  1. Ok now we getting somewhere. How did you wipe flash before updating firmware. Ill do that. I have a 2100 which is working flawless ... With this NVR. But it is newer firmware. I tried reseting one camera with onboard reset button but it never recovered. The intresting part about all this that when I was upgrading last time the cameras went down when SS service was disabled. I misswrote they are not rebooting. They are dying, dropping of the network and never coming back, Im guessing they are hanging. I can not get any other NVR at this time, Im invested in to synology and this cameras. This is what I have right now, changing NVR is not an option specially that 8 other cameras are working perfect including 1 dahua. And they worked fine before as well. So please help me with my setup not help me change it at this time.
  2. There is no logic .... But how would a system that had only view account would screw up the cams ? But i dont have synology in picture now and they are still rebooting. I cant explain it can you ?
  3. I did this multiple times. One of the cams that I tried to reset from the button on the cam it self and it never recovered its dead now . I cant deal with this cameras any more.
  4. Ok so here is the thing. I have been going crazy with this for over a week. Last week it just started working. No crashes nothing, just began working. Then I saw that Synology had another update for the DSM and I updated it. When update started, just this 2 cameras crashed again. Had to be reboot and so the circle started again. SO me being sure it was the synology. I disabled the camera in synology and too my surprise, it crashed again. With nothing connected to it. Both cameras crash at almost always at x.45-55 on the hour. Like some kind of a job running on them. I sniffed the traffic to the cameras in wireshark and all I see are my pings, and some upnp discovery traffic (which I disabled on cams btw) I`m stuck. The old root password for dahua is not working to login and check maybe there is a cron working or something. I dont know, what else to do. I have a 2100 which is stable, but firmware is never on it. I really need help as I have to manually reboot (poe) my cameras. Some more info: The both crash at the same exact time, which is just bizarre.. The firmware is NTSC from December last year. I cant find newer for NTSC. I have just been stumped on what to do here. Some how Synology upgrade triggered the crashes, but with synology out of picture they are still continue to crash or something... Strange enough, I have a scheduled reboot at 2am, so if the camera drops of the network at lets say 1am, at 2am it will still reboot, but then at 3 will go down again, 2:55am to be exact.
  5. If it stops rebooting/shutting down that this will fix my problem.
  6. Again pointing to a bug in the camera for not understanding standards. Question at hand right now. Can I use PAL firmware ? I see the latest v2.42 can I use on the NTSC camera ? i know in synology I can change to use PAL as the source.
  7. Its a 4200s and it was working fine. I dont see how synology with view only account can shutdown a camera.
  8. Im sorry Im not here to argue whos fault it is or not, but if ipc is shutting down from a nvr which using a view only account. That would seem a problem with an ipc specially that other 9 cameras from other brands and 1 from same brand model 2100 is not having this issue. I found a PAL version if the latest firm, do you guys think I can use that ?
  9. Look at the prices of the DVRs. This is my home setup. The Synology was working good... Seems the firmware on the cameras is the issues. I`m sorry, but if you have any input on where to get the firmware....
  10. I`m starting to get the same issue with the latest Synology and 4200S cameras. The issue with this cameras they dont reboot, they shutdown. I updated to the v2.4 firmware, but issue still persists. Looking for v2.42 for the 4200S in NTSC format... This is painful.
  11. Hello, Does any one know where to get a NTSC version of this firmware ? General_IPC-HX5(4)XXX_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.420.0000.0.R.20140419.bin I seemed to hit a wall, where my cameras are shutting down, after synology upgrade.
  12. Nope did not find a fix. It was rebooting. I have it connected to Synology and, what I did to make it reboot less, is change the camera IP, remove the camera in Synology add as new, then created view only username on the camera.
  13. I know this is an old post, but I just ended up with a hwd4200SN and the onvif snapshot is a hit or miss. I`m using houselinc and it sends me a camera snapshot when motion is detected and light is turn on outside. The houselinc has issues with the pictures, so do I in a browser. They seemed to come up once in a while, but then stop. I also tried setting the quality to 1 (also lowered the resolution on main feed) and that seems to help with retrieving the snapshots, but they look very poor. Please help, is there another URL or somethign else I can do the firmware I have on it is: 2.210.0000.9.R, build : 2013-12-17 Thanks in advance
  14. I have an 8 way PoE switch, with just the 1 camera plugged in so it shouldn't be a problem with the power supply? I've checked network settings and everything looks right. Logs as below... resetting to factory settings but not yet tried the reset button on the camera itself. I'm losing 4 minutes of footage an hour which isn't good Same exact issue for me ! I`m on my 5th camera and they all doing the same thing. Did you ever figure this out ? Or just sent it back ? I`m using synology as the NVR
  15. Funny you should say that. As I purchased another same camera, from a diffrent seller and waiting for it to show up this weekend or Monday. I will keep it at least until I get that second camera. I did bring it back outside last night and over night I only had 1 reboot and nothing during the day. I will be returning it, since this is not stable at all, but other ways I like this camera, even if some menu and options are glitchy...
  16. Thank you for the reply. It does not look like the camera is actually loosing power. It looks like it reboots it self. The camera log message is showing "abort" log event, then "startup". I`m using Cisco SG300-10MP switch and it doesnt even look like the interface resets when the camera restarts it self. I have been monitoring with SNMP, but since turned it off... This is driving me crazy. I can try to move it back inside and see what happenes. But its a pain for me to mount it outside. Just took my cable tester and tested the cable all the way thru tests fine. I removed the camera outside and installed it at another run. Lets see how it holds up. I was monitoring it via telnet and I can see it crash, but Ill go thru motions again.... Just as expected. After being inside for about 1.5 hours the camera crashed again and rebooted. So you guys think I got a lemon ? Return ?

  19. Hello, I have the same issue. Seems I get 2 emails with the motion detect and then motion stop, but never a snapshot. I just got this camera and I need this function. EDIT: My camera is IPC-HDW2100
