    new camera and chop sticks

In response to: What kind of problem are you having, also what is the camera, cable, and voltage type? This is a message from the prior thread. Problem: Buzzing/humming sound from the DVR when I connect the BNCs to the DVR. Camera type, cable and voltage are listed in the prior message.

    new camera and chop sticks

This is a new camera installation. Everything is new. I did put the cable cord from the camera to the house (4 feet) through flex conduit to keep the cable cord and 24V power safe from the elements, but I used the flex that has metal coil and weatherpoofing material. Maybe the metal in the flex is causing the problem?

    Buzzing Sound from DVR

Hi, I'm installing a security system for my house. I'm using the Everfocus EDSR600 as the DVR. The cameras I am using consist of 2.8-12mm auto iris varifocal lens attached to a Sony Super HAD 540TVL Box Style with .002 LUX. I used a combo zip cable to power the cameras from a 24V transformer and to run the BNC connector/cable to the DRV. I have made the ends for the BNC connectors . . . maybe the problem? Don't know. What I do know is that I am able to have a picture of my security area through the cameras showing on the main monitor. However, immediately after I plug in the BNC connector in the back of the DVR and the picture image is generated, the DVR gives off a bad buzzing or humming noise. I call it feedback. It's so annoying it gives me a queezy feeling in the stomach. The strange part of this buzzing is that is only occurs when I connect the cameras. I've tried connecting only one camera. I've tried connecting two cameras. I have buzzing with both situations. I thought it might be the installation of the transformer of the cameras....but I have tried plugging the transformer into a different circuit in the house and I still get the buzzing when I connect the cameras. Another strange thing this is that the buzzing doesn't stop when I disconnect the BNC connectors. The image disappears from the main monitor as to be expected, but the noise continues. The noise doesn't go away until I re-boot or re-start the DVR. My question . . . does anyone have experience with this kind of troubleshooting? Can it be attributed to poorly assembled BNC ends? I doubt this is the the problem considering I get a pretty clear picture. However, I do have feedback presumably caused by connecting the BNC ends to the DVR.
