Hi, i'm new here, so I hope this is in the correct section. I recently purchased the Floureon CCTV 8 Channel DVR
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CCTV-8-Channel-DVR-Outdoor-Home-Video-Surveillance-Security-Camera-1000HD-HDMI-/231104118543?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item35cee0ff0f
To be honest, I can't make any sense out of the quick operation manual that comes with it. I've had it a fortnight and i'm still no wiser on how it should work. I basically would like this DVR to record throughout the day and night (everyday), and highlight any thing that it has detected and then if it runs out of recording space, to overwrite itself so it can continue recording.
It does records and I get perhaps about 48hrs ( ish ) then stops recording as I presume its full, but it doesn't overwrite itself with any new recordings. I do have overwrite selected. It has a 1000gb hard drive installed. All four cameras are set up correctly. Why isn't in overwriting itself?
Is it also possible to perhaps lower the recording 'data/quality' so i could get longer out of the recording length, before it begins to overwrite itself. So for example, if we went away for 2 weeks and came back, it would have recorded everything of note for us to look back over. The motion detect misses recording key movement, as it doesn't seem to record quick enough. ie, if someone walks onto the drive and off again, it only starts recording virtually when they've left the drive.
I'm not looking to view any of this online or on my phone which I know it can do, I just want to record on the DVR and to view the recordings on the DVR. A simple set up really, but one that the manual doesn't appear to give as an 'easy to understand' approach. Is there a PDF manual for this that perhaps explains the set up a lot better?
I'm really looking forward to hearing from anyone who knows. regards jasonbrian007
