  1. Hello, I am looking for a camera that is hard to find. It is a board camera with a 1/1.8" sensor, very good for low-light conditions. It's called the SC1020 I think. A person on another website did some comparison tests with other cameras: According to him it was very difficult to find a seller, so I thought I'd ask here with people who deal in CCTV business everyday: Anybody know of a source where this camera can be purchased?? Thank you. tags: SMARTSENS
  2. Rory, Can you please provide more detail on this picture? Given the equipment, this license plate capture seems really good to me! I am presently really struggling with license capture at night using my analog cameras. Thanks! Bump. Want to know too. Nothing huh?
  3. Is this forum even active anymore? How about VideoSecu brand??

    Megapixel pinhole lens??

Hello, I'm looking for an actual megapixel coned pinhole lens. Preferably in the 1/2" sensor range. Lower "f" rating the better (ex: f/1.2 or lower). There are tons of stuff (like this)online, but who knows what is real or not. Thank you. Sincerely, IM

    Lens Adapter

Yes they do. I don't know if anyone here has used one and can give us their experience. BUMP. IM
  6. Why don't you use fibre then? Guaranteed interference free (both ways). Ilkie Have been thinking about that too, but haven't researched it. A a fiber-optic cable between the camera aperture and the lens. No metal. Got any links? But I still need to find some RG59 Siamese.
  7. Hi, Any decent and trusted sources for finding 75ohm BNC/F/RCA/etc. adapters and connectors? I don't see spending over $.75-1.00ea for them either. Also, S&H is a problem.. Not interested when the S&H is twice as much as the product. Ebay would work, but there's no telling what I'm getting. Thank you. IM
  8. To bad there isn't a website that shows detailed lab tests of certain cable types with documented results. BTW, There is RG59 with an extra layer of foil too. What to you think: http://www.cctvopticallens.com/product/3-7mm-2Megapixel-F2-5-M12-Mount-Sharp-Cone-Pinhole-Lens.html I can't sell my kidney to buy Belden, sorry. True. However, getting more a little more tight and in-depth: There are also security reasons. Anything that gives off radiation (heat, light, radio, etc.) can be detected. The objective is to shield the systems from detection. There are materials, including paints made for shielding.
  9. So, how's it going? How's ADI? What's the word on RG59 Siamese? Are the prices good? Thanks. IM
  10. Ok. Did you ever use adapters like the ones above in your line of work? Where they true 75ohm impedance?
  11. Thanks. You've had experience with them? They know the difference between a 50ohm and 75ohm adapter/connector I hope? A lot of these sites aren't listing the impedance!! And the listed pictures are probably just mass-issue and they look like 50ohm.
  12. Thanks Jerome. Checked out Ideal, they look like they have connectors but they don't have adapters. Any source for items like theses?
  13. Interference to the CCTV system is a concern too, that's why I figured coax would be better. Thanks for the info. And RG6 can work just as well or better than RG59 as long as the requirements (materials(BC), braid coverage(95%), and impedance(75ohms)) are met, yes? They make R6 that has the same specs as RG59 but with, IIRC, larger gauge center wire. Toss, How do measure radio interference? Spectrum analyzer?
  14. I'm glad this topic came up. I need to setup some CCTV within a foot of some hyper-sensitive radio equipment, so I can't have any interference from the CCTV equipment. That's why I'm looking for some good siameses rg59/rgr6, instead of cat6 for instance.
  15. Yes, I second this. Jerome, everybody: Any links to quality Siamese Cable at a decent, un-Belden prices? Need to order some in the next couple of days. Thank you.
  16. What is the power consumption of analog cameras and DVRs compared to digital/IP cameras and DVRs? Running Standby Off What are each systems response time? Starting up Event trigger I've used analog cams because I've been under the impression they are less complex and computerized (which is good). Also, my systems my need to run off a battery rather then mains. Thank you. IM
  17. They have completely different uses. This is basic info..read the product descriptions...one cannot replace the other. It was a rhetorical-sort of question for the sake of conversation. My point being that you can pay hundreds for CCTV cams, and hundreds for DVRs, and they need a steady feed of power. But TrailCams -assuming a properly made one- can cost around $200 and up, are wonderfully efficient (up to a year on 12 AA Lith.), can record video and sound at a quality that can be better than a full hardwired CCTV system, and only run when triggered. It just bugs me is all, why someone can't sell a system that works like a TrailCam. TrailCams would be ideal for building/vehicle/field surveillance were it not for their all-contained physical shape.. you know, have a CCTV system that is essentially a TrailCam except the parts (cams, mics, PIR, power, IR, etc.) could be separate and connected via ports in the main DVR unit.
  18. Thanks almelst. Related question: Aren't "Trail Cameras" superior to your average analog or digital system? Why or why not?
  19. Hi, Does anyone know what kind of cable should be used for a motor-home CCTV system. Vibration, space and flexibility are the issue. Should I just used 75ohm RCA cable.. like the kind found packaged with small board cams? Is there a mini-coax of some kind out there? Shielding is important too, as there may be a lot of sensitive radio equipment in the vicinity. Thank you. Sincerely, IM

    Sony ExView CCD cameras?

Hello. I'm looking for a exceptionally good very-low-light camera. From what I understand the Sony ExView 1/3" CCD sensor is not bad. Both the following camera use the ExView, should I expect the same results from them? Cam1:http://www.supercircuits.com/700-tvl-cone-pinhole-lens-board-camera-pc602uxp Cam2:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0XR-002P-00036&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-CCTV%2FAnalog+Cameras-_-0XR-002P-00036&gclid=CJGdxPGH0c4CFVFgfgodRkULqg&gclsrc=aw.ds ..or this one(?): http://www.surveilzone.com/dc5v-700tvl-sony-960h-ccd-20x20mm-ultra-mini-camera-3.6mm-lens-hs1165 Thank you. Sincerely, IM
  21. Anybody know what the official size of the following camera is? http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Home-520TVL-Micro-HD-Night-Vision-Security-Spy-Mini-CCTV-Camera-Module-/171329360742 A source for lenses? Thank you. Sincerely, IM

    RG59 Siamese Cable Prices

BUMP. Any recommendation on sources? (Cheap and of good quality) Sincerely, IM
  23. Hi. I'm going to be running a cable straight from a raw DVR board to a raw board camera. No connectors involved. RG59, all copper, Siamese cable right? Home Depot or Lowes might have some locally, or do you all have a good brand? Burial-ready would be a plus. Lastly, what about audio? I'm assuming I'll need to run a separate RCA cable for that..or can I get a cable that has all three (A/V & Pwr)? Thanks. Sincerely, IM
