Hello community! I've been lurking on the forums and trying to learn what I can about cameras, but this stuff is too sophisticated for me to understand on my own! So I'm going to ask and hope some of you have helpful advice on what I should end up purchasing.
I'm moving into a new apartment in a major metropolis shortly and have a bunch of computer gear for school that I value greatly. I'm just a poor student so I don't have the money on hand to replace my macbook air, monitors, and TV -I would feel peace of mind knowing that my room is being protected by a camera system. Let me detail for you what I'm looking for:
Budget: $500-600, but I am flexible
What the system needs to do:
-stream online so I could check out what's going on on my iPhone
-store weeks of data on one of those box modules
-nighttime viewing
-motion detecting
-doesn't have to be HD quality but should be pretty good quality
-1 to 2 cameras
[The apartment will have wi-fi, but will likely also have ethernet ports]
Any ideas what I should be searching for? A brand recommendation or a product recommendation would be stellar, if the forum rules permit. I have no idea where to start, these brands on the internet I have never heard of!
