  1. I guess this depends on the dvr model you have and its specification. With mine, I can set the recording rate individually for manual record mode and motion detect mode. I set both manual record mode and motion detect mode. With manual record mode...I set to the lowest frame rate but with motion detect I set to the maximum frame rate. So when I view the video including the pre-alarm recording...the pre-alarm recording shows the low frame-rate but then when actual event comes, the the frame rate increases to the maximux set. But I switched off manual record mode since it is such a hassle to sip through all the uninteresting recording whereas motion detect shows you exactly what you need. It also has the pre-alarm recording meaning it is always recording into memory all the time and only records to disk when the event happens including about 1 minute of video before the motion detect is triggered. The post detection after all motion has stopped is maximu set to 40 secs. I have the avtech761.

    AV 760 Licensed AP software

I have a avtech761. Mine came with the ap s/w disk but you can also download the latest ap software for free from avtech ftp. Connect via browser to your avtech and it would show you a login screen. Then there is a button there that says download AP. But the program would only ftp or email you the image when there is an alarm or event. I have personally tried the email and it works but not the ftp. So maybe if you set manual recording 24/7 then it would upload the images regularly but I'm not sure asI haven't done it yet.
  3. I recently purchased this avtech avc761 from Ebay. Quite good for my needs and you can connect remotely with their ap s/w. However, when I want to connect to the box using the browser instead of their ap s/w, I get the following error: "The requested URL was not found on this server" Is there anyone here who can point me to a link where I could download the f/w? Thanks in advance!
