Hello I am Tim I work for a DVR CCTV manufacture that is located in Canada B.C. Since we are located In B.C. are cameras have been built to withstand the harsh conditions that B.C. throws at us. All are outdoor cameras can Handel -40C +50C IP67 rated. (Bosch and Pelco products are very good as well though overpriced) We throw are cameras in a -40C freezer and turn them off for 2 days. Then we start them up and in in 12 minutes they up and working again. outdoor cameras should be made to withstand environmental conditions that are likely to be encountered like rain, snow sun-glare, low light etc. Outdoor CCTV camera security systems Outdoor cameras should either be classed as weather resistant or mounted in a special enclosure to provide protection. Also I recommend getting cameras that are vandal proof for most outdoor applications. Cameras that are made with Polly carbonite are good for this. If you are interested and want to know or look at some outdoor cameras feel free to shoot me a PM or email. Website: www.ascendentgroup.com Phone: 1-250-426-8100

Warranty service and longevity of life is what separates good cameras from the bad. For instance the high end camera I sell have more programming then that of your average DVR and comes with a 3 year warranty. Remember that with the cheaper price generally there service and products won’t be as good. When looking for a manufacture or supplier see if they will give you a 30 day money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied with there you can send it back. Also remember that Often time brand name companies like Bosch and Pelco generally overcharge for there products but they are high quality and you know what you’re getting. I work for DVR manufacture and times they use exact same product and from the same factory but with different names and about 30% less. Also I’m a firm believer in DVR manufactures giving dealers protected areas and exclusivity so that a dealer who is loyal will not be undersold by someone who is selling CCTV products out of there garage and offering no support but in the end its the end user and DVR manufacture who get hurt. Aslo you want to make sure that the company that makes the product you buy is going to be around for a while. I work for a DVR company like that and if you are interested feel free to send me a PM.

Hello What is the application that the DVR is going in to. There are a number of good systems out there the key is to find what your customer wants. How many FPS does he want on each camera. Is he looking for a unit with good remote connect ability or does he just want to look at the DVR locally. Does he want PC based or standalone. I work for a DVR company and if you like I could help walk you through some options. 1-250-426-8100 ext111

Extreme dust conditions video camera application
Ascend replied to angela.lopez's topic in Security Cameras
Very interesting application. I have not heard of any self cleaning cameras that dont use liquids to help clean the lens. However depending on how many cameras you need you should look at having a camera manufacture designing it for you. If the job is big enough to order a reasonable quantity I think you will find the will create and manufacture it for you. I know my company has done this before if it is an untapped market and if there is a reasonable quantity to help cover the design costs. You might get lucky and find a company that already makes or one who is interested in working with you for this specific product. Hope you are able to find it. -
Hello You can see most IR cameras when they turn on at light because of the redish glow you mentioned that is because they run on a Wavelength 850 nm. Cameras that use IR's that run on 940nm+ are invisible to the human eye. If you want to know more feel free to shoot me a email. I just saw the best IR cameras I have ever seen the other day. if you want to talk more feel free to shoot me a PM. Hope this helps
