key the number is 0" So if I buy say a 2 license of the Geovision NVR I should be ok ?

Hi Im sorry if this has been asked before, I did search but Im still a bit confused. At the moment I have a GV-800 4 with four analog cameras and I was looking to add 2 Axis IP cameras. After some research I thought I could just buy the Geovision NVR 2 cam license and add the cams for a total of 6 cameras. I was told buy a friend today that the maximum total number of cams (IP and analog) that I could have with the 4 port card is 4 and that I would have to buy a new 6 port card and the NVR license. Is this the case ? Thank you in advance for your help.
