I've built a Z-wave PIR as an experiment... The VeraLite runs a scene that sends an external trigger to Blue Iris, to trigger motion recording on a group of cameras covering the front of my house. I chose the RAB PIR because unlike most of these lighting PIRs, the RAB can be set to detect motion during daylight hours.

If you have a Vera home automation controller you can do what I did. Add a MimoLite by Fortrezz (http://fortrezz.com/index.php/products/mimolite) to your Z-Wave network, install a wired magnetic sensor on the garage door, and connect the MimoLite to the magnetic sensor and the garage door opener's button. Install the Vera garage door app, and it lets you see whether the door is open or closed, and remotely open or close the door. Then you can set up any sort of notification or automated actions you want.

I have cameras running 5.1.2 and 5.1.6. Each are running with a davinci.tar.gz from the appropriate version that has been patched. I can confirm that the Test buttons do not exist in 5.1.2. I would not recommend using the 5.1.2 davinci.tar.gz on your 5.1.6 camera. There is no telling what issues it might cause.

You might try loading firmware via TFTP. I've never done a Hikvision camera, so I can't say for sure whether or not it will reset the camera to factory settings, but it doesn't sound like you have much to lose.
