Struggling with remote access to my CCTV system

The diagram is extremely helpful. Can I just check a few things with real numbers. My DVR ports (which I put in based on the user manual instructions as they were blank) are as follows Media port - 5001 HTTP port - 5000 Mobile monitor port - 5002 The local IP address of my DVR is 192.168.0.123 My public IP address is 90.218.110.80 I have accessed the router settings and for inbound services only (in firewall settings) I have forwarded ports 5000 to 5002 to the DVT local IP address 192.168.0.123. I have then used an app and have put in the public ip address 90.218.110.80. There is a port option which I have put as 5002. I have also tried 5000 and 5001 and I still get no connection. I have also tried accessing the camera but typing into my browser the public Ip 90.218.110.80 and90.218.110.80:5002 Still not joy. I'm sure I am missing something very simple here and appreciate your patience.

Struggling with remote access to my CCTV system

Thanks guys but I am really struggling with port forwarding. As a result I have had to post on the sky site and ask for guidance and hopefully they will tell me if they have restricted streaming. There is not an option to forward any ports in the DVR. The port fields are basically blank and I had had to populate. I used ports 5000, 5001 and 5002. When I go into the router settings, I can't see any ports and determine whether they are open or not and there is no option to open ports. UPNP was already open and in there I have a port map table as follows Active Protocol Int. Port Ext. Port IP Address YES TCP 80 80 192.168.0.6 YES TCP 443 443 192.168.0.6 YES UDP 9711 9712 192.168.0.10 I can't change any of these settings and does the fact that they are listed mean they are open. I have tried using all 4 ports in the app and no joy. I have also tried putting these ports into the DVR but no success.
  3. Hi guys I have a digiview Pro 8 channel DVR which I am able to access locally. I am struggling however with remote access. I have signed up to a DNS with Dyn and put the settings into the DNS section of my DVR. I want to access the footage on an iPad. I have installed meyepro app and get a picture for about 2 sections on each camera before I then get a network failure message. I'm not sure if port forwarding is necessary and I am a little concerned about changing any settings on my router. Having checked the status of the port I am using with a port checker tool, it says port 80 is open. My ISP is Sky. Has anyone got any suggestions of what I need to do to get a constant picture. Thanks
