Hi. Don’t waste your money on foscam You need to tell use about your farm yard How big How many cameras Distance from recorder to cameras Where your located I already have an existing system in place. I have a Hawk PTZ camera installed in the main cattle shed. The camera is powered locally and i am running an Ethernet cable 70M underground to a switch in a garage on site. The camera is connected to the LAN on the farm where i view the camera via Teamviewer on a local PC. The reason why i am doing it this way is because the PTZ camera i am using does not allow me to view the camera via an app or via the local web browser. When i type in the IP address of the PTZ camera in the browser i can see the interface of the camera but no picture. Hence why i use Teamviewer for remote viewing. The reason why i am looking to upfrade the camera is indeed for remote access. Looking fo a camera with a proven web application for remote access. Im not too worries about setting up port forwarding becasue i have done this before but i really need a proven hi spec PTZ camera with remote access. I will also be looking to add more camera around the yard and diesel storage areas. The distance from the yards to the garage would be less than 30 M

Hi all, What are peoples opinions on the best PTZ camera out there for indoor farm shed camera ? I have been reading up on Foscam Cameras and the reviews look good. Has anyone any experience with such cameras and is it user friendly to set up remote viewing ?

Hi all, I plan to put up 2 wireless ptz cameras around my brothers yard next month so im getting down to planning how i will do it. I want to place a camera at the front of his house so he can see who is driving in and one camera at the back of the house. I plan to set them up wirelessly and not run cat5 cables. So i will set the two cameras up first on the local LAN and configure the wireless settings on each individual camera. Then i will set up port forwarding in the router to allow a remote access from outside the LAN. My brother would like to view both cameras at the same time when he logs in from work, airport etc. How will i do this ? From my understanding of port forwarding i would have to give 2 individual ports per camera ?? I know that an app will be available for the phone but how does it work on a laptop or PC ? Can you install the app on the laptop and PC also? If anyone has any ideas whats the best way to set this up please let me know. Cheers

Hi all. I have a ptz camera in my business premises. The views 3 areas. The entrance, diesel tanks area and and the general yard area. I set the camera presets to look at these areas and apply a cruise path. I have it recording for 10 hours every day. However it uses 10gb of space in my harddrive. Is there a way of compressing this file to a smaller file size?? Is 1gb/per hour seem to be alot?? I am new to this so any help would be apreciated. Thanks a million guys

All, I am looking to set up a system that will allow me to connect a IP camera to a transmitter. From here i want to be able to connect the receiver to a PC or TV. Question: Can anyone tell me the setup needed to connect a IP camera to the receiver ? can you connect the IP camera to the transmitter via ethernet cables ?? If anyone has a picture or a description of how to set this up it would be great. Thanks

I am looking to record locally from an PTZ IP Camera i have installed. I am aware that transferring file over the internet will require a large bandwidth... something i do not have. My question is.. If i set up a VPN connection between the site where my camera is and my home (where i want to record) would i be able to record remotely by creating that connection between this VLAN between these two sites ??

Please find snap shot of main stream view. Previously i was viewing it over sub stream.... there is a big improvement viewing over main stream but its still not the same as connecting the DVR to a monitor via VGA. It must be my camera! Have a look and tell me what you think. Thanks -

Thanks for the reply Milkisbad. I will take a screen shot for you at the weekend and send it on to you. I'm sure i tested for both Main Stream and Sub Stream before and it was the same result. I will post screen shots asap. -
Hi, I am setting up a security system for my family business. I bought a DVR off ebay (H264) a while back and im only getting some time to set up the whole system. I connected my DVR to a monitor via a VGA cable and also connected a standard dome camera to the input (CH1) of my DVR and the quality is excellent. I'm very happy with it. However, once i type in my DVR's ip address in the web browser and view my camera over the LAN the quality is extremely poor!! This poses a problem for me as i will have the DVR web page running locally on site and i will be using Teamviewer to view the cameras remotely. Is there some settings in the DVR to improve the quality when viewing over a web page or is it that my DVR is a piece of crap?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
