  1. I tested one last night. They do indeed have a inbuilt mic. A nice feature i was not aware of. I read your other post about poor mic performance. One thing i noticed, through the web interface i found the sound performance really low/disappointing. Through BI it was far better range/clearer. It may have been my browser plugin or settings but worth checking.
  2. Thanks. I didn't realize they had a built in mic.
  3. nice photo. can you tell me where you ordered your english version, i need 2 more. it would be interesting to see a photo when its dark at night, i.e. 2am to check out the ir. how did you hook the audio up?
  4. Thanks. I wish i had known that before, the DHL delivery would have been nice. I also ordered the 2532. Ive just paid $157 from E&M and $185 from Huaben both are using china post
  5. Where do you find the Chinese firmwares?. I cant find the server. I have a Chinese camera i want to update. The firmwares from the US and European servers just give me the below error:
  6. The issue for us is the language. Its Chinese, there is no English drop down menu.
  7. I'd just like to avoid the sellers who wont reply as per the OP. Things sometimes go wrong and we all accept that, its finding the sellers who will be reasonable/do the right thing if there is a genuine problem. Ive gone ahead and placed the same order with store 'E&M' and store 'Huaben' Both full English versions. Will see how many days each takes to arrive. If anyone can recommend any other Aliexpress sellers I would appreciate the info.
  8. Jeremy I am thinking of ordering a camera from the seller you recommended. Have you had any reason to raise a aftersales query/return a camera?. It seems after sales is where it falls apart with these sellers as per the OP. Thanks
  9. I personally always like to have the latest firmware and Bios updates. Theyre released for a reason.
  10. Can anyone recommend a Android/iOS multi IP camera viewer?. Something that supports all manufactures like Blueiris but just a viewer version. I have tried 1. The top 3 free apps listed on google play but they don't support my Hikvision cameras. 2. BlueIris for Andriod/iOS - from what i can tell it isn't a stand alone app. It requires BI running on a windows PC at all times.
  11. I understand where you're coming from but I am not sure its worth the hassle and i can't think the results will be very good. You're better off selling the 2032 and buying a camera more designed for this function imo.
  12. You're right. Thank you. I will give this a try.
  13. Just placed the order with E&M. I will report back. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wholesale-hikvision-3MP-IP66-Network-Mini-Dome-Camera-CCTV-IP-Out-door-camera-DS-2CD2532F-IS/1637640662.html
  14. Do the Chinese Hikvision cameras not support firmware updates then?. Why would this be? I also noticed this mentioned in a description on aliexpress: --------------------------------- DS-2CD2532F-IWS 1, for this camera at this price US$168, its firmware is only with V5.1.0, there is no updated firmware in the future. pleas note that. 2, if you need the updated firmware in the future, we have camera in English versin, it can be upgraded firmware if you need, but its price is US$206.8, it's original Hikvision with English version. ----------------------------------
  15. I think going through your credit card company is the only way to deal with Aliexpress issues. From what i'm aware Aliexpress policy is the buyer pays the return shipping even on DOA. Can anyone recommend a good Ali express seller?. I need a DS-2CD2532-IS.
  16. I have not installed them yet - maybe in a week or two when I get to the actual site for the final setup. Right now I'm semi-obsessing about what to do with the power pigtail that is not used if the cam is running on POE. Thinking that for the sake of neatness maybe just clip it off, make sure one wire isn't touching the other, seal it with some silicon goop and maybe wrap with mastic for good measure. I just tape mine up to the POE cable with electrical tape. Not worth cutting it imo.
  17. I am aware of switch versus router, also there is routerboard switch with poe (but not 802.3af also ). The reason I am favouring rb750up is as I mentioned usb port. I can plug 3g usb stick in it and get 3G access to ip cameras at location. It is gonna be remote location and there is no "ground" internet access yet, so 3G is one of internet options. Other is 5ghz wifi link (5 mile distance from me to this "offline" remote location). Additionally, you can always use router as switch, but cannot use switch as router 8-30V is confusing to me too. They sell routerboard with 24V 2.5A power adapter, and claim it outputs 0.5A on each port max, so that would translate to 12W @ 24V. But on the other hand, according to 802.3af, max power should be 350mA @ 48V aka 15.4W per port. Two switches I mentioned use 48V 1.25A power adapter IIRC. I thought it only needed to output at least 10W on port and it could magically power anything But if 48V is a must as standard says for PoE cameras, then its clear as a day I can forget about powering anything with this routerboard. What can it power then? Other routerboards and stuff that is not 802.3af compatible?? 2 cameras dont need much but ive got a feeling youre right and that routerboard can't power very much. It would be intesting to know. I would email routerboard directly and ask the question.
  18. old - thank you for posting your experience and the great video examples. It is very helpful to the rest of us choosing camera lenses and positions. It will be interesting to see the 4mm in its place and the difference.
  19. That doesn't sound good. That has always been my worry with dome cameras. Is it bad. Can you post pictures?. - I am looking for a genuine/reliable seller for this camera, (English version ideally). If anyone has used a Alibaba/Aliexpress seller for this camera can you tell me their name. Thanks
  20. 1. I am seeing different model numbers on websites. Are there 3 versions of this camera? DS-2CD2532F-I DS-2CD2532F-IS DS-2CD2532F-IW I only see the first on Hikvisions website.
