    cpcam vs. avc

CPCam "is" AVT... WHOIS information for: cpcamcctv.com: [whois.enom.com] =-=-=-= Visit AboutUs.org for more information about cpcamcctv.com AboutUs: cpcamcctv.com Registration Service Provided By: TaipeiNIC.net Contact: domain@taipeinic.net Visit: http://www.taipeinic.net Domain name: cpcamcctv.com Registrant Contact: AV TECH SILVIA CHUECH 10F,E Building, No. 19-11 San Chung Rd., Nankang,Taipei, 115 Taipei, 115 TW Administrative Contact: AV TECH SILVIA CHUECH (kugai.hsu@avtech.com.tw) 26553866 Fax: 26553855 10F,E Building, No. 19-11 San Chung Rd., Nankang,Taipei, 115 Taipei, 115 TW Technical Contact: Taiwan Domain Name Service Center-TaiwanDNS TSAI HSIN HSIU (service@taiwandns.com) +886.62809156 Fax: +886.62809813 1Fl., No. 12, Lane 225, Shianbei St.,Bei Chiu Tainan City, 704 TW Status: Locked Name Servers: dns1.name-services.com dns2.name-services.com dns3.name-services.com dns4.name-services.com dns5.name-services.com The CPC product is what AVT sell to installers and end users and also what they use as an excuse to bypass distribution agreements. To be honest there is much better hardware out there... even at the same or better price points. e.g. the manufacturer that Q-See uses for their DVR kits is very good for the low end dvr's (like AVT's new lower cost DVR... forget model no) Avermedia's 1304NET is a worthy competitor to the 760 and AVT can't compete at any higher levels as they are lagging behind in R&D as noted in my signature.

    Dynacolor DS200 Password Reset

That would be great if you could email the username / password to me... You're a lifesaver if you can get me into this thing! I was worried about how the customer was going to react about having to replace the DVR / NAS if I couldn't reset the password... the guy who sold them this thing upsold everything to them, they have the DG216T with the turbo module and the pos module linked up to the access control system, they even have two 19" rack mount monitors connected to it... I can only imagine the response I would receive if I suggested replacing it.

    Dynacolor DS200 Password Reset

I wasn't able to connect to the unit via the DB9 connector on the rear of the unit with a null modem cable... perhaps that connector is for something else. I notice inside the unit on the motherboard there is another connector (a fairly fine pitched IDC type connector) that is labelled console, however, I have no idea what the pinouts of this connector would be. Also there is an smd tactile switch inside the unit that I also do not know what it is for... when I push it the unit just beeps and continues on as usual. The unit was purchased by a previous installer who is now out of business... I do not know who the Dynacolor distributor is here. I know that the username and password I have written down is/was correct prior to this problem as I have a script that previously logged in to the unit via FTP that was working until approximately 3 weeks ago... the username and password are written in this script in plain text so there is no way I have the wrong password. Also if you try to log in to the unit via telnet and input a non existant username / password or even the default username and password (admin / 1234) the unit responds with a username/password invalid message whereas with the previously correct username/password the unit responds with "No valid shadow password" as soon as you enter the username. If anyone could help with this I would much appreciate it, otherwise this unit (and probably the DVR) is going to have to be replaced and live out the rest of its life in my junk pile.

    Dynacolor DS200 Password Reset

I'm not having much luck resetting the password on this unit... my customer needs to access the data on the unit due to an OH&S / workcover issue but I can't for the life of me get into this stupid thing. Does anyone have any ideas? Any Dynacolor distributors in these forums that might be able to help me out?

    Dynacolor DS200 Password Reset

Going to try to attack it with a console cable on the weekend... hopefully the console port isn't password protected.
  6. Not really... Its actually a lot of components, I have compared the two boards side by side thinking that 25% price difference was too much for a remote control and a handful of components. AVC760/761/783 share the same firmware so you won't need to bother about this part. Trust me, it will be easier and cheaper to do it this way.

    Alarm via Email and FTP

Hmm... these features both work for me. Does the FTP user you have setup for the DVR have both write and modify privelages on the FTP? Also what firmware version are you running? (Can be seen through the network AP)
  8. AVC760 firmware is the same as AVC761 firmware.
  9. You're missing a lot of firmware and a couple of the reset instructions... you have most of the manuals though. When I have some spare time I'll upload what I have to my ftp and let you have a browse.

    Any AVTech demos available?

I hate to tell you but it doesn't work the way you think... if you open the menu on the DVR via the AP the menu still shows on the DVR screen. All it does is streams each channel video feed independantly.
  11. Which manuals are you after? I've got a full set floating around here somewhere... plus firmware and other assorted goodies that were pillaged from AVT's FTP.

    AVTech DVR 777

One of my customers has confirmed that videolan client can view the files off these, however, I have not tried myself and you would only be able to view the files after mounting the HDD. Video Lan Client can be downloaded free here: http://www.videolan.org/

  17. The firmware update I posted here has the italian language files in it:- http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=8896 You just need to rename the appropriate LANGU6_?.GZ to LANGU6.GZ and update the firmware. Unfortunately I don't know which LANGU6 file relates to italian as all the extentions are in chinese.

    AVC760 OSD language problem

Scorpion: Feel free to take the firmware and pdf files I posted and put them on your website, just please host them on your own space and not link to them as we occasionally clean up those files.

    AVC760 OSD language problem

Heres the latest version of the firmware I have with the language files included... http://www.electusdistribution.com.au/images_uploaded/AVC7601_AV083_2020K8.rar I'm pretty sure english is included in all firmwares though, I have never seen one without it... even the additional language files seem to only mention languages other than english.

    AVC760 OSD language problem

Hmm ok, let me see if I've got a full / more complete firmware upgrade floating around somewhere.

    AVC760 OSD language problem

The language files are in the firmware but not all firmware updates update all parts of the firmware. You should be able to change the OSD language to english if you follow the menu tree:- http://www.electusdistribution.com.au/images_uploaded/AVC760MenuTree.pdf Basically go to the menu and select the bottom option, then select the bottom option again, then adjust the third last option which should be the language setting. I have received quite a few samples that were left set to the local language (Traditional Chinese) by the engineers, its pretty easy to change if you know what you're looking for.

    DOA DVR?

Did you use the keyswitch to lock the HDD in? The HDD won't work unless you lock it in.
