Any suggestions on a decent 24VAC power supply for under $100 that will provide a few amps of power for multiple cameras and heated/ventilated enclosures? Right now I am just using an unregulated transformer and I think the poor and variable quality power might be negatively affecting the cameras connected to it... they consistently seem to have a lot of problems compared to a couple other cameras on another PS so I want to replace that before anything else.

I got some Ultrak KC552BCN cameras. They are labelled 24VAC 60Hz... is there any way 12VDC can be used to power them? I know many cameras are labelled for either. My 24VAC power supply is a weak point and it would be a lot easier/cheaper to find a decent 12VDC power source than 24VAC.

Anyone have any recommendation on these? Is there a PC remote control designed for CCTV DVR use or am I stuck using something designed for a HTPC? I am replacing a Clover DVR and the one good thing about it is that the remote has buttons for various split screen layouts (2x2 groups 1/2/3, 3x3 groups 1/2, etc) and buttons 1-16 for individual cameras as well.

This is disappointing. The avermedia site does not even mention the lack of 64-bit support anywhere that I found (though I notice some of the resellers mention it isn't supported... guess they got tired of returns). The drivers don't even check the version and just install anyway on a 64-bit machine... they just don't work. Hopefully they will come to their senses and figure out 64-bit drivers. It is just going to become more and more of an issue as time goes on.

Any ideas where I might be able to find the specifications or a manual for Ultrak KC552BCN cameras? Honeywell apparently bought them a few years back and decided to take down their site without actually putting any of that information anywhere.

I have one of these: Ultrak KZ1628AEHW 20A 16 camera power supply. I got it without noticing it was 28VAC, not 24VAC. Can I run 24VAC cameras on this or will the overvoltage kill them? I have never seen a 28VAC camera.

I haven't figured out how to get the FPS in the full client yet (anyone know?), but I'd say I am getting in the low single digits for FPS. I have two signals connected to an AV-5000 with a daughter board (for 8 total connections available). This is a 120fps board. I'm not doing recording at the moment. The system is: Athlon64 3000+ nVidia nForce4 Chipset 2GB RAM nVidia GeForce 4Ti Video Card Windows XP Professional (32 bit) Any idea on things to check? Hyperthreading should be a non-issue because it doesn't support it and from what I've seen nVidia is supposed to work OK for these DVR boards. One thing I'm not clear on... if I have 8 inputs and no video signal on 6 of them, should I be able to (theoretically) get 60fps on both of the signals, or am I limited to 15fps? Either way, I'm not getting anywhere near that. I've totally impressed with the software so far... it was definitely worth giving up on my $10 ebay board with software and drivers that didn't work and dishing out the dough for a real board with real software... assuming I can get the performance to an acceptable level, anyway.

I have a couple cameras that only have mounting holes on the top, but nothing on the bottom. This means I have to mount them upside down in an enclosure. This results in upside down video. 1) Does anybody make a bracket that adds a mounting hole to the bottom? I suppose I could fabricate a couple of those myself if I had to, but that involve some work. 2) Is there a simple device that will flip a video signal 180 degrees? 3) Does anyone know if the Avermedia software can do it? (not ideal as I also plan to run the signal into a sequencer for live display and it would still be upside down on there).
