How to view 16 different channels over multiple monitors?
jazzar replied to sylkie's topic in General Digital Discussion
purchase 4 quad units, loop the signals through the quads to the dvr, from each quad unit you will have 4 pictures 1 to each monitor. -
you should not mess around with changing fuses unless you have qualified knowledge- that's what can start fires- generally the fuse is there to protect the cable- so a larger fuse means you should have a larger cable that can handle the larger load, a smaller cable with a large fuse could easily catch fire.

Bosch Dinion Green Power Plugs - 3 Pin Needed
jazzar replied to robbbo's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
try rs components possibly part no 897-1089 check the measurement details or give it a try. -
i am sure there are special elevator cat5 cables available- main criteria is that the cable can support its own weight- so cant just use a standard cable.
-
sounds like you only have poe on the first 4 ports- check spec of dvr see if it only has 4 poe ports.
-
straight cable will do - you need to research port forwarding for cctv system- plenty on web and this forum.

Similar to Briefcam, anyone saw this kind of synopsis before

Hi Its called VIDEO ANALYTICS- the video is analysed via software and you can set up various scenarios to detect if objects appear or disappear from any area you choose by setting up active areas. you can also set up direction of movement etc to pick up something moving wrong way. or count people in and out by setting an area at the front of a shop for example. Its all down to the processing of the images by the camera/control software. you can set up no go areas for example around hi secure areas ie airports near runways etc bank vaults etc. Don't think it comes cheap though. -

120 ohm terminal impedence installation question
jazzar replied to jrcomputerdoc's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
usually there is a switch or a link to set the termination for the data on the camera unit. -
any luck - I found this after google search:- http://www.pcdata.co.uk/html/alarm_master.html

see manual section 3.4 and 3.5, you need to access the camera menus via the controller or keyboard. once in menus adjust as needed - check for what the camera does on boot up ie go to a preset or a tour or nothing. you could set up a preset for the view you want then simply call the preset if you use the camera to look elsewhere. Manual:- http://resource.boschsecurity.com/documents/AutoDome_600_Operation_Manual_enUS_9007201731385867.pdf goodluck.

Good result - its a real pain in the a@@e what you have to do to get some stuff to work. and you need to do the active x thing for each IP address /device - would be great if you could simply apply the controls to a full group instead of individual. we live and learn.

Installer used cat 5e for ptz camera
jazzar replied to bunknown's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
look at the source for the PTZ control - the colour of wires from the controller should then be used at the camera end- only sure way to know will be to get up the ladder and look. data+ at controller should go to data+ at camera, or DATA- A to DATA- A, SOMETIMES THEY CAN BE LABELLED DIFFERENTLY. -
try setting internet explorer security to custom and enable the active x components then see if it will instal. It may be java stopping t also- try typing java in the windows run box select java configuration and try and set the ip into a safe /exception list. maybe also try running internet explorer in compatability mode and add ip address as a safe zone. I have had the same issue and fiddled with all of the above and got it to go. try googling each of the above for better information. once active x installed you can set internet explorer security back to your normal level. Good luck.

there are probably lots of Network based tools that would do this job, found this from a quick googling:- https://www.manageengine.com/products/oputils/help/network/network_monitor_tool.html maybe worth playing with- might do the job.

sometimes the firewall can block traffic- check if you need to allow traffic through a rule for the ports used.

fit one of these- nvr with poe:- SAMSUNG SRN-1673S 16 CHANNEL 2TB CCTV NETWORK VIDEO RECORDER 8M SUPPORTED 80Mbps PLUG & PLAY 16 PoE/PoE+ 1080P H.264 use Samsung codec SPE-400 with quad facility to point to any 4 cameras on your system for the quad views. no switch required since nvr will do poe. the nvr will be the storage so you would need to hide or secure the unit.

Can't access DVR system from Windows 7 but can from Vista
jazzar replied to Indyharleyguy's topic in General Digital Discussion
you could also check the security tab in the java consul setup and add address as an exception -effectively a trusted site, type java in the windows search bar- then select configure java- go to security tab. maybe worth a go. in the past I've had to do this to get active x controls working along with setting ie explorer to custom and add as a trusted site- basically jumping through hoops in the name of security- so secure it wont let me run a known good application- frustrating. good luck. -

you could also try running internet explorer in compatability mode or using ie tools and select emulate an older version of internet explorer eg ie10,or 9 or 8. -
Wireless Access Points to transmit Video
jazzar replied to n.khaznadar's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
did you try doing tracert command to see how far along the network your signal gets. maybe give you a pointer then possibly swap locations of the units and see if signal gets stuck at same device - possible faulty device. -
look up cctv mule. 2way/4way units.
