I am thinking the small lights that are attached to the board not so much the IR lights that surround the camera lens area.

NVR DS-7716NI-SP / 16 w/ FW V3.4.21 build 160630 Cameras 2CD2732F-IS half of them are running firmware V5.1.2 build 140116 and the other half V5.2.5 build 141201 I could swear a few years ago when I installed the system there was an easy way to turn off the red light on the camera. I have searched and am unable to locate the option any longer. I am sure its right in front of me but I am not seeing it. Anyone familiar with this NVR or these cameras available to guide me to disabling the light?

Good morning, I need to wire in a MIC. The MFG suggest a Louroe mic which I bought but its a lot larger than I thought. The Louroe I have a feeling is overkill for what I need. The camera is powered by POE and there is no other power available at the site. I believe I need a MIC level microphone. I am stuck not certain what to buy next or how to wire it. On the camera I see; Rin / min + Line out r Line out l Alarm in Alarm grnd Alarm out Mic grnd Line mic - Line grnd Alarm out grnd Can someone please make product recommendation and point me in the right direction to wire it in. The application will be in the ceiling of a baby's room.

HIKvision or Dahua ??
-
Thanks I have a place in MD just outside of Baltimore, I know Hagerstown I found this model and like it as well http://www.securitycameraking.com/16-channel-elite-compact-series-59505-prd1.html I went searching for the Dahua brand and came across the above site. Is it normal for a company to say THEY are the MFG but in small print their boards are from Dahua?

Viewing On Mobile Phone - Hikvision
Sumerian replied to pbar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I wish I had an answer for you but I will give you a free bump. I am looking at an NVR and HIKvision jumped out at me. I hope you dont mind if I ask you a few questions. How happy are you with the hardware? Who's cameras are you running? Where did you buy it? -
Is there somewhere else I should be posting on this site a question like this? Kind of shocked I didn't get a few peoples favorite hardware suggestions.

I am starting from scratch, the wiring is all in place. I am going to deploy 6-7 dome IP cameras around the area. What are a few highly recommended DVR/ NVR models to use? The cameras will need power. I want to be able to access everything from near any device PC, iPhone, Tablets. I assume it is an NVR tht I am looking at right? Anything I am missing? Is it likely the NVR will provide all the power and have enough ports or will I need a switch and some kind of power injectors plus an NVR. Again thanks, please link me to some nicer hardware. Rackmount would be great. SuM
