My goal is to arm motion recording on my Hikvision NVR once I set my home alarm system. However, my Hikvision NVR that does NOT have any alarm inputs. I know that some cameras do have alarm inputs. My question is has anyone connected their home alarm system to the alarm inputs on a camera to arm the rest of the cameras to record motion? Direct experience with the Hikvision DS-7608NI would be ideal, but I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks - Dig

Maybe consider the Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-I(W)(3MP). For less than $200, it looks to be a nice option. Not battery powered however.

Unfortunately, I don't currently have any cameras with alarm inputs. It would be really nice for a manufacturer to develop an IP-based alarm module.
