Connect Failed error trying to access surv. remotely
Roman.CA replied to 112victory's topic in Security Cameras
Since you get to login screen it not the firewall or settings, most likely account you trying to log in with does not have remote access enabled. Whats the make and model of DVR? -
You can use any cameras with this unit based on specs of the DVR and your needs. Find out max frames per second and resolution of this DVR can record and buy according cameras. Have pic of what connection on your current CCTV cameras looks like?

I mean can you tell me what steps you need to do to make it work or what is model of DVR you use?

Did you install all supporting software? What browser you are using?

It helps more to have schematic view of the house from the top. and what is the lens field of view and resolution? Perhaps this could work, considering you put car outside of garage. Blue camera should be at the wall of house between window and door if column not obstructing parking view a lot.

P2P (perr-to-peer) in DVR name sound like just coined marketing phrase. Whats the model of DVR and how exactly you set it up to use P2P and how you connect to it?

Sometimes same thing happens during computer firmware updates sometimes so try calling computer repair shops in your area and ask if they can flash firmware to a chip directly.

Too many questions you need to pay an expert or break them up in smaller questions with more information provided for reach. One thing i learned asking questions on forums is: the more work you do /more info you provide when asking the question the less work responder needs to do to give you an answer, giving greater chance to get a response. Routers don't affect signal speed or quality, but you might want to reboot router. Paying 3rd party VPN host to improve speed in most cases is overkill. Are cameras set up on WiFi or wired? What is the internet connection speed try doing speedtest.net ? Did you try to see videos stream over internet or local area network?

Most companies have apps created for each particular system e.g. mac/android etc, i used Q-See DVR with FireFox browser with no problem, not sure if it used flash plugin or some other install, but was NOT active-x for sure. Try reading this https://www.q-see.com/files/HowToFiles/C-Mac%20OS%20Remote%20Monitoring%20Setup.pdf P.S. I am in no way saying to go for Q-SEE as quality they offer is pretty low-average.

Cant you just see it yourself like connect one camera to DVR start recording and go outside. You should have idea where you want camera to be installed so just go there and hold camera in your hand standing by the wall pointing at desired location for few seconds. Then go home and see the recording, save 1 frame (or make screenshot if you connected from your computer). Then do same thing for remaining cameras. Then just look trough images and see if you have any dead spots. You might want to throw 2 cameras instead of one in some places to cover more area.
