Ive used winsted for some custom racks once but now I prefer to fabricate my own, since you say you are picky you can buy rails and enclosure material (steel, alum, wood etc) and build to your own spec but here are some links to pro rated gear: http://www.winsted.com/vracks.htm http://www.middleatlantic.com/ http://www.comprehensiveinc.com/Default.asp http://www.apw.com/enclosuresolutions/index.asp

Who manufactured this? G4-16XCD :(
Lolo Wolf replied to gRoberts's topic in General Digital Discussion
Maybe GEN IV Technologies, I think its Korean made but distributed in the US by Intellicam and LJD in the UK -
Hello if you dont need sound Ive used these for trailers, there are similar oem products with sound and color but you may save your self some time and money by getting a kit with monitor, as far as the outdoor connection, you can use a cable boot that slips over the bnc fitting, a light spray of crc or slicone will help, for power I would go to your panel and use a spare accessory input instead of splice into your trailer light. http://www.armelectronics.com/page.aspx?p=88 There are dealers on this forum that you could check that carry ARM or similar products. Happy Trails

cams in condo apt. using cable tv?
Lolo Wolf replied to ayalas's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Do you have a condo association and a service contract with the cable co for flat rate to all apts? If so check agreement and see if there are restrictions tied to their entry. Either way you will have to introduce your modulated signal as close as possible to their service entry, there will be a pedestal or box. More than likely to gain access you will need their permission. Where are you located? There are differnt laws and bi-laws concerning such work in condos, although it is quite easy to do, if you dont install it correctly you could screw up reception by introducing noise into the cable. Another point to consider is the type of service you have, basic, analog or digital. I've done gated cam entry installs but most of the modulated work Ive done is in private homes, ranches rual areas. It differs where you are located either way if you are unsure contact a reputable installer and your service provider, Always work safe, remember voltage is voltage be it high or low. Although I am sure people may differ with me on this, cable TV and security monitoring circuits are covered by Article 820 of the NEC.You should check out some of the security installers that are on this forum, perhaps you can find one close to your location. -
New Hampshire live free or die, interesting news story for property owners. http://www.securityinfowatch.com/online/CCTV--and--Surveillance/N.H.-Bill-Addresses-Right-to-Use-Video-Surveillance-on-Property/10333SIW427

What I couldnt figure from reading the story was how the police got a hold of his gear? Did they return to his house after he was arrested and sieze without a warrant? Dashboard cams, flashlight cams, law enforcement protect themselves from civil recourse and for good reason but a citizen should always have the right to protect their home and family. Unless he made backups, Im sure those tapes are history.Reminds me of a covert install I did for a client awhile ago....cameras looking at cameras...if you know what I mean.

Hello Inspire, dependent on your run and environmental factors, try to use conduit if possible, only use direct burial high quality RG59 no matter what, as cctvman suggested, and bury at least 18in, you can reduce that depth 6in if you use rigid or intermediate conduit. If your cable is under vehicle traffic then go at least 24in. A lot of people dig trenches and throw wire/cable in them without considering surge/overcurrentprotection for lightning and physical protection of the wire itself. No matter what route you choose direct burial or conduit its going to get wet. Really its all about physical protection. If you decide to go with conduit, oversize it and pull some spares for future upgrades or repair.

Viewgate Dvr Card (calling all experts)
Lolo Wolf replied to rabidliberal's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hello, just a thought, according to the deatail/spec sheet on your(Hybird) card they specifiy Not To Use AMD processors, perhaps that may be contributing to your problem. Also check you motherboard specs, and if you are using a ATI Radeon card make sure that you are using the cards VGA drivers that they give you on their DVR program. Here is a link to their specs: http://www.viewgatedvr.com/images/specifications.pdf -
I've read and respect the quidelines set up on this forum. Have a great day.

Hello, 2 wire connect with RS485 is for control to PTZ. Other coded wire connections usually are for alarm, data etc. functions, dependent on your device. Your term "cores" (UK) I take it refers to your wire.

Suggestions?: Someone keeps powering off the equipment
Lolo Wolf replied to cctvman's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Sir, another posibility for the system or router eraser could be a security breech on the network itself, it is possible that you may be hacked and someone is able to log in, connect and erase or destroy your data,to erase a router config or reset to default usually takes a reset by switch, a hard reboot should not cause you to lose your setting. I came accross this once on a commercial install for a large construction co.in New York. After hours of troubleshooting I ran multiple scans on the system and found a deeply embeded key logger,it was not hardware installed, no visible device but someone had loaded a program that enabled them to gain all password protected entry and then created havoc, beyond mischief they were destroying sensitive data It turned out to be a estimator who was upset over payroll. This was performed in a locked security room, he gained access to the room with inside help. Both the estimator and IT man were terminated and steps were taken to insure the integrity of the system with the additional install of several covert cams to monitor the cage. Sorry if I sounded harsh in my first post however in commercial applications envolving security it is very important to secure your system and expect the worse especially where there is exchange of cash, the probability will always exsit of foul play and criminal intent from the inside and out. I dont know how many restaurants you have but armed robbery is nothing to ignore so if your gear is left out and can be destroyed what is the use of having it. -
Hello, are you located in the UK? if so there is a support site on your gear: http://www.dedicatedmicros.com/ or you might want to submit a question to this site: http://www.thecctvcompany.co.uk/faq.htm I once got some good data on some older gear that was purchased in the UK. In this PDF on page 34 there is data pertaining to the uniplex DXPro multiplexers there is also info on the pins and adress perhaps that will help: http://www.dedicatedmicrosus.com/pdfs/accessories/cbus-guide1.pdf I know that DM acquired Dennard in 2003 but there is still some documentation online under the dennard brandname. Sorry I cant help you any further, I use mostly Pelco and Panasonic PTZ gear but perhaps there is someone on this website that is hands on with DM and Dennard.

Suggestions?: Someone keeps powering off the equipment
Lolo Wolf replied to cctvman's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hello, before you spend time and money trying to secure a flawed install because consideration was never taken to only allow access to the gear by authorized personel, unless you can rule out a hardware or possible software glitch, I would go to the site and install a total covert camera that only you know about and monitor the security area. There are many small covert cams on the market some with built in storage memory, one that I have used for a client was the MemoCam, http://www.vdomain.com/products/memocam/default.asp If you suspect tampering then you may be able to catch the suspect(s) and then take the steps to secure your system. A final thought Ive learned over the years in CCTV work is to always secure from within first and then work your way out, if you know what I mean. Best of luck. -
cams in condo apt. using cable tv?
Lolo Wolf replied to ayalas's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hello again a quick follow up to your modulator search, ARM electronics has a complete kit (one channel) but you will need to purchase filters as I stated before and perhaps amp, these can be found from channelvision or channelplus dealers. I am sure there are several dealers on this site that could help you purchase retail. Hope this helps you. http://armelectronics.com/specs/MDLAGILE.pdf -
cams in condo apt. using cable tv?
Lolo Wolf replied to ayalas's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hello, you can modulate a cctv signal through a single or multi imput stand alone modulator.Depending on the application you can also include audio as well if needed. You will need to go from either your DVR or VCR if you are using one, if possible loop out the signals and go from bnc to rca imput on the modulator using a adapter, depending on the cable service look for empty channels and simply add your own signal to the mix, however special note: you may need to add a low pass filter to clean up the cable tv channels or block channels so that you can introduce your own and as well keep the signal from back feeding onto the line. The modulators I have used for my installs are either from channelvision, netmedia, and holland as well channelplus all are good, if you are only looking to modulate one imput the channelVision E1200 or CVT1mini-III it is small and wall mountable and also include audio. You will also need a splitter and perhaps depending on the setup a amp to boost the incomming signal to make up for the loss of adding to the cable signal, Depending on the cable system you should split the signal as close to the headend (cable/entry) point and then add your modulated signal(s) There is lot of info and diagrams for modulating cctv into cable systems from channelvision and channelplus http://www.channelvision.com/index http://www.channelplus.com/
