Resetting password on Dahua 8ch DVR
secplus replied to bass1175's topic in General Digital Discussion
I don't know of a way to "reset" the password, but try these: 888888 666666 default same user/pass combo. I believe the "default" username is not removable, and only "888888" is an admin account, the rest are user. Let me know if this helped you. -
is a older 9ch DVR from siemens, it's completely useless and obsolete. 120fps over 9ch and mpeg4, maybe someone will give you $50 US for it..

Help me out having a brainfart...
secplus replied to secplus's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
You are crazy, LOL, but thanks!!! it was another brand that I was looking for but this will probably work for me. -
There is a sequence of buttons that you hit using the remote, I really can't recall what it is, but you got it have it handy when calling then, without it you can't do anything...but yeah, their tech support is pretty good at picking up the phone.

I am trying to identify my DVR to find the manual

I received one of the new DAHUA CVI systems from my distributor. I used Camera model DH-IBV-772W, Varifocal 2.8-12mm lens, 720P 42IR LED. DVR is the 8CH economical version. What I did was take screenshots of live and recorded video, I zoomed on some of them to show the digital zoom quality, and moved it around to try and get a better night pic. if you look, the screenshots are at different times of the day and where taken in a 18 hour span. Any questions or suggestions? BTW, camera is basically hanging out a window, is not mounted. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- As you can see, the system does work pretty well, only night time was a bit off, but I think it had to do with the IR reflecting back from the Dish Pole..

I do have a IP system ready to go on this one, but we decided to use CVI just to test it out and see how it performs.

hello eddie and welcome to the site

My distributor sent out the email two days ago, and as it happened, I'm wiring a new house for the developmednt company I am contracted by and I decided to go IP for this house (is a 1.3 Million house), but after we saw the email (and the price!) we decided to go this route, the only issue I have is that I have already ran CAT6 all over the house and the house is now sealed and Sheetrock. So we are going to use video balums and "cross" our fingers..

Ok, explain to me why this extremely expensive system doesn't allow me to manage the settings like camera color, and other configurations remotely? I have tried to find any settings VIA the browser app, or dmmviewer. I went to the Geovision website and found something called Control Center, that has a program called REMOTE DVR, but when I try to open it, it basically tells me that I have to BUY this software? Come on, other than using some sort of remote desktop solution, there must me another way, I am too far from this system to keep driving back and forth..

Just upgrade to a hybrid DVR and you should be fine.

Yes, cut off the butt connector, split the wires, and plug them it, it's all the same just different ways to attach power to the camera.

Yet another newb asking about cheaper brands!

Look, spend a little more money and get yourself a dahua system, you can get the 4 HD-SDI cameras, 2MP, and a 4CH NVR recorder for around 1K, use siamese wire and connectors, which will run you about $100, and another $30 for a decent crimper. This would be a much better solution for you, specially using the siamese wire, because most of the cables that come with the pre-packaged kits out there are junk and you will run into problems down the road. -
Come on, this is not Facebook. Be professional.

I have installed a large number of these Speco TL series back in 07-09. You have multiple problems: Cameras: these cameras are only 580TVL, top of the line back then, obsolete now. DVR: Mpeg4 DVR, very old technology. CIF only recording, which translates to the DVR recording half the camera's resolution Small HD, and is IDE only, so no proper upgrade is avaliable. Remote Viewing is VERY VERY slow.. You have options, but you must be realistic on budget. If you are looking to spend no more than 1K, there's a Dahua 720p 8CH complete system with cameras that uses your existing wirring, and the difference is night and day.

Geovision and 7-11 Registers for POS capture
secplus posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
So, I got the GV-1480 working properly for my customer. After calling Geovision and confirming that the card was legitimate, I upgraded the software to the latest release 8.5.9. He has multiple locations and we are talking about putting POS data capture boxes for his systems. My question is, has anyone done this with 7-11 registers? the units are NCR 7402, and they run a P.O.S. Program made for 7-11. The receipt printer is connected VIA usb. Any help is appreciated. -
Geovision and 7-11 Registers for POS capture
secplus replied to secplus's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
From what I understand, the problem lies in the software itself, there is no way to do any type of technical maintenance or configuration without 7-11 technicians be involved, because the software is completely locked down. And 7-11 does not like anyone touching the systems because they own the POS. I know the printer has a serial connection, I will look at the main unit tomorrow and let you know. -
I have a customer that has a geovision 1480 with analog cameras. he wants to put the geovision fisheye ip camera. When I looked thru the softwrae I saw a dongle icon, I clicked it and a menu opened up that said ports authoized: GV-IP Camera: 32 3rd-party Ip camera: 0 So I'm assuming that it will work? also the android remote app really sucks btw, the image quality and the lack of funcion really kills this system

We are thinking of moving out of the northeast to florida, area of vero beach 45min north of west palm beach. How's the industry down there? My main focus is alarms and surveillance. Plus if someone could point me in the direction of the state requirements to obtain licensing would be appreciated.

that's what I used, it had to be done in a hurry and my distributor was out of 1200 at the time.

Hello guys. I have a customer at a liquor store that's interested in some sort of lock for his front door that he can lock with the push of a button to prevent theft. Basically when he's behind the counter it has happened to him that someone will come in and grab merchandise and try to run out the store with it, and since he's behind the counter sometimes he's not quick enough to grab the person. I was thinking of putting a Roslare 1200lbs MAG lock, but I tried a 600lbs at another store and the problem was that with enough force, the door pops open. I have attached a couple of PICS of the door to see if anyone can at least guide me correctly. Door Stirke is not an option because of the type of locking mechanism this door uses. Yes I know I have to move the front door alarm sensor Thanks.

The rosslare LK-M06L worked perfectly!! Only issue I had was that the plate over the door had to be a bit loose for the magnet to pick it up, so I remedied that issue with a couple of washers. here's the link for this unit: http://www.rosslaresecurity.com/products/lk-m06l-maglock/
