    car reg plates

How far can you read plates with that setup?
  2. Is there a reason external IR illuminators don't use reflectors? They all seem to just be LED mounted to a board. If you were to take the same IR led and have one mounted on a board with no reflector and one mounted with a reflector with a reflectors I wonder what the difference would be. If you were to mount a regular led light from a flashlight in the same way it won't close to the throw it has with a reflector.
  3. Uninstall the old WebComponents then goto the cameras webpage and let it push out the new version.
  4. That is from a 2CD2032 (I am not connecting directly, but through a DS-7716NI-ST, the camera is not accessible from wan). I could also try with iVMS-4500 HD, and I am sure it would work the same way. How do you have the connection settings set? I have: Register Mode [iP/Domain] Address [My Cameras Internal IP] Port [8000]
  5. You can change the stream with iVMS-4500. I use iVMS-4500 on my Nexus 4, iVMS-4500 HD on my Nexus 10, and also IP Cam Viewer Pro on both of them. Have the iVMS 4500 HD on my Nexus 7, when ever I try to change from Balanced to a Custom or Fluent, it just says 'Not Supported by this device.' My camera is a Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I it should work fine.
  6. That's the app I have been using, I tried the hikvision official app. But its lags alot, the frames update like every 3-4 seconds for me, I think its using the main stream and not the substream and I won't let me change it. The "IP Cam Viewer" app streams smooth.
  7. Has anyone here tried the DS-2CD2232-I5 (12mm) I would really like to see how it compares to the (DS-2CD2032-I) 12mm. http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_show.asp?id=7741&showid=1
  8. I think its a bug, if you select the Auto you don't get the option to have separate settings. If I specify a time for it to switch I get the settings. What is the best way to report defects to Hikvision, does anyone have a direct email address.
  9. Will camera in night mode such as the Hikvision 2032 work through a single pane of glass, if there is a external IR illuminator outside and the IR on the camera is disabled? Or will the glass block the camera from seeing the IR light outside?
  10. Do Dahua camera work with most any software that any other ONVIF camera will work with? Will a Dahua ONVIF compliant camera work with Hikvisions IVMS software or most NVR's?
  11. I do believe I'm going to go this route. I was just seeing if there were any other comparable NVR's out there in the same price range. I think this is probably the best way to go just for compatibility. Thanks for the reply. Check out this thread, I posted a similar question. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=39085
  12. The camera seems to do well in low light with IR disabled, i can actually see better with it turned off. It is really dark out in this picture the streetlight isn't as bright as it appears. From camera to the middle of the street is 100 feet. It is just me or does it look better with IR disabled. Use the parked car for reference. Night Mode with IR Night Mode IR Disabled
  13. So how is that going to work when the camera cant see anything because its dark? If the camera was used in an area with zero light then it wouldn't work and the feature wouldn't need to be used. For applications where the camera may want to be more discrete without a visible IR light. Most decent cameras can see good enough in low light to detect motion without IR, then have it come on when its needed. It wouldn't be something commonly used, but it would be easy to add with a simple firmware change.
  14. Yeah I upgraded to the 5.1 firmware.
  15. Looking for a NVR that will support 4 or 8 Hikvision IP cameras for under $400 without with the harddrive. Requirements: I want something that will record 1080P or 3M camera without any loss of quality. Reputable company that puts out regular software updates and has good support. I found this 4 camera one for under $400: http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/Products_show.asp?id=4142
  16. Did they change the look of it without changing the model #? Some look like this: The newer ones look like this:
  17. Now that the IR Leds can be disabled in night mode, I really wish they could be triggered to come on when motion is detected only.
  18. I have a couple questions about the Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I. I know the camera has built in software and settings for recording to a NFS, how do the settings affect the output if I want to use something like Blue Iris. For example if I have settings like timestamp on the video, color settings, etc set in the cameras web interface, will Blue Iris inherit these? Or does it just get a raw stream from the camera and Blue Iris will have it own settings? I don't have a NFS so I want to use something like Blue Iris and save directly to hard drive. Where can I download the latest firmware from on the Hikvision website?
  19. Thanks, Have you ever tried FreeNFS under Windows, looks like it lets you mount a folder on a computer as NFS. Maybe I can use this and have the camera write to it since the camera doesn't support network shares, I wouldn't need BI then.
  20. What about all the other settings in the camera itself, what is the best way to configure the camera if you are using something like Blue Iris. Like motion detection just leave all those disabled in the camera, then let Blue Iris do its own? Or stuff like the resolution 1080P vs 3MP. Leave it set the highest in the camera then in the Blue Iris set it to the one I want?
