most units I have seen have a heater with a thermostat that will switch heater on when temp drops low, some also have fans to agitate the air and hopefully result in an even warm temp all around the inside of the dome and eliminate condensation.

you could also use girder clips onto the beams and bolt a small plate on it and mount the camera on the plate- google girder clips. -

Use unistrut to make a clamp with threaded rod and then fix whatever you need onto it , wooden board/metal platees etc. fixing to the sheet metal- I would fit a large wooden/ metal board behind the camera so it spreads the load and you can get a solid fixing. You can make just about anything out of unistrut with the proper fixings and joining plates/zeb clips etc. -

Recomend PTZ Camera that will detect face and zoom in.

your not going to get the results on a low budget- you need to up the megapixels on the camera maybe 12meg or 15meg and with this you will need to up the lighting and possibly set up redwall ir beams to switch suitable lighting on in the subject area. Once you get the picture of the person you should be able to digitally zoom into the face and since you have 15meg to begin with you should be able to get an id on the face with a decent number of pixels making up the face- dependant on distance., you will also need additional storage capacity for the larger size images being recorded. anything can be done at a price- almost bordering on James Bond stuff. cheaper option more cameras closer to subject area as previously indicated. -
you can buy a small wall box for IT equipment - a bit like a dvr secure box- just get the right depth and bolt it on your wall- if you can get good fixings. as always just google dvr wall box or similar.

in what context are you referring to it ? If its a poor video signal and someone says it need the video to be lifted they are referring to a low signal. to fix this you would fit a video amplifier which will allow you to tweak the video back up to a suitable level, more expensive units will maybe have high/medium and low frequency adjusters to allow the video to be tweaked to accommodate the different losses across the cable length since the higher frequencies will be affected more than the lower ones on a long cable run.

Download the manual from PELCO website- should be easy enough- for basic camera all you need is power and video and data to control PAN TILT AND ZOOM if its a functional ptz dome- any other wires are usually for alarms etc. Post model number and a pic of the cables you refer to for people to get a better idea of the connections you refer to.

have a Pelco dvr 5100 series 16 channel, 500gb recorder up for grabs. unit has a faulty psu- replacement parts still common and available online, I can provide details of part number. I connect an old pc power supply to the DVR = result unit works fine. Might even just be a blown fuse on the main psu-this is soldered in place and quite fiddly to get to, so gave it a miss. realistic offers considered. Possibly have a 2nd unit as above- still to test- suspect will be as above.

could your firewall be blocking the data- try turning off firewall and test can you see me.org. you may need to set up firewall rule to pass the data through.

Which NVR for Samsung IP cameras
jazzar replied to dbomb's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Just been with the Samsung guys today, the current front end recommended is the ssm software and the current NVR srn1000, for bigger camera system they are recommending an i7 processor pc- would suspect that if just 6 cameras then an i5 may be fine. -
Camera Installation for Apartment Complex
jazzar replied to jwhite101's topic in General Digital Discussion
from the guy that quoted you- ask to see premises of other clients that he has done and view the system at night and day- good luck in getting number plate recognition at that cost. Its not NCIS here, its the real world. Get 3 separate quotes and specify your requirements in a document- ie number plates- at what distance- and what lighting conditions ? number of days recording expected etc better getting expectations sorted before you start and are disappointed by the outcome. -

Pelco is90-CHV9 - Lost IP address
jazzar replied to spyguy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
as maxicon = definite result. you could do a quick ping check across a normal default range such as 192.168.0.(1-254)? or 192.168.1.(1-254) and 192.168.2.(1-254). This would be a total stab in the dark but many installers set up closed systems on their own small networks tend to stick to the normal default range of the unit supplied. -

see 120729 on the following page:- http://www.amerisponse.com/American_Dynamics_Sensormatic_Pricelist.htm don't know if kit still current - you can let us know how you get on. found on ebay a full refurbish set up in America for around 800 dollars also for intellex units- maybe their American head office ? -
Some systems have a setting that sets the number of days footage that is available in line with data protection ie company data protection statement saying that company so and so will hold images for the duration of x days. the dvr may be able to record longer but will stop you from viewing them thus keeping to the data protection for said company. more for recordings in public areas/ private company premises etc. as opposed to private household.

you could get a HDMI to BNC converter and hook up to the signal off of the sky box's HDMI output. This wont be directly off the dish cable since the signal will be encrypted and decoded via the skybox. Don't know if this helps you any- and don't know if you would need sound also.
