Cannot import .mp4 into Premiere Pro due to header problem
Shinobi posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi guys, I have a HIKVISION DS-2CD2532-ISW which records in H264 and outputs .mp4 files. The files can be viewed in VLC without any problem, but I cannot import the files into any video cutting program. I tried Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas. Premiere Pro states, that there is an error in the header information of the file. I tried different solutions and bit rates, but nothing works. Do you have any idea what might be the problem? I also tried a different OEM camera. Same codec and 720p resolution. Those videos do work! -
HIKVISION DS-2CD2732F-IS Audio on failed
Shinobi posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I just installed a 3,5mm jack to the audio in cables and connected my mp3 player to see, if I get an input sound. Problem is, that when I try to active the sound in the live view, I get a popup error saying "Audio on failed". Also when I try to use different audio encoding settings, it always goes back to the default one. Any ideas what could be the problem? Complete reset to default settings did not solve it. -
Box camera for Theia SY110 lens
Shinobi posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I want to record a large area and do this without (or very little) distortion. My latest approach is a box camera plus a Theia SY110 lens with a FOV of 120°. Now I'm looking for a suitable camera. My requirements are 1080p 25fps recording possibility and of course it must be compatible with the lens... I looked at some Hikvision box cameras, which may be compatible, but I'm not sure... Any other suggestions? Maximum price for the camera should not exceed 300$ if possible. Does anyone alternatively know some all-in-one cameras that have such a wide FOV and no distortion? Thank you guys! -
Hi, maybe I'm too stupid for the software, but I couldn't manage to make a recording with the AxxonSoft Software. I can see my camera liew view and would like to start recording and when I stop, there should be a video file somewhere... Like in every other software. Thanks for some help

HIKVISION DS-2CD2732F-IS Audio on failed
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
update: audio is working now with MP2L2 encoding settings. I'm not 100% sure what was the solution, but it seems that it was the because the network settings where on "auto". i switched them to 100M full duplex and suddenly i can save the audio settings. weird -
HIKVISION DS-2CD2732F-IS Audio on failed
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
ok so after disconnecting the camera over night, the audio in can be enabled again. i also hear the live audio when i activate it in the live view. the problem is, that it seems not to be recorded or at least it cannot be played. VLC tells me that there is an audio track, but i hear nothing. The default audio encoding setting is: G.711ulaw I would like to change it to something else like MP2L2. When I do that and click "save". Everything seems to be ok, but when I go to another setting and come back to audio, it's on G.711ulaw again. Any ideas? -
Hi, I was wondering which external microphones I can connect to a HIKVISION DS-2CD2732F-IS camera. Do they use a standard 3.5mm connector? Any suggestions for a good microphone? People will be a few meters away from the camera... THX guys

HIKVISION + external audio
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I know an IP camera is not perfect, but for my purpose it's the best solution. Trust me, I've looked at other options like webcams, action cams, camcorder etc. Can you show me an example microphone, which would be good for me? -
HIKVISION + external audio
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Maybe i should clarify what kind of audio i want to record. It will used at paintball fields. Camera and mic will be 3 meters away from the field and i want to have the audio of the game and what people are screaming on the field. Any idea for a good mic? -
HIKVISION + external audio
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
no, of course i would prefer a microphone without batteries, but i thought the audio would be too low or not work at all. in my scenario i would only use the microphone for a few hourse during a weekend, but if the outcome is good enough, i definitely prefer a good and small outdoor microphone without the need for batteries or a power supply. any other microphone suggestions? -
HIKVISION + external audio

thanks for the advice. i was thinking about this microphone here. http://clickme2.com/microphones/117-boya-by-vm01-mini-microphone.html but i'm not sure about the quality. i really don't want to have a separate 12v cable just for the microphone, so if unamplified mics work too, thats good news -
Cannot import .mp4 into Premiere Pro due to header problem
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
ok thanks for the axxon next software. i will take a look at it. i tried to use ispy (also freeware), but it takes up a lot of cpu power and the framerate is dropping a lot. impossible to record at constant 25fps. i will sit on the pc and press start and stop myself to create separate video files. in the end i will have two cameras that record independent of each other. in the configuration, i can go to "image" and select variable or constant bitrate. for constant i choose the number myself. when on variable i can choose between different image quality settings... low, middle, high, maximum -
Cannot import .mp4 into Premiere Pro due to header problem
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm not using the camera for surveillance, so this is why I want to be able to edit the video files. Right now I'm using the webbrowser interface to start and stop recording. It uses almost no CPU power. Yes, there is a setting to have a fixed framerate which should help. I will try your quick fix, but need to install ffmpeg first and is it possible to just replace the existing file? Since there will be many files in my directory, a loop would be perfect to fix all files at once. -
HIKVISION + external audio

i'm pretty sure thats gonna be a stupid question, but i'm really no expert with microphones... Q: How many cables do I need for the microphone? Only the mic-in? What if I also need to power the microphone? Is there also an option for that? -
Cannot import .mp4 into Premiere Pro due to header problem
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the codecs did not help, but Format Converter made the file readable for premiere pro. I still hope I can figure out a way of import the files straight into those programs. -
130° 720p or more IP camera
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks for the link. I will test it out. A seller on aliexpress told me, that the DS-2CD2532-ISW with 2.8mm reaches a angle of 90°. Thats less than I expected, but good news for me, since the angle is also sufficient, although I still would prefer a wider one. They also say that the DS-2CD2732F reaches 98° and not 105°. I tried contacting HIKVISION support to get the infos straight from them. Let's see what they say... -
Hi everyone! I hope you can give me some good advise on cameras. Here is what I want to do. I want to record sports games with a good 720p or even 1080p IP camera. I will set up one camera on each side of the field and start the recording, depending on which team is playing. The recording is done on my pc with VLC. I bought a pretty cheap 130 degree 960p camera on aliexpress to test the FOV. The results are ok, but I'm not perfectly happy with the image quality and the camera sometimes is not reacting and makes problems... Also there is no mic in the camera, but I need audio too. I was searching for good cameras and wanted to get some opinions of you cctv pros. Here is what i need from the camera - 115-130° horizontal viewing angle - 720p or 1080p at 25-30fps - PoE - included mic or some option to connect a microphone for audio - vandalproof - waterproof (if possible) - constant frame rate of at least 25fps - good and sharp image quality (I record running people) I found these two cameras which look pretty solid. - AXIS M-3005V - ACTi E93 any other cameras you can suggest? how reliable and shock resistant are these cameras? I saw some demo videos and it they sometimes seem to drop the frame rate, but I don't know which settings they used for recording. Thank you for some feedback!

130° 720p or more IP camera
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
i did the testing yesterday and the smaller angle is sufficient, but it's pretty close. i tested it with a HIKVISION DS-2CD2532-I(S)(W) with a 2.8mm lens. i could not find detailed information about the horizontal, since every camera from HIKVISION seems to have a different viewing angle with 2.8mm lens. any idea what angle i get wit the DS-2CD2532-I(S)(W) and the 2.8mm lens? my final solution will probably be a DS-2CD2732F-I(S), wich features a varifocal lens and also external audio input. I also came across one error on the HIKVISION homepage. in the specification they say, that the camera reaches up to 105° angle, but in the datasheet it says 98°. thats a little weird. -
HIKVISION + external audio
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
ok so theoretically I could use the two audio cables and install a 3,5mm jack and a microphone on it. i tried a camera with built-in microphone, but since it's used outdoors, i get a lot of wind noise... i will just use an external mic and put a cover on it, which hopefully works fine then -
130° 720p or more IP camera
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. thank you for the reply. the picture quality of the sony camera looks fine and the barrel distortion is fine for me. as you said, every camera with this sort of lense will have some distortion. for testing purposes i get a HIKVISION camera and will try, if it can capture the whole scene with only around 100°. maybe i'm lucky -
130° 720p or more IP camera
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
it can be a bit less than 130 degrees, but not under 115. With the E93, ACTi has a product with ultra wide angle, but there is no mic installed. The same goes for the AXIS camera. 118 degree, but no mic. I don't know if it is possible to upgrade the cameras, so I can record audio as well. Can anyone tell me a similar SONY cam, that uses the same technology, so I can get a feeling for the video quality? There are no videos available for the CX600. -

what about the Sony SNC-CX600? Would this camera be ok for my needs? I cannot find any demo video of it... -
130° 720p or more IP camera
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry, but gopro is not an option. What about the axis and acti camera? Which one would you recommend? Any other camera with such a wide angle that you know of? Another question: do i only reach the 130 degrees with the highest resolution or also with lower res? -
130° 720p or more IP camera
Shinobi replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
because i don't get a live picture from a gopro into my pc that easily. an IP camera is perfect, because I only need one cable. the cameras are about 50m away from me. i read a lot of good things about hikvision. do they have such a wide angle camera?
