Does anyone have any comments about those cameras: Sanyo VSS-6584, ARM C550, and Samsung SCC131B. Do they have Mechanical IR cut filter?

I did test 2 DVRs (EB1304NET), and there are 2 things that I did not like about: 1. Remote view did not give you clear picture as you see locally. Pictures displayed at low resolution, even though I set a view resolution at best. 2. They don’t have separate setting for live remote view and recording resolution. If I set recording rate at 10fps, when I remote view live on LAN, I only get maximum display at 10fps. If I bring up recording rate at 30fps, I can get remote view at 29fps.

Costco and Sam Club offer a decent kit that can do the job.

How important is FPS ?

I just called Avermedia people, and they said that EB1304NET can do Full-plex. So, I ordered a demo unit to test. How quality and stable of NV5000 compare to GV-650? One of an advantage of Avermedia is you can stack more than one card in one system. -

As you said you sell Avermedia system, what are quality on those: ESS1104NET and EB1304NET compare to buying system and put in a GV-650? Thanks. -
we use the same butt splice connectors made by 3m, but we prefer putting all connections inside gasketed j-boxes. the seal tape looks like an easy solution but in practice it doesn't last and usually turns into a gooey, sticky mess.. With “RJ45 8-PIN MODULAR INLINE COUPLER STRAIGHT-THRUâ€

Do you think "RJ45 8-PIN MODULAR INLINE COUPLER STRAIGHT-THRU" will be more appropriate? I find it in "Cablestogo"

For distance of 3000ft, we have to use UTP active transceiver baluns at both 2 ends. However, spool of Cat5 or cat6 come in with 1,000ft/spool. How do we connect those spools together to make 3,000ft?

We install few systems before this job, and most of them are residential, small business, and warehouse. This is our first one in Factory. We are the only local guy do CCTV in this area (South East Asia) We don’t worry much about building regulations since this is private factory, and there are no rules yet in this type of business down here. We will get a waterproof, heater/blower, and wiper housing for those cameras in humidity area. All indoor cables will be placed in existing metal conduits and up on ceiling. Outdoor cables (Cat5e or Cat6) from facilities to control room (2,000ft-3,000ft) are things that I worry about. Cost will rise up if we run conduits with that distance. Do we have any type of cable that I can leave out of the sun? I will make sure to have clean power for those cameras. Since DVR server will be in Server Room, they already have UPS for all equipments. This facilities is operated 24/7, so there are light on most of time. Light is not an issue. I need those cameras that can last for 3-5 years. Thanks for your advices.

We have a job coming up to design and implement 32-camera system in Paper Mill Factory. Few places in the factory will be high humidity because of steams that come out from boiled water in paper machines. All cables need to be home run to the control room which is 2,000ft-3,000ft away. Below is the list that we come up with. Please advices if any: 1. DVR: we will use GV-1480 in Dell Server (PowerEdge 840, Dual Core 2.8Ghz, 2GB of RAM, integrated Video Card, 2x500GB SATA). We need to have 2 systems to accommodate 32 cameras due to the limitation (16 cameras/system) of Geovision. 2. Camera: need decent box cameras (need brand and model?) that can go to the housing, few housings will have heater and blower. 3. Lens: because of box cameras, I need lens to go with box cameras. Lens will be auto iris, and focal length adjustable (3mm-12mm). Need brand and model of lens? 4. Cable: cat6 or cat5e (whatever can go outdoor?). We have to use some active balun due to the distances. We think about NVT, but those are high. Any substitute products with reasonable price and quality? 5. Spool of Cat5 or cat6 is 1,000ft. How do we connect those spools together to make 3,000ft? Thanks.

This is a 1 year old legit card. I did uninstall Geo software, delete GV-800, even uninstall OS, but it did not resolve anything. I use only 1 partition, and all my video log and data locate on the same partition. I try to upgrade to v8.1, and I still get the same problem when I upgraded to v8.02 Thanks for reply.

I install GV-800 card with version 8.0 software into my PC (Dell Optiplex 210L: 2.4 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 160 GB Hard drive, Window XP Home), and the Geovision software was installed in system folder (C:\GV800). The system runs normally, but the software (Geovision GV-800 System) silently turned off every 12-18 hrs without any error messages or warnings, so I have to manually restart the software daily. Another problem is when I upgraded from version 8.0 to 8.02, all my cameras were blacked out and following with a “video lostâ€
