Hikvision v5.1 NAS struggles
steuk replied to ImAStreamer's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello, I have a Syno DS414. Did you try to work with Surveillance station ? I'm using 5.1 firmware, and everything is working well. (some bugs though - example : Ihad to set my cams as PSIA devices because my Syno doesn't know DS-2CD2332-I / can't tell surveillance station to use hik cams video resolution, otherwise it tells me camera is not connected, so I force it to the same resolution...) -
IVMS Configuration when no NVR (only IP cams)
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello, At home, it works. Now I configured a camera with the following ports : HTTP : 11080 RTSP : 11554 SDK : 11800 So from the internet the ports to reach are the same as inside my network. I setup HiDDNS successfully, but no connection when trying from iVMS-4500. Am I missing something ? On iVMS-4500 Alias TEST Register Mode HiDDNS Server Address http://www.hik-online.com Device domain my cam serial User Name admin Password ************ (password to reach my cam through web) FYI : DS-2CD2332-I (eyeball cam), firmware 5.1 -
IVMS Configuration when no NVR (only IP cams)
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello, and thanks again for your help. You're talking about IVMS-4200. Mine is IVMS-4500. Do I need to install IVMS-4200 ? I thought it was the NVR software (I don't use any NVR) Ok, so I understand better how it works now. My Hikvision can't give the right port to use to Hik DDNS because it doesn't know it !!! On my Hikvision cam, RTSP is set to 554 so I guess it tells Hik DDNS to reach 554 (and not 11554 which is only known by my router) So, should I set on my hik cam RTSP port to 11554 (since this the port to reach from Internet ?) ? For information, right now the path from the web is : Web --> ISP ROUTER PORT 11554 --> LOCAL ROUTEUR PORT 11554 --> CAMERA PORT 554 -
IVMS Configuration when no NVR (only IP cams)
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I totally agree with you ! What I don't get is how IVMS knows my SDK and RTSP ports ??? From Internet, to reach my first cam I need to reach my router on the following ports : 11080 for http 11554 for RTSP 11800 for SDK On IVMS I can't specifiy ports (only web port), so I guess I tries 554 and/or 8000 (got an error : "Receiving data from device timed out"). How can I change it ? -
IVMS Configuration when no NVR (only IP cams)

What I don't get is that on hikvision DDNS (Europe or Online) you don't specify RTSP and SDK port. So how can it find these informations (on my router I can't forward 554 and 8000 directly, because I have several cams, so I will have to change the ports...) ? -
IVMS Configuration when no NVR (only IP cams)
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
First, thank you for your answers !!! As I said before I thought that "connection failed" meant http access not OK. That's why I didn't try forwarding of other ports yet (and the fact that I need to setup port forwarding on two different routers at home ), when I read you I guess I was wrong to think that way. I also think Hik DDNS isn't really good (sometimes it says connection OK to my cam, sometimes it says offline...), I will try to use my Syno DDNS. About using IP/Domain, my ISP gives me a dynamic IP, so I can use IP/Domain for a try but not for long term connectivity... Well tonight I'll configure my port forwarding and make new tests. -
Syno surveillance station configuration questions
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think I need to define a better area for motion detection (threes move - we have lot of wind these days)... About recording, I want to set motion detection when I'm not at home, and continously record the remaining time (with no notification). You may think it's strange, but the reason is simple : I have a baby, and you know babys can be funny sometimes. So if something happens that I want to keep in mind forever, I'd better record it on my cams My question is : Do I set motion hours on my cameras (since I asked Surveillance Station to use my cam motion detection) or in SS ? Same question applies for simple recording all the remaining time. Thanks for your help. -
Syno surveillance station configuration questions
steuk posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello all, I installed my 6 cams at home saturday (I'm really glad !). Now I want to setup my surveillance station. So I added one cam (Onvif, because DS-2CD2332-I is not known by Syno yet) and started to play with it. I have two questions : How can I configure it to send substream with the emails ? (I configured emails notifications so I receive alarms on my mailbox, but no video attached) How can I make it record in 4:3 ? (it records videos in 16:9 which streches the image) Thanks by advance. -
Syno surveillance station configuration questions
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
On my cam I can choose "0" or "20" (nothing between these 2 numbers). Are you able to set "10" for example ? At "20", I still have more motion detection than expected, should I set "0" instead or does "0" mean no motion detection at all ? In these conditions motion detection is almost unusable for me...Is there a way to make it more accurate ? (some settings I didn't find...) -
Syno surveillance station configuration questions
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That's what I thought (but I was really not sure ), thank you for the confirmation. About sensitivity, high number means high sensitivity (i.e : at 100, you catch bugs ) ? -
Syno surveillance station configuration questions
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I just configured my cam as a PSIA device. Now I can choose to record with my camera motion detection (not on Surveillance Station motion detection). So I configured my area to detect movement directly on the cam. What I don't get is : I configure my area on the cam, and I configure on surveillance where to record (on nas) and what to do (send email), am I right doing like this ? It's a kind of mixed configuration and it gives me a headache... -
Purchasing HikVision DS-2CD2732F-I(S)
steuk replied to Zoperd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm afraid you won't find the price you want unless you choose Aliexpress... What's the problem with them ? -
Hello all, I found the DS-2CD8464F-EIW cam on the web (Hikvision) but I'm not sure to understand all the features of this small cute cam. Here are my questions : On google when I find pictures of it, it seems there is a USB port on this cam. Am i right ? What is it used for ? On the specs, I see "Embedded alarm device I/O transceiver"...what is it ? On some google pictures, I see a small remote control with the cam, but on fewpictures only. So is it a fake or is it supposed to be with the cams (and what for ? start/stop the cam ? trigger manually the alarm output ?...) I see there is a reset button. Does it mean that anybody can access to it ? There is a PIR human detection...really working as intended ??? Can you help me ? Thanks by advance for your help !!!

WD Purple NVR hard drives
steuk replied to drocer's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If you're not in a hurry, I received 2 days ago my 6 Hik cams and I will set them on saturday. They will record videos on my Syno DS414 (4 x 4TB Red). In a week I should be able to tell you if I loose some videos. Or maybe someone will have the answer before that -

NVR and alarm input/output
steuk replied to steuk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Good ! Thank you for the informations... -
Hello all, On some NVR, (hikvision for me) I see there is 1 alarm input/output. Let's say my NVR in plugged into a "sound alarm" (I don't know if it's the right word, but I guess you understand me ). When will the sound alarm be launched? On motion detection of one cam, of all cams or something else ?

Hikviision Tower NVR
steuk replied to Boogieman's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It looks like a NAS more than a NVR, but supports only 2 HDD. I wouldn't be surprised it's a real Hikvision model, you know Hik are chinese, and sellers on aliexpress too so they are the first to have new models. If you're scared, just ask Hikvision through their website. It's really cheaper than other hik nvr (DS-77XXni-sp), but not the same features I guess, for example : 4HDD vs 2HDD (or 2HDD + DVD vs 2HDD) buttons on NVR to select channel vs no button And maybe other things I didn't notice... -
Hikvision Domes in Low light

I didn't know that...Do you know why ??? -
Hello all, I finally received my 6 DS-2CD2332-I, and I can say that I'm very happy with the video quality ! Now I think of having alarms, and I'm wondering how many kind of alarms exist and how they are sorted. What comes to me: Information alarms (tells me something's wrong) 1. Email 2. SMS Dissuasive alarms (makes the thief go away) 1. Siren 2. Two ways audio (to speak directly through the camera) Do you see more categories/alarms ?
