so from what i could tell with the samsung nvr is there is a little taking apart to install a next hard drive...i'm thinking about a 4tb hard drive should be more than sufficient but i'm having difficulty finding it online...even on samsung's website is there a difference between hdd for a computer and one for a nvr? could u just point me to a website that has them for sale? thanks again

ok cool i'll try that

well the installation could happen after i save some money...i just want to purchase it now while i can what i meant was what is a good brand nvr to go with...which brand would you recommend? doesn't have to be the best of the best but one that will get the job done...lets say around $1,500 or do recommend going with the samsung nvr? https://www.samsung-security.com/products/Security-Network-Systems/NetworkVideoRecorders/16-Channel-Network-Video-Recorders/SRN-1670D.aspx what are the main features i would want when picking an nvr? Thanks so much again

ok great so i have to get a nvr...which one would you recommend based on what i'm looking for? there seem to be hundreds of them and the 16 channel samsung is US1900. Can i use a different nvr brand to the camera brand?
-
why would you recommend going with the nvr over the dvr? i thought the dvr was easier to work with and better to use over the nvr...also isnt the main reason for going with the nvr is to view the cameras off site and to have it hooked up via the internet? i thought that was the main difference

any other dvr you would recommend? also with dvr's can i hook it up to show on about three tvs at the same time?

ok cool thanks for the help... i'll post up what combination i'm looking at to hear yall opinion...thanks!

ok cool thanks is it possible to mix and match say two different cameras but of the same brand and connect them both to the same dvr? like say....buy two different Samsung cameras and connect it to a samsung dvr? reason why i ask is some areas around the house only requires close night vision whereby some areas it is a very far distance....so i'm thinking cheaper camera for close distances and excellent expensive cameras for the longer distances....of course lighting will be great for both applications...my budget would have to be higher to do this but is it possible?

thanks very much for all the info...i don't really want to get an analog camera as i'm not too pleased with the picture quality...this is the exact one i was looking at http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SDS-P5100N-Channel-Security-Cameras/dp/B00CTUU0E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395438545&sr=8-1&keywords=Samsung+SDS-P5100N+16+Channel+DVR+Security+System+2+TB+HDD+10+Box+Cameras it says it is hd...if i were to say budget about US$1,500 for an hd or if possible a megapixel camera set with 6 cameras and a dvr with all weather proof night vision etc.....what would you recommend? Thanks
