  1. I'm all new to CCTV never mind IP based stuff. Anyway I have got my Dahua NVR set up and running fine, I set the camera (also Dahua) for motion recording and it works fine, but: playback using iDMSS on the ipad is great and I can watch what has been activated, no issues. playback using the web base software or PSS gives me playback at a sort of fastward speed!? I have the NVR in a location with out a monitor so don't know what it is like playing direct. Can anybody help? EDIT: it seems to also play too fast on regular recording too. here's a example
  2. I've got myself a Dahua NVR (NVR4208-P) and I have had one camera set up for a couple of weeks no issues (HFW4300S) I have now tried to set up a second camera (HFW4300C) and I can see it when I connect to it to my network and it works fine via the web interface, but when I try to connect it to my NVR and then search for it it just can't find it. I have tried resetting the NVR and camera and still no joy! The weird thing is if I connect it to my router I can see the camera find, but just nothing when connected to the NVR, anybody any ideas?
  3. still haven't got anywhere with this issue. NVR is set up with a network address of 192.168.1.220 and connect to my home router. I have one camera plugged in to the NVR and that has been given the ip of 10.1.1.128. that works fine. if I plug in the 4300C camera it never shows up in the NVR. I plug it into my router and it is given a 192.168.1.XX address and it can be seen by the NVR or direct through the web player. I have changed the camera network settings from static ip, to DHCP and still no different, when plugged in direct to the NVR it can't be found! Not sure if it's a camera issue or NVR? I'll have to try another camera.
  4. I'm just into setting up a system and I have a 3MP camera. The camera has a fixed 3.6mm lens, but I have mixed results when changing the resolution I get the widest coverage at full 3MP, but as I lower the resolution I loose a bit off the top bottom of the picture, I can understand this in 1080p or 720p as these are 16:9, but I still loose a little at 1.3M. Sorry if it seems a newbie question, I'm just wondering what are the best settings to use in the NVR (3TB drive, hoping to run 4/5 cameras).
  5. The camera in question is a Dahua (HFW4300S) And I think it's a Dahua thing, it appears that the field of view does look different at different MP's, but I think it's cropping the image, it means I have to run 3mp to get the widest view.
  6. I'm just setting the system up at the moment, so having a play and testing. I have just one camera and I have set that at 3mp, 15fps. Thanks for the reply.
